Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 12 - 12 Pet Beast Fostering, Breeding, and Training Services!

Pet Beast Breeding Bases generally have just one business model: selling newborn Pet Beasts.

The Forest Wolf, possessing decent combat strength and being a likable type of Pet Beast, has Elite Peak Racial Potential. Although not the highest, itʼs still quite good for ordinary people.

However, this path was not one Su Ping wanted to take.

Although his own familyʼs business was precisely this, due to the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas, Su Ping still preferred to raise these home-bred Pet Beasts himself. On one hand, having invested his feelings, he found it hard to part with them. On the other hand, he naturally wanted to rapidly improve the Level of the Forest Wolf Catalog.

Comparing the money from selling with the rewards from the Forest Wolf Catalogʼs World Origin, Su Ping knew which was more important. After all, making money isnʼt limited to a single method.

Therefore, there was only one thing to do. Currently, Su Pingʼs biggest trump card was the perfected recipe for the Heart of Woods Magic Potion. Only this could bring him significant money in a short time.

Of course, Su Ping wouldnʼt be foolish enough to directly sell the Magic Potion. Given the public order standards of the Dragon Nation, and the countless absolute decrees by the Beast Master Association and the Breeder Association against such actions, robbery and plunder were unlikely to happen directly. However, the high replicability of Magic Potions indeed made them prone to drawing unwanted attention.

After all, this was a precious Magic Potion guaranteed to awaken the Heart of Woods. If he took it to the Breeder Competition, he could probably place in the top five, making Heart of Woods famous worldwide! It was, however, too early for that; Su Ping preferred to make a fortune quietly.

So, instead of selling the Magic Potion, he could provide foster training. Though it seemed similar, with the end result still granting the precious Skill of Heart of Woods to the Pet Beast, easing into it by increasing the threshold could reduce a lot of unnecessary attention.

A batch of Heart of Woods Magic Potion cost just 200,000 in materials. But if he let wealthy Beast Tamers who had contracted Forest Wolves choose, two million, or even three to four million, wouldnʼt make them blink. They would even pay up more readily than anyone else!

This truly was an extremely profitable business. It was no wonder those recognized by the Breeder Association as Senior Breeders, or even Breeding Masters, were unimaginably wealthy. Large conglomerates and corporations were eager to support them.

If they managed to develop new Magic Potions or breeding methods, the profits—multiplying tenfold, or even dozens of times more—were indeed tempting.

Thinking of this, a determined glint flashed in Su Pingʼs eyes. Money was always paramount for beast taming. With money, he could quickly train all twenty-plus of his Forest Wolves, achieving a standard closeness Level with them, and then elevate the Level of the Forest Wolf Catalog even faster.

With money, he could buy Pet Beasts of other basic forms to light up the remaining Catalogs and thus gain rewards. He could even purchase incomplete Magic Potions for corresponding Pet Beasts and perfect them using Catalogue Experience, further training Pet Beasts. He could even achieve the Evolution of Xiao Qing and the rest of the Forest Wolves!

To accomplish all of this, money was undoubtedly needed!

After all, in the current situation, this was the only avenue to make money quickly. As for truly selling that large plot of land next door that his family rented out? Su Ping clearly hadnʼt considered it.
It was a legacy left by his grandfather. His unreliable father had never entertained the idea, so naturally, he wouldnʼt either.

With that in mind, Su Ping took out his phone and dialed a number while eating dinner.

「In the center of Linzhou City.」

Inside an office building, a middle-aged man sat behind a solitary desk. He was the editor-in-chief of the Linzhou City Beast Express. He had the typical build of men his age, and his plump cheeks hinted that he must have been quite a looker in his youth. It was just that time had left its marks, along with a shining bald spot. As the editor-in-chief of the largest beast taming network and print media in Linzhou, Li Senlin had a lot on his plate.

However, the ringing of his personal phone still caught his attention. Unsurprisingly, it was his son, Li Shu, who didnʼt bring him much peace of mind.

”Hello, Dad?”

”What is it? Did your Luozisong (Pine) break another plant pot again?” Li Senlin asked irritably.

”Dad! Piney is very well-behaved now, and itʼs clearly because your flowerpot is too small.”

”Alright, cut the crap. If you have something important to say, say it quickly.” Li Senlinʼs tone was somewhat fiery, which was unavoidable. There was still one advertising slot left for the week, and with the development of machinery and online self-media in recent years, it was normal for some local media to grow more slowly.

”Dad, Iʼm talking serious business! Iʼm here to introduce a client to you today!”

Li Senlin was stunned. He glanced suspiciously at his phone; it was indeed his sonʼs number, and the voice was indeed his sonʼs. What on earth was his son talking about?

This unlucky kid! Itʼs good enough heʼs not causing trouble, and now heʼs bringing me business?

”Hehe, I have a classmate who wants to place an ad with you. Heʼs already sent me the deposit.”

Actually introducing business?

Old Li raised an eyebrow. ”Your classmate? What kind of ad? Listen here, the Linzhou Pet Beast Express caters to the whole of Linzhou City and mainly publicizes positive, uplifting Pet Beast news and advertisements. Those ads seeking high-quality Pet Beasts for breeding canʼt just be published willy-nilly!”

”Itʼs not those. My buddy, Su Ping, wants to advertise his familyʼs Pet Beast Breeding Base.”

”Su Ping?” Before Old Liʼs eyes, an image of a handsome, composed young man, unlike his peers, slowly formed.

”Yes! His family has a Forest Wolf breeding base by Lingxi River.”

Forest Wolf? A gleam couldnʼt help but appear in Old Liʼs eyes. Although he was an Elite Level Beast Tamer, he had only barely made the breakthrough. Due to his age, he hadnʼt passed the Beast Tamer exam back then. He wasnʼt really a Combat Beast Tamer, but his first Pet Beast was a Forest Wolf. Even now, it was one of his closest family members.

”Fine. Itʼs rare for you to have a reliable friend. Whatʼs the ad?”

”I sent it to you, take a look yourself. Iʼll hang up now; I need to chat with Su Ping about a gathering at their place in a few days.”

The call ended. Li Senlin finally saw the text message his son had sent earlier, and he saw his sonʼs classmateʼs so-called advertisement.

Very soon, however, Li Senlinʼs expression became extremely strange.

[Heart of Woods Forest Wolf Breeding Base undertakes training and breeding services for Forest Wolves, with a chance to quickly cultivate the cherished Skill ʼHeart of Woodsʼ in Forest Wolves! Those interested can call: 138********, or visit to inquire. Heart of Woods Forest Wolf Breeding Base address: South side of Lingxi River Station, outskirts of Linzhou City.]

Looking at this advertisement, Li Senlin was silent for a good while. Not passing the Beast Tamer exam was his lifelong regret.

But, having a Forest Wolf as his first Pet Beast, he had a very special affection for them and naturally knew just how powerful and rare the Skill ʼHeart of Woodsʼ was for Forest Wolves. Yet, how many breeding bases specialized in this in the entire Jianghai Province? There were quite a few nationally renowned large-scale breeding bases! Even those breeding bases wouldnʼt dare to make such a claim!

Indeed, he had thought too highly.Appearances are deceiving. With his sonʼs character, could he really know any reliable people?

This kind of ad certainly attracted attention, but would anyone actually believe it?

However, after looking at the advertisement fee that was transferred along with the ad, Li Senlin shook his head. Oh well, itʼs just an ad, and the kid didnʼt claim he could definitely help a Forest Wolf comprehend the Skill. Even if it did cause some trouble, it wouldnʼt have anything to do with them.

With that thought, Li Senlin didnʼt dwell on it further.

Meanwhile, on the other end, Su Ping finally hung up after an eager chat with Li Shu. The last bit of his money had been sent over as the advertising fee.

He just hoped the adʼs effect wouldnʼt disappoint him.

With that thought in mind, he glanced at the already slightly darkened sky outside and finally perked up. Those three bottles of the final Heart of Woods Magic Potion must have cooled down by now!

He would keep one bottle as a backup and for seed capital. The remaining two bottles would be for Little Ones and Xiao Qing to try!
