Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 19 - 19: Connect and Share! A New Cultivation Business?

”Yes!” Su Ping responded instantly, feeling the prompts from within the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas without a second thought.

In that moment, the Forest Wolf Catalog within the Atlas, which unfolded in his mind, suddenly magnified. The catalog, already filled with white light, flared brilliantly.

A change slowly emerged from the top of this Forest Wolf Catalog; a hint of green seemed to spread from its uppermost edge. On this card-like Forest Wolf Catalog, the overall color transformed. The card, with its previous white base, slowly turned green—a world of difference compared to before.

At this moment, Su Ping felt an extremely special sensation. He seemed to gain an instinctive familiarity with the Forest Wolf, understanding the meaning behind its cries and the significance of its subtle movements. Even more so, after the Forest Wolf Catalog upgraded to LV2, the Forest Wolf before him seemed to regard him with greater affection and goodwill.

Su Ping instantly understood. Could it be that leveling up the corresponding Pet Beast Compendiums within the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas enhances the Pet Beastʼs affection toward me while also deepening my understanding of them? If thatʼs the case, it could save a lot of effort.

However, these were clearly just perks, minor matters at best. The most important thing is what I gain from the Forest Wolf Catalog in the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas after it upgrades to LV2!

[Catalog ʼForest Wolfʼ level up, current catalog level: 2, awarded with Origin reward: Bonding Share (Forest Wolf)]

Sure enough, as the catalog in the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas completely transformed into a green-backed card, feedback from the Atlas emerged in Su Pingʼs mind.

However, this time, the reward left Su Ping slightly startled. He had originally assumed that the reward for illuminating the Forest Wolf Catalog for the first time—a Beast Tamer talent like Eye of Truth—would be similar to the rewards for catalog level-ups. To his surprise, this Bonding Share was something he had never even heard of.

Could it be an unheard-of talented ability? Su Pingʼs brow furrowed slightly.

Fortunately, as if sensing Su Pingʼs confusion, the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas immediately provided him with direct feedback:

[Bonding Share (Forest Wolf): An ability birthed from the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas. Allows the Tamer to bond and share with Forest Wolves included in the Catalog, provided their affinity meets the criteria. The bonded Forest Wolves share experience gained from skill training, usage, and enhancement.]

[Note 1: The Master of the Catalog may cancel the bonding at any time. Forest Wolves too far from the Beast Tamer cannot be bonded.]

[Note 2: The current Beast Tamer level can bond with up to 15 Forest Wolves simultaneously.]

[Note 3: If bonded Forest Wolves do not possess the corresponding skills, they cannot gain shared experience effects.]

Looking at this ability, and the almost instinctual understanding that came with it, Su Ping was momentarily dumbfounded.

This ability, although it seems only applicable to Forest Wolves, has a heaven-defying effect! Compared to the Eye of Truth, which can only be used for observation, its practicality is much broader—even terrifying. What does this mean?

Actually, it was quite simple. From the feedback of the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas and Su Pingʼs dawning realization, he understood he could have 15 Forest Wolves bond and share. Then, these 15 Forest Wolves could simultaneously train the ʼVine Stranglingʼ skill.

Generally, the speed at which each Forest Wolf improved in such training would depend on its own talent and aptitude. However, with this connection, the skill training speed for each Forest Wolf effectively increased fifteenfold. And if there were extremely hardworking ones, like a little one, or one with exceptionally high talent, like my own Pet Beast Xiao Qing, the effect would be even more astounding!

The levels of skill cultivation are divided into Beginner, Proficiency, Proficient, Perfection, and Divine Perfection. Almost every skill level upgrade brings an unimaginable enhancement to a Pet Beastʼs combat capabilities. Even the significant hurdle from Proficient to Perfection, if it were a Forest Wolfʼs main combat skill like ʼVine Strangling,ʼ the improvement could be more terrifying than the difference between several realms!

Indeed, the level of some skills is linked to a Pet Beastʼs evolution and the upper limit of its racial potential. Take Old Sha, for example; itʼs very likely he reached the Commander Level and comprehended Wolf King Majesty only by cultivating Sunlight Absorption to Perfection, thereby breaking through his race limit.

As for the final level, Divine Perfection? That level of skill cultivation canʼt be forced. Some Pet Beasts can only reach that realm by bringing their skills to their peak and then experiencing a serendipitous moment of epiphany.

And now, with this ability, could I one day bring all the skills of all my Forest Wolves to the Perfection realm?! If that were the case, it would be truly terrifying.

Previously, Su Ping had decided to walk a special Beast Taming path no one had ever trodden. With the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas, he could properly cultivate a group of Pet Beasts, so he never intended to sell any Pet Beast he personally raised. Now, this idea seemed to be drawing closer and closer to reality in his imagination.

The only slight disappointment is that if some Forest Wolves have unique skills that the other little ones havenʼt learned, they canʼt acquire them through this method. Otherwise, if Old Sha knew Wolf King Majesty, it would mean all bonded and shared Forest Wolves would also know Wolf King Majesty. And if it were like Woodhead, with skills such as Forest Concealment Technique, Armor of Wood, Wood Spike, and so on, once connected with Woodhead, wouldnʼt I be able to directly teach all my Forest Wolves these three skills? That would be somewhat too overpowered. Even as it is now, itʼs already quite exaggerated.

Feeling this ability, besides wondering if all the regular skills of his Forest Wolf Pet Beasts could achieve a grand slam under these circumstances, another idea occurred to Su Ping.

Could my Heart of Woods Forest Wolf Pet Beast Breeding Base perhaps start another cultivation business? A business focusing on skill level cultivation! For essential combat skills of a Forest Wolf like Vine Strangling, if we can upgrade them from Beginner to Proficiency in a short time, charging 100,000 or 200,000 for one wouldnʼt be too much, would it? If itʼs a one-stop service, first develop the Heart of Woods skill, then cultivate it from entry-level to Proficiency, and even up to Proficient, asking for several hundred thousand or even a million would be reasonable, right? Too expensive? If you find it expensive, train them yourself! Thatʼs the price for Beast Taming and Pet Beast cultivation!

Thinking this, Su Pingʼs lips curled into an enthusiastic smile.
