Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 36: Chapter 36 Who is this old man? Intermediate Level Breeder! (Third update, seeking votes)

”How about that? Not only did I arrive at your doorstep and didn’t even know to call you, but even old man Liu didn’t know either! Humph! I told you, it’s because your signboard is too high and your phone number font is too small! It’s not my fault!”

Listening to Qin Xiaoxue’s extremely quick yet inexplicably proud voice, Su Ping blinked.

What is she doing? Is she trying to make up for me saying her brain isn’t always working right this morning?

However, hearing her say that, could it really be my problem?

”If you say so, then it must be. But when you were looking for the place, you should have seen the advertisement, right? I left my phone number on the ad too.”

”I was driving at the time, and it was already a hassle trying to navigate. How could I remember such a long phone number? Then I forgot it when I got to the door.”

”Oh, see? Just as I said...”

”AAAAAH! Do you still want your money or not? I’m the client now!”

On the other end of the phone, Vice President Liu, watching Qin Xiaoxue’s face crumble as she tried to justify herself, had no idea what Miss Qin was discussing with Su Ping.

But, come to think of it, he really had never seen Miss Qin like this before.

At this thought, Vice President Liu felt a bit emotional. If that kid really could handle this Miss Qin, that would be truly remarkable.

However, he quickly shook his head.

Qin Erlong is one thing, but that person from Magic Capital... how could they be so easily handled?

Nevertheless, these matters had nothing to do with him. His current task was to deliver Su Ping’s Intermediate Breeder certificate to him as soon as possible, and that would suffice.

With this in mind, he quickened his pace to keep up with Qin Xiaoxue’s steps.

On the other side, after hanging up the phone, Su Ping couldn’t help but laugh and shake his head.

Before he could dwell on Qin Xiaoxue’s angry yet helpless expression, Jin Cheng approached him again.

After glancing at this Breeder, Su Ping didn’t refuse. He saved the phone number of the Intermediate Breeder named Zhao Huaihai into his contacts. Then, he continued to ask, ”By the way, what are the requirements for the Intermediate Breeder assessment?”

This question made Jin Cheng pause slightly. You kid, you haven’t even passed the Junior Breeder assessment, have you? You want to run before you’ve learned to walk?

However, Su Ping was clearly out of the ordinary, so Jin Cheng nodded and said, ”That’s very difficult. It’s not only a test of a Breeder’s experience and skills, but it also requires mastering Skill Cultivation specific to corresponding Pet Beasts. Moreover, the success rate for Cultivation Skills cannot be below fifty percent. This is the most rigid requirement.”

”It’s also the most difficult part. I’m best at Crimson Fang Tiger cultivation, but I’ve never learned the method for them to acquire skills, so I’ve never been able to attempt the Intermediate Breeder assessment.”

Su Ping raised an eyebrow. ”So, how does a Breeder learn and acquire these kinds of Skill Cultivation methods?”

Glancing at Su Ping, Jin Cheng said with some emotion, ”It’s simple. Either you research and develop it yourself—though achieving that is incredibly difficult, and those who do have a high chance of becoming a Senior Breeder!”

”Alternatively, you can pay a high price to purchase some Magic Potion formulas and use them to increase the cultivation success rate. However, the price of each skill-learning Magic Potion formula is unimaginable!”

”Finally, you can become an apprentice. You can go to some Intermediate or Senior Breeders to apprentice under them and learn their cultivation methods. However, this is also very difficult. After becoming a Breeder, half or even more of your earnings must be given to your master for their teachings. And without your master’s permission, you cannot pass on the knowledge to others...”

As he said this, Jin Cheng’s gaze seemed a bit lost, but it quickly firmed with determination. ”Of course, I’m with Fire King Company now. Here at Fire King Company, as long as my performance meets the standards, I’ve worked for ten years, and I complete certain company targets, I can also apply to learn some Skill Cultivation techniques!”

Speaking of this, Jin Cheng glanced at Su Ping. ”Su Ping, although Fire King Company primarily deals with fire-attribute Pet Beasts, resources, and items as its main business, its power in Linzhou City is undeniable, as you surely know. It even has a certain influence in Jianghai Province!”

”If you want to join Fire King Company, it’s not impossible. With the company’s backing, becoming an Intermediate Breeder in the future probably wouldn’t be too difficult.”

Su Ping smiled. ”I don’t have any such plans for now. If I need to in the future, I’ll definitely find you, Brother Jin.”

It had to be said, after chatting for a bit, Jin Cheng had given him a pretty good impression.

Although he was somewhat arrogant towards others, he answered all of Su Ping’s questions without holding anything back.

This was especially true for the basic information about Breeders, which was very helpful and significant for Su Ping, allowing him to gain a deeper understanding of what being a Breeder entailed.

The differences between Breeders are vast.

Putting other things aside, just the fact that they specialize in cultivating different Pet Beasts and excel in different fields and directions already creates enormous differences.

And it was at this moment, at the end of Su Ping’s gaze, that two familiar figures finally appeared.

Qin Xiaoxue and Vice President Liu arrived.

The former was as energetic and hurried as ever; Su Ping had no idea what she was busy with all day. But then again, it’s normal for a rich woman to be busy.

Jin Cheng followed Su Ping’s gaze. Of course, he recognized at a glance that the woman in sunglasses at the front was the mysterious Beast Tamer who had just summoned the Life Ancient Tree.

However, at this moment, Jin Cheng frowned slightly and turned his attention to another figure.

This balding old man... he looks somewhat familiar, doesn’t he?

Jin Cheng saw Su Ping walk over. He naturally wouldn’t be so tactless as to butt in, but his gaze remained fixed on the balding elder, and he sank into thought.

He was quite confident in his memory. Jin Cheng was certain he had definitely seen this old man somewhere before.

Where had I seen him before?

Jin Cheng scratched his head, momentarily perplexed.

Could I have misremembered?

Jin Cheng frowned. However, before he could think further, Su Ping, who had walked up to them, greeted President Liu with a smile, ”President Liu, hello. You could have just called me, and I would have gone to the Breeder Association myself. It’s too much trouble for you to make another trip.”

President Liu?

Jin Cheng blinked. He looked again at the bald, smiling old man, and the image slowly merged with a fleeting glimpse from his memory.

It was like a flash of lightning streaking through his mind.

Before he could react, the figure that had once been so lofty in his memory spoke with an extremely amiable and smiling expression, ”How could that be acceptable? I made a promise. Otherwise, Miss Qin might accuse me of not keeping my word, right?”

”But it’s just you, Little Su, who doesn’t seem to care much about this Intermediate Breeder certificate. If it were anyone else, they’d probably be incredibly anxious by now, hahaha.”

Su Ping also smiled.

However, at this moment, none of them noticed Jin Cheng standing not far behind Su Ping, his expression numb and dumbfounded, as if he’d been struck by lightning.
