Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Gaining Initial Fame! Reminder from Qin Xiaoxue! (First update, please vote)

Breeder Association.

Compared to the Beast Master Association, the Breeder Association’s location was slightly off-center, not in the middle of the city, but it occupied a larger area. Moreover, besides buildings, there was also a vast experimental area. Beyond that, the most bustling area was undoubtedly the reception hall up front. This hall was so spacious it was almost as big as a typical airport terminal. After all, Linzhou is the capital city of Jianghai Province and one of the core cities in the southeast region. Here, numerous Breeders of all levels came to learn, and various Beast Tamers also came to conduct their affairs and look for compatible Breeders for collaboration. At the same time, the Breeder Association was also the largest Advanced Pet Beast sales and training facility. Many Intermediate and Senior Breeders held positions here, and within the association, they could have a laboratory of their own. This place represented the Pet Beast breeding center of Linzhou and was one of its most important buildings and locations. Its importance was clear.

Today was no exception.

In the lively hall, people bustled about. Many Beast Tamers were at the windows, checking information on Breeders specializing in certain Pet Beasts and trying to get in touch. Others, guided by staff, were entering the various training facilities behind, looking for suitable Pet Beasts.

However, at this moment, a broadcast resonated across the vast hall. The content was quite simple, yet it made everyone turn their ears to listen closely, because the broadcast began with a very distinctive piece of music. As expected, after the music came the exclusive message:

”Congratulations to Su Ping from the Heart of Woods base for becoming the 932nd Intermediate Breeder registered with the Jianghai Provincial Branch of the Breeder Association. Intermediate Breeder Su Ping specializes in Forest Wolf breeding...”

As the broadcast sounded, the largest LED screen in the reception hall also displayed images, providing information about the Heart of Woods. For a moment, envy filled the eyes of many Breeders. Becoming an Intermediate Breeder was a dream for so many. However, this message soon left many people completely stunned. As the images and broadcast continued, the specific details about this newly promoted Intermediate Breeder became known:

”What the hell? An eighteen-year-old Intermediate Breeder? Isn’t he just fresh out of the Basic Academy?”

”Could there be some foul play? I’ve been assessed for so many years and still haven’t passed the Junior Breeder assessment. How can a little brat pass the Intermediate Breeder assessment?”

”What’s so impossible about it? Breeders aren’t like Beast Tamers, who can only become one after awakening their Talent. Haven’t you seen? His family runs a breeding base. He’s been exposed to it since childhood, and with Talent, it’s normal! But that Cultivation Skill...”

”Heart of Woods! That’s quite interesting...”

Instantly, the entire hall was abuzz with discussion. Almost everyone knew that in the outskirts of Linzhou City, a special Pet Beast Breeding Base had emerged, along with such a young Intermediate Breeder. Moreover, his Cultivation Skill was the rare Heart of Woods. Although many held doubts, the endorsement from the Breeder Association undeniably sparked great interest in this unknown and special place. After all, Linzhou City was known as the largest origin place of Wood Element Pet Beasts in the Dragon Nation, and the Forest Wolf was one of its representatives. For a time, Su Ping’s name was on everyone’s lips.

At this moment, the Genius Breeder recognized by the Breeder Association, Su Ping, dragged his exhausted body home after six o’clock in the evening. After returning the equally drained Forest Wolves, some of whom were still nursing unhealed wounds, to the forest, he finally heaved a sigh of relief as he collapsed onto the sofa.

Qin Xiaoxue, who was nearby, shook her head. ”I really don’t get you. The rental fees you earn in a day are so meager. Is it really worth pushing yourself this hard? Or is your physical condition just too poor, like some delicate puppy?”

Su Ping was too tired to even retort to Miss Qin’s remarks and merely shot her a glance. She has no idea. After all, since her return, she had only been amusing herself with her Xiao Qing. But when had he, Su, the great Breeder, had a moment’s rest all day? Commanding all the rented Forest Wolves, coordinating them, attending to the injured ones, and ensuring no Forest Wolf disobeyed his commands—he hadn’t stopped for a single moment. Besides, this job truly wasn’t something an ordinary person could handle.

Fortunately, there were rewards. If nothing else, of the sixteen Forest Wolves, a full three had experienced breakthroughs in their Skill Levels today! Thinking of the astonished looks from the Beast Tamers he had battled, a smile curled at the corner of Su Ping’s mouth.

That’s right, just within a single day, three Forest Wolves had their Skills break through. Although all of them had merely progressed from Beginner to Proficiency—the most basic Level—it was still enough to prove that in such combat, the improvement and breakthrough of Skill Levels were indeed swift. That was the very essence of practical combat.

However, engaging in such battles while also renting out Pet Beasts was indeed too taxing. So much so that Su Ping no longer had the energy to supervise the Self-Healing Skill training in the evening. At this thought, he began to feel as though the effort might not be worth the gains.

He shook his head helplessly. Even though it’s not ideal, Su Ping resolved, this Pet Beast rental business will either have to wait until I can hire people to manage it without my direct involvement, or I’ll have to cut back on such arduous tasks in the future.

In the past, Su Ping chose to rent Pet Beasts from Uncle Guan for actual combat training instead of having his own Forest Wolves fight each other. This was not only to hone their ability to face other Pet Beasts in battle; a major reason also involved medical and venue considerations. At Yun Tian’s place, there were Earth Element Pet Beasts specifically responsible for repairing the venue after battles. Without them, just dealing with that would have been exceedingly difficult.

Now, Su Ping began to think. Perhaps I should reverse my strategy. I could rent some Pet Beasts to serve as my sparring partners, along with Beast Tamers whose Pet Beasts can restore the venues. At least then I wouldn’t be so drained that I have no energy for anything else. It’s just a matter of spending some money, right? Although I’m short on money now, that doesn’t mean I will be in the future. Old Liu sounded so confident. Surely he can introduce some business to me, right? If I could secure another hefty payment like that last one, perhaps I could then consider buying some different types of Pet Beasts and fully explore the potential Abilities of the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas.

As Su Ping was lost in these delightful fantasies, Qin Xiaoxue suddenly spoke up, ”I’ve got something to tell you. Aside from renting Pet Beasts, has that Manager Guan been asking you for anything else recently?”

Hmm? Su Ping raised his eyebrows, turning to look at the serious Qin Xiaoxue.
