Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Su Ping’s Contracted Pet Beast? Xiao Qing Enters the Scene! (Third Release, Seeking Votes)

Under everyone’s gaze, Su Ping, his expression unchanging, didn’t even acknowledge the guy at first. He just smiled and patted the head of Little One, who had quickly run over.

”Well done.”

Then, he turned directly to the staff member responsible for recording this area and held up one finger.

”One, please record it for me, thank you.”

The staff member nodded, knowing it was about Su Ping’s Pet Beast combat rental business.

After all this, Su Ping turned, leading Little One down from the arena, and then said with a smile, ”Well, you never said you wanted to fight my Contracted Beast. I have so many Forest Wolves here. Naturally, I’d pick the most suitable one!”

Zhou Shuchen glared, and some chuckles came from the side.

Indeed, Zhou Shuchen had only asked Su Ping for a Controlling Beasts battle; he never specified it had to be against Su Ping’s Contracted Beast. Now, not only had he failed to show off, but he’d also been beaten for nothing and had even wasted money renting a Pet Beast for the fight.

Su Ping wasn’t sure about the fees here, but how could the other students, who had discussed coming here in their group chat, not know? This amount was negligible for Su Ping and some students, but for Zhou Shuchen, who had already amassed millions in debt, it clearly wasn’t as trivial as he had claimed.

However, the young man standing next to Zhang Guowei narrowed his eyes slightly, observing Little One, who had returned to its normal size, a hint of surprise in his gaze. As an employee of Fire King Company, and a member of the Cultivation department responsible for observing and assessing the potential of Pet Beasts for the company’s newly signed prospective graduate reserves, he instinctively felt something was off about this Forest Wolf. However, his Talent was not the Eye of Truth, and it was impolite to casually use one’s Talent to observe another’s Pet Beasts. He could only cast thoughtful glances at the peculiar Little Forest Wolf from time to time.

At this moment, Zhou Shuchen, obviously unaware of these details, was flushed with anger—even more so than when he had been using his Fire Element Affinity.

He glared at Su Ping resentfully. ”Su Ping, do you dare to fight again, this time using your Pet Beast bound by a Soul Contract?”

He had completely lost his senses. The high cost of this place was utterly forgotten; all he wanted now was revenge. He yearned to defeat this perpetually pretentious guy and trample him underfoot! He had even prepared taunting words, yet the unexpected happened once more.

Su Ping nodded once more. Facing Zhou Shuchen’s furious gaze, he maintained his usual calm expression. ”Sure. But you should take your Pet Beast to recover and awaken first. There’s no rush; we can fight after your Pet Beast has recovered.”

His reminder was well-intentioned. After all, he earned money per fight. If people were eager to hand over cash, why would he object?

Zhou Shuchen also came to his senses but merely snorted coldly, holding his Crimson Fang Tiger as he approached the already prepared recovery medical room.

At this point, some other students who had witnessed the recent battle also perked up. They found suitable opponents at random and took to the field for Pet Beast duels, including Li Shu and Yin Yin.

Li Shu’s Luozisong was a Plant Type Pet Beast, which generally had average mobility. The Luozisong’s combat strength was decent; by swinging its branches, it could activate the Skill ’Pine Bomb.’ This was an extremely powerful attack method, and it was rare for Low-level Plant System Pet Beasts to possess such combat effectiveness. Unfortunately, Li Shu’s Luozisong hadn’t yet mastered this Skill. So, facing its opponent, a Saber-toothed Marmot, it could only wave its branches continuously, unable to inflict any damage. Li Shu watched in frustration, gritting his teeth.

Yin Yin’s Pet Beast, on the other hand, was rather special and worth mentioning. It was a unique Pet Beast called ’Cloud Butterfly’ with Racial Potential reaching Elite Peak. Its combat power was actually quite ordinary; it could create illusory mists and release intoxicating fragrances. However, its appearance was incredibly beautiful and matched Yin Yin’s overall temperament quite well. Additionally, combined with Yin Yin’s ’Traceless’ Talent, she momentarily resembled a fairy dancing in the mist. She bewildered the opponent’s ’Spider with Silk Entanglement’—which also had average combat power—so thoroughly that, with the spider being at a species disadvantage, both the opposing Beast Tamer and Pet Beast were left completely disoriented.

Somewhat interesting.

Su Ping nodded as he watched the scene on stage. The Traceless Talent could increase a Beast Tamer’s speed and was very helpful for dodging Pet Beast attacks. Although it couldn’t directly increase his own or his Pet Beasts’ combat power, it was still quite a practical Ability.

Combined with her looks, it was clear how captivating she was; in just a short while, besides her classmates, many other Beast Tamers had gathered to watch. Those who came here were all young people, and quite a few wanted to show off after seeing such a beauty. And in this Pet Beast training combat venue, how does one show off? Undoubtedly, through strength. And in this arena, the only one renting out Pet Beasts for combat was Su Ping.

This made Su Ping feel very pleased. This campus belle actually had such benefits and uses! Once I become richer, should I also hire a few pretty faces to entice these naive and wealthy young Beast Tamers into becoming big spenders? Su Ping felt it had great potential.

”Bro Ping, doing this, how much can you earn in a day?” Li Shu came up and asked excitedly.

Not far away, Zhou Shuchen, who was waiting for his Crimson Fang Tiger to recover in the treatment room, also pricked up his ears; he wanted to listen in too. How much money can this degenerate fellow, who only cares about money and reeks of its stench, actually earn?

Su Ping smiled faintly, not avoiding the others. ”Not counting the base, just from these recent Pet Beast fights, the earnings are about twelve thousand plus!”

Ordinary Level Pet Beasts fight for five hundred a session, Elite Level for twelve hundred. Currently, except for Little One, none were unoccupied, and Zhou Shuchen had just paid for Little One’s session. That was exactly the amount.

”GASP! That’s really easy money!”

Li Shu was somewhat envious. His dad, as the editor-in-chief of a media company, earned a monthly salary of just over twenty thousand, which was already considered good in Linzhou.

Zhou Shuchen, on the side, had bloodshot eyes and clenched his fists tightly. Money! If he truly didn’t care about money as he claimed, why hadn’t he paid off his debts first? Thinking of this, Zhou Shuchen felt even more resentful. Just wait! Once his Crimson Fang Tiger recovers, I’ll teach this guy that his money isn’t so easy to earn!

However, just as this thought arose, two identical figures approached Su Ping.

”Excuse me, are you the one renting out these Forest Wolves? Do you have any left? My brother and I want to train in coordinated Pet Beast combat and need two that can fight together. Do you have any Forest Wolves between Ordinary Fifth Rank and Ordinary Seventh Rank?”

Su Ping looked at the twin brothers before him, slightly stunned. It seems the only one left under my command is Little One.

The twin brothers seemed to understand the situation and scratched their heads. From the side, Zhou Shuchen sneered sarcastically, ”Su Ping, don’t you also have a Contracted Beast? Why not team it up with that Forest Wolf? Though, I’m not sure if your Contracted Beast meets their Level requirements!”

Clearly, Zhou Shuchen’s words were sarcastic. After all, Su Ping had just instantly defeated his Crimson Fang Tiger with Little One, without using his own Contracted Beast. Even though Zhou Shuchen hadn’t specified it beforehand, this led the surrounding classmates to believe that Su Ping’s other Forest Wolf was probably no match for his Crimson Fang Tiger! Naturally, it seemed Su Ping couldn’t meet the twin Beast Tamers’ request for a Pet Beast between Fifth and Seventh Rank.

However, these words seemed to remind Su Ping. He met the expectant gazes of the twin customers and nodded.

”Alright then.”

Subsequently, under the bewildered stares of Zhou Shuchen and all the surrounding classmates, a white light flashed, and Xiao Qing, who hadn’t yet had a chance to appear, finally debuted!
