Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 233 Brother Long, please love me one more time!In that quiet office, the excitement that Professor Xu Cheng had previously forcefully suppressed was like surging magma trapped beneath a volcano, churning deep within his heart.

But at this moment, when Su Chen personally mentioned Room-temperature superconductivity technology over the phone, that long-suppressed excitement erupted in an instant, just like a volcanic eruption.

Professor Xu Cheng never expected that Su Chen, this young man, could so easily unleash the intense desire for knowledge that he had struggled so hard to suppress.

Hearing the slightly distorted, excited voice of Professor Xu Cheng on the other end of the line, Su Chen quickly said with a smile:

”Don’t get too excited, Professor Xu. You’re getting on in years; don’t let your high blood pressure flare up. We need to take it easy.”

His words carried a hint of teasing, attempting to help Professor Xu Cheng calm his excited mood.

However, Professor Xu Cheng couldn’t be bothered with Su Chen’s teasing at this moment. Amidst his excitement, he couldn’t help but feel worried!

He frowned and said with a serious face:

”Little Su, actually, I’ve wanted to ask you this for a long time, but I’ve always been worried about confidentiality issues.”

”You know that this Room-temperature superconductivity technology is no ordinary matter; it’s a major breakthrough that could cause an uproar in the scientific community and even the entire world!”

”And you... how could you talk about such a big matter so casually over the phone?”

”What if this call was being eavesdropped on?”

”If you have anything to discuss, you should have just asked me to come over and talk in person. I’m still spry enough!”

Professor Xu Cheng’s voice was filled with anxiety and concern; he knew deeply how important confidentiality work was for such a critical technological achievement.

Su Chen was truly surprised upon hearing Professor Xu Cheng’s words. He hadn’t expected that the leading authority on materials science in our Dragon Country would have such a strong sense of confidentiality when facing this situation.

He couldn’t help but smile slightly and said in a relaxed tone:

”What’s there to keep secret, Professor Xu? Isn’t it just Room-temperature superconductivity technology? It’s not a secret anymore, so what’s there to hide!”

”Besides, those guys from Eagle Nation have already announced it to the whole world at the joint conference! Even if we wanted to keep it secret, it’s too late.”

As Su Chen spoke, various arrangements for the finale of the Spring Festival Gala surfaced in his mind.

Dragon Country had decided to unsheathe its sword this time on the special stage of the Spring Festival Gala, showcasing our various top-tier technological achievements to the whole world. Since that was the case, there seemed to be no need to keep the Room-temperature superconductivity technology a secret anymore.

Immediately after, Su Chen brought up the main business.

His voice traveled through the receiver, clearly and steadily reaching Professor Xu Cheng’s ears:

”Professor Xu, I’m calling you today mainly to ask you and your team, along with all the materials science teams across the country, to gather and carry out the application development of Room-temperature superconductivity technology!”

Su Chen’s tone revealed a sense of longing and anticipation for future technological applications:

”Just think, such a good material has huge application potential; it must not be limited to the field of electric power and energy!”

”It can definitely have broader application scenarios, such as achieving large-scale popularization of ultra-high-speed maglev trains in the transportation sector!”

”And assisting the development of quantum communication in the communications sector!”

”It’s just a pity that I don’t have time to do this application research myself right now. I have more important things to do, so I can only entrust this matter to you and all the expert teachers!”

Professor Xu Cheng widened his eyes slightly upon hearing Su Chen’s words, a look of surprise appearing on his face.

Only then did he truly realize that this meant their Dragon Country had truly achieved a breakthrough in Room-temperature superconductivity technology!

This realization flashed through his mind like lightning, instantly dispelling his previous doubts.

However, he didn’t have time to immerse himself in shock at this moment, because he instantly felt a heavy responsibility fall upon his shoulders.

Professor Xu Cheng felt as if the long-dormant blood of his old age was reignited at this moment, boiling uncontrollably.

He knew that the application development of Room-temperature superconductivity technology was no small matter. Once successfully advanced, it could change human lifestyle to a great extent; this was definitely a great research project!

And now, Su Chen had so confidently entrusted this incredibly important project to them, making Professor Xu Cheng feel the weight of the responsibility deeply, while also feeling full of gratitude for Su Chen’s trust.

Su Chen was only giving him a heads-up this time, but to Professor Xu Cheng’s surprise, not long after, the actual project appointment letter was delivered to him by a special courier.

Holding that appointment letter, Professor Xu Cheng understood immediately that this must have been arranged after Su Chen proposed it to the leaders above.

Thus, that very day, Professor Xu Cheng immediately took action.

He first sat at his desk, carefully reviewing the list of various materials science teams he was familiar with, and then started making calls one by one.

”Hello, Old Li, it’s me, Xu Cheng. I have some earth-shattering good news! Our Dragon Country has achieved a breakthrough in Room-temperature superconductivity technology. We need to carry out application development now, and you must bring your team to participate!”

”Professor Zhang, I have an important project here regarding the application of Room-temperature superconductivity technology. We need to gather our strength and give it a hell of a go. Please arrange your personnel as soon as possible...”

Professor Xu Cheng’s voice on the phone was filled with irrepressible excitement and urgency, with every call conveying this major mission.

This old scholar seemed to have rediscovered the drive of his youth at this moment.

He was not crushed by this heavy research task!

Instead, whenever he thought about being able to participate in such an important task that could benefit humanity, and that this heavy responsibility had been placed in his hands, he felt as if an endless supply of strength was surging within him, and he threw himself into the preparations with high spirits.

...

At the venue of the joint conference, the atmosphere was exceptionally strange compared to when it first started.

In the huge conference hall, it seemed to be divided into two distinct camps, presenting two clearly demarcated emotional atmospheres.

One group of people, upon learning the news that Dragon Country had achieved a breakthrough in Room-temperature superconductivity technology, had faces beaming with excitement and joy, and they couldn’t help but cheer for this latest technological achievement of Dragon Country.

In their view, this was another major milestone in the history of human technology, meaning that future life would undergo earth-shaking changes because of this technology!

And they would also benefit from it.

And the other group of people were all frowning and sighing.

These people were naturally those lackeys of Eagle Nation.

Except for Banana Country!

”Hey, hey, hey, who said I’m a lackey of Eagle Nation!”

”I’m a loyal running dog of Brother Dragon, okay!”

”Brother Dragon, please love me again!”
