Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 228 Is Brother Long Going to Take Down the US?The atmosphere in the conference room was oppressive!

The high-ranking officials were deep in worried thought about the many troubles brought about by the destruction of the satellite!

Suddenly hearing CIA Director Smith claim that he had obtained new intelligence on the Dragon Nation, this news was like a thunderclap, instantly shocking the Secretary of State.

”What? Could you have really discovered new technological equipment from the Dragon Nation!”

The Secretary of State widened his eyes, his voice involuntarily rising a few notches, his words filled with disbelief.

Once these words were spoken, the others, already on edge, were badly frightened, as if their hearts had been violently gripped by an invisible hand, and they all froze on the spot.

”Don’t joke around!”

Someone couldn’t help but shout out,

”The mechas previously developed by the Dragon Nation wiped out Daishin in that conflict in the Oil Country!”

”That scene was simply a one-sided crushing; Daishin’s advanced equipment was like paper in front of the Dragon Nation’s mechas.”

”And the Strategic Warship they developed earlier was even more ridiculously powerful; one shot completely blasted our overseas military base away, scaring our two carrier strike groups so much that they didn’t dare to confront it head-on, and they retreated in disgrace.”

”Now you’re telling me they’ve developed new equipment again?”

”Aren’t you just messing with us?”

As they spoke, these people had faces full of terror and helplessness, as if the advanced equipment that kept emerging from the Dragon Nation had become an inescapable nightmare in their hearts.

”Yeah, and it’s only been a few years! First the mechas, then the Strategic Warship, and oh right, the Room-temperature superconductivity from before—these shocking achievements are like magic tricks. The Dragon Nation is advancing its technology way too fast!”

”It feels like they are using cheats, giving us old established powers absolutely no chance to catch our breath.”

Someone echoed, their words filled with deep jealousy and worry.

Smith noticed the surprised, perhaps even terrified, reaction of the crowd, and inwardly cursed, realizing his words just now had been too abrupt, causing everyone to panic like this.

He hurriedly waved his hands and said urgently:

”No, no, don’t think in such terrifying directions! No matter how powerful the Dragon Nation is, it’s impossible for them to have created something new again; otherwise, I’d really suspect they have Extraterrestrials helping them!”

”You can’t just make wild guesses based on what I said earlier. I haven’t even mentioned the specific content of the intelligence yet; everyone, don’t panic, don’t panic.”

Upon hearing his words, the crowd seemed to have grabbed a lifeline, slowly letting out a sigh of relief, and the hearts that had been in their throats slowly settled back into their stomachs.

President Biden also sat back in his original position, though his brows remained tightly furrowed, and the expression on his face remained very grave.

Actually, it was no wonder they had such a stress reaction.

For one thing, the Dragon Nation’s momentum in the field of technology in recent years was simply too rapid; that technology tree was like it had been enchanted, growing up by leaps and bounds!

Top-tier technological achievements kept emerging, leaving behind countries like theirs that had always considered themselves technological powerhouses—how could this not make them feel flustered and anxious?

Secondly, the words Smith said when he came in were just too easy to associate with the idea of whether the Dragon Nation had researched some new, more deterrent weaponry!

After all, the Dragon Nation had already given them too many ”surprises” before, and each time they were powerful things capable of overturning the war situation.

The Secretary of State wiped the sweat that had appeared on his forehead at some point, secretly rejoicing that the Dragon Nation didn’t seem to have come up with any shocking new equipment as they had imagined.

He steadied himself and said to Smith:

”Mr. Smith, tell us about the new intelligence you brought; don’t keep us in suspense, everyone is waiting to hear it.”

As he spoke, he took out a handkerchief and gently wiped his forehead; the handkerchief had been soaked by sweat in a small spot.

Smith hurriedly sat down in his seat, then took a stack of documents from his briefcase and distributed the obtained intelligence to everyone in turn.

When everyone received the intelligence and lowered their heads to examine it carefully, they immediately revealed expressions of confusion; their eyes were full of doubt, as if they had seen some extremely baffling puzzle.

At this moment, Smith cleared his throat and said:

”Our latest intelligence shows that the Dragon Nation will close its entry and exit channels around the Spring Festival Gala, which is their New Year’s Eve.”

”To be honest, this intelligence is quite incomprehensible to me as well; I can’t figure out what the Dragon Nation is up to.”

”This move is just too strange.”

The Secretary of State listened and frowned; he squinted his eyes slightly and, after thinking for a moment, said:

”Could it be that the Dragon Nation has something else that needs to be kept secret?”

”But what does this have to do directly with closing entry and exit channels?”

President Biden sat in the main seat, his hands crossed on the table; he looked at everyone with deep eyes and slowly said:

”Continue to closely monitor the Dragon Nation’s movements; they are definitely going to make a big move this time, and it’s even possible that they can no longer hold on.”

His tone revealed an inexplicable certainty, as if he had already insighted the deep meaning behind this move by the Dragon Nation.

Hearing this, everyone turned their gazes toward President Biden, their eyes full of curiosity and anticipation, all wanting to hear him explain his thoughts in detail.

”Mr. President, tell us your thoughts; have you sensed something?”

Someone couldn’t help but ask.

President Biden sat up slightly and said with a serious expression:

”Do you still remember that incident of the standoff in the Southern Sea Area?”

Smith subconsciously replied: ”Are you talking about the time our fighter jet formation was completely wiped out?”

President Biden immediately glared at him and said irritably:

”It’s not even certain whether it was the Dragon Nation that made the move that time, so where does the talk of a standoff come from!”

”And speaking of this gives me a headache; are you at the CIA just doing nothing?”

”To this day, you haven’t found out the mole that caused our fighter jet formation to be completely wiped out; you really are good for nothing and only cause trouble!”

Hearing this, Smith felt so much regret in his heart that he wanted to slap himself twice; if he had known, he wouldn’t have spoken up. Now, he had touched bad luck and was scolded by the President.

Seeing that the atmosphere was about to be disrupted by some irrelevant matters again, the Secretary of State hurriedly steered the topic back to the intelligence, saying:

”Mr. President, are you talking about the standoff incident with the Dragon Nation in the Southern Sea Area from even earlier?”

”That was probably seven or eight years ago.”

After his reminder, everyone immediately recalled it and nodded to indicate they remembered.

President Biden nodded and said with an even more serious tone:

”That standoff was the time when our two countries were most likely to have a conflict; the situation was exceptionally tense!”

”And it was during those few days that the Dragon Nation, just like now, closed its entry and exit channels.”

Upon hearing this, everyone suddenly realized, as if a bolt of lightning had flashed through their minds, instantly realizing that the Dragon Nation behind this intelligence might really be making a big move again!

This couldn’t help but make them all alert, as if an invisible hand had already quietly reached their throats, ready to tighten at any moment.

”Mr. President, according to your meaning, is it very likely that the Dragon Nation will have a conflict with us again?”

”Or rather, are they... preparing to make a move against us????”

The Secretary of State suddenly spoke:
