Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 227 New Intelligence from the Dragon Kingdom!Hearing Commander Liu Chengzhi ask about Su Chen’s whereabouts, General Zhao Yong couldn’t help but laugh:

”That kid? He’s sleeping in!”

”He’s been running around like a headless chicken for various projects lately. Now that all our projects are wrapping up, it’s time to let him get some proper rest.”

Commander Liu Chengzhi nodded with deep feeling upon hearing this, repeating General Zhao Yong’s words with a sigh:

”Indeed, it is time for him to have a good rest!”

”That kid has really been giving it his all.”

This seemingly casual conversation between the two fell word for word into the ears of Director Zhang.

Director Zhang couldn’t help but wonder, who exactly was the ”brat” they were talking about?

They acted as if all the credit belonged to him!

It sounded as if the Space Mecha and the Aerospace Carrier were all his doing.

However, he didn’t take it to heart; after all, this was far removed from his own field of expertise. More importantly, even if he wanted to dwell on it, he had signed a non-disclosure agreement and couldn’t ask any questions. It was better not to know what one shouldn’t, to avoid inviting trouble.

At this moment, Commander Liu Chengzhi noticed Director Zhang standing to the side, and General Zhao Yong smiled and introduced them to each other.

Commander Liu Chengzhi reached out enthusiastically, shook hands briefly with Director Zhang, and said:

”Director Zhang, I’ve long admired your work. The finale of this year’s Spring Festival Gala depends entirely on you. You must perfectly showcase the magnificence of these big guys of ours.”

General Zhao Yong also nodded from the side, then his expression turned serious as he said:

”Old Zhang, all the weapons and military equipment that need to be presented are now ready. It’s your turn to shine!”

”This is a daunting task, but I believe that with your skills, you will definitely be able to pull it off brilliantly.”

Director Zhang’s face was filled with a serious and earnest expression. He shook Commander Liu Chengzhi’s hand firmly, nodded at General Zhao Yong, and stated solemnly:

”Rest assured, Commanders, I will certainly not fail the mission!”

”I guarantee that this year’s Spring Festival Gala will absolutely be the most explosive Dragon Country Spring Festival Gala in history!”

”By then, audiences across the country and even the entire world will be stunned and dumbfounded by our program!”

General Zhao Yong and Commander Liu Chengzhi exchanged a smile and nodded in satisfaction, their eyes filled with anticipation for the success of the Spring Festival Gala finale.

...

The Eagle Country.

The White House.

The atmosphere in the conference room was as oppressive as it was before a storm, so stifling that it was almost hard to breathe.

The President, sitting at the head of the table, had an extremely ugly expression, his face as dark as a thunderstorm.

Just moments ago, he had received bad news from the Satellite Department. This news was like a bombshell, causing an uproar in his heart.

The President, who had always considered himself a devout believer in God, was now plunged into extreme self-doubt.

Hundreds of satellites responsible for monitoring the Dragon Country had all been hit by cosmic rays. This was undoubtedly a devastating blow to their intelligence-gathering system.

Through the detailed briefing from the Satellite Department, he learned that while cosmic rays occasionally caused some satellite malfunctions in the past, the level of destruction had never been this severe.

In the past, the satellites would resume normal operation once the cosmic rays passed, but this time, the situation was completely different!

All of the satellites had been completely destroyed by this intense ray bombardment, with no possibility of repair.

President Biden felt an unquenchable anger. One had to know that the direct economic loss caused by this wave of ray bombardment amounted to nearly 100 billion US dollars!

This was no small sum; throwing it out casually would be enough to cause quite a stir internationally.

And this was only the direct loss. The time and effort spent building this massive satellite network, along with the massive financial cost, were what pained him the most!

It had taken the heart and soul of countless researchers and vast national resources to build it. Now that it was destroyed in an instant, how could he not be heartbroken?

But now, no matter how heartbroken he was, he had to find a way to solve the problem.

Rebuilding a new satellite network would require even more investment. In the current environment of an energy crisis, even a superpower like them felt this was a burden so heavy it was suffocating!

Who told them they didn’t have advanced Space Mecha like the Dragon Country!

The Dragon Country could now use Space Mecha to send satellites directly into space. Unlike them, who still had to honestly build rockets to launch satellites. The gap between them was not just a little bit.

After a burst of angry roaring and silent contemplation, President Biden finally calmed down from the rage that threatened to consume him. He looked up, fixed his gaze on the Secretary of State, and asked with a hint of accusation in his tone:

”Are you sure it’s cosmic rays and not some trick played by the Dragon Country?”

Nowadays, President Biden was jumpy, like a bird startled by the mere twang of a bowstring. Whenever the country suffered the slightest setback, he couldn’t help but suspect that the Dragon Country was behind it.

The Secretary of State had actually suspected the Dragon Country before, after all, the Dragon Country’s development speed over these years had been too fast—so fast that it had left established powers like them feeling flustered.

But after some investigation and analysis, his suspicion had diminished significantly.

He cleared his throat and said slowly: ”I don’t think it was the Dragon Country. According to the information we have, their own satellites have also been hit by the cosmic rays.”

”From this point of view, it doesn’t seem like they did it on purpose.”

President Biden heard this but dared not take it lightly. He frowned, his eyes filled with a trace of doubt, and said:

”What if they deliberately found some satellites that were about to be scrapped and staged it for us to see?”

”This Dragon Country is becoming increasingly unfathomable.”

Hearing President Biden’s words, the Secretary of State bowed his head in thought for a moment, feeling that there was absolutely no need for them to do such a thing.

He shook his head and said helplessly:

”To put it bluntly, with the Dragon Country’s current strength, there is absolutely no need for them to put on a show for us!”

”Besides, our Engineer said that to emit this form of cosmic rays, extremely advanced technology and theoretical support are required. As of now, no country can achieve this.”

”Therefore, I think the Dragon Country should be a victim just like us.”

”Could it be that the Dragon Country has created some other gadget we don’t know about?”

Just then, the door to the conference room was suddenly pushed open, and Smith’s voice rang out!

Everyone turned to look and saw him walking in from outside.

Smith’s appearance broke the previously dull atmosphere of the conference room, and everyone’s eyes instantly focused on him.

Seeing Smith, President Biden snorted coldly, his face darkening even further as he reprimanded:

”Do you know how late you are?”

”Furthermore, as a member of our intelligence department, if the Dragon Country invents new equipment, shouldn’t you be the one to tell us?”

”Instead, you’re here asking us questions. How are you doing your intelligence work?”

Smith was left speechless by President Biden’s reprimand, his face turning red and white—he couldn’t have been more embarrassed.

He cursed inwardly, knowing he had hit a streak of bad luck this time.

However, he was a quick-witted person and hurriedly changed the subject:

”Um, we have obtained the latest intelligence from the Dragon Country!”
