Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 221 The Satellites Are All Annihilated?!Eagle Nation.

The Secretary of State personally headed to the Satellite Department, his hurried footsteps echoing through the empty corridor.

As soon as his figure appeared at the entrance of the Satellite Department, the person in charge greeted him, his face filled with excitement as if he were harboring a secret capable of shaking the world.

”Secretary of State, you’ve finally arrived!”

The person in charge’s voice trembled slightly with excitement!

He gripped a document tightly in his hand, as if holding a rare treasure.

The Secretary of State frowned slightly; he was confused by this display, but his curiosity was piqued.

”What is going on? Stop beating around the bush.”

The Secretary of State’s tone carried a hint of impatience.

The person in charge hurriedly handed over the document:

”We… we seem to have discovered a military base belonging to the Dragon Nation!”

A fanatical light flickered in his eyes.

Upon hearing this, the Secretary of State instantly perked up, his previously weary expression immediately replaced by surprise and joy.

He snatched the document and began to read it impatiently.

The images and data on the document all pointed to the astonishing discovery that it might be a Dragon Nation military base.

”This… if this is true, then it really is fantastic news!”

The corners of the Secretary of State’s mouth curled up involuntarily, his eyes filled with excitement.

”You’ve done a great job this time! I propose a raise for all of you!”

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire Satellite Department was drowned in cheers.

The Secretary of State and the person in charge walked side by side toward the large screen in the Satellite Department. The massive screen flickered with countless data points and images, like the eyes of the universe, spying on every move on Earth.

The person in charge patted his chest and guaranteed:

”Secretary of State, all of our reconnaissance satellites are currently gathered over the Dragon Nation, conducting a comprehensive, all-angle search. We will absolutely not let any clues slip by!”

”You can completely treat us as the eyes of our nation!”

In the very next second after the person in charge finished speaking, the large screen, which had been glowing, suddenly went black, as if the light of life had been snuffed out by an invisible hand.

It wasn’t just this one screen; all the screens in the Satellite Department monitoring the satellites went dark at the same instant.

The entire department fell into a dead silence, with only the fading cheers seemingly mocking the sudden turn of events.

The Secretary of State was stunned for a moment, his brow knitting into a knot. ”Is there a power outage?”

His voice broke the silence, but it carried a hint of disbelief.

The person in charge was also dumbfounded, his eyes wide, his face filled with panic.

”Quick! Go check what’s going on!”

His voice sounded slightly strained.

The Engineer team rushed over, their expressions grave, holding various testing equipment.

After a tense inspection, the preliminary results were out.

An Engineer, drenched in sweat, reported:

”Secretary of State, after our inspection, it appears our satellites have suffered an impact from cosmic rays and have malfunctioned.”

The Secretary of State’s expression turned grim instantly. He looked at the person in charge, his eyes full of anger:

”You just said they were our eyes, what’s going on now? Are they blind?”

The person in charge was too scared to make a sound, his body trembling slightly.

The Secretary of State looked at the Engineer again. ”When can they be fixed?”

His tone brooked no refusal.

The person in charge hurriedly interjected:

”No need to fix them, and they can’t be fixed, unless we bring the satellites down from the sky.”

The Secretary of State’s dissatisfaction deepened.

”Are you saying that all our satellites are broken and cannot be repaired?”

His voice raised a few notches, the anger in his eyes seemingly ready to consume the person in charge.

The person in charge hurriedly explained with a smile:

”Don’t be agitated, Secretary of State. Our satellites malfunctioned entirely due to the impact of cosmic rays. Once the cosmic rays dissipate, our satellites will naturally return to normal.”

The Secretary of State finally breathed a sigh of relief. He wiped away the non-existent sweat from his forehead:

”Why didn’t you say so earlier? You scared me to death! I thought they were all broken!”

However, just as the Secretary of State finished speaking, the Engineer suddenly spoke up:

”The situation does not seem as optimistic as we imagined.”

His voice was low and hoarse, like a giant boulder crashing into everyone’s hearts.

The person in charge and the Secretary of State looked at this Engineer simultaneously.

”What do you mean? What is going on?”

The Secretary of State’s voice was urgent.

The Engineer took a deep breath and said slowly:

”We tested all the satellites and found that this cosmic ray event was exceptionally fierce.”

The Secretary of State urged impatiently: ”And then?”

The Engineer looked at him helplessly and finally had to tell the truth:

”Then, we discovered that all the satellites… have suffered fatal malfunctions!”

”In other words, they are all… unusable now!”

Upon hearing this, everyone present was dumbfounded!

”Unusable?”

”All of them are unusable?”

”There are hundreds of reconnaissance satellites!”

”Are you telling me they’re all scrapped just like that???”

The person in charge’s eyes widened, his face full of disbelief.

He shouted loudly: ”We haven’t had any malfunctions from cosmic rays before, how could it be this serious this time! Did you make a mistake in your testing?”

The Engineer got angry upon hearing this!

”Are you questioning our professionalism?”

”If that’s the case, you are welcome to find another Engineer team!”

The person in charge didn’t hesitate, quickly leaving the room, his panicked back looking somewhat comical in the corridor.

He really went to find another Engineer team to check the situation.

Soon, a well-known Engineer in the industry arrived with his team.

When they first arrived, their faces still carried a hint of relaxation and disdain!

”What kind of cosmic rays could destroy all our satellites? They must have gotten it wrong.”

The person in charge heard the Engineer’s words, and a smile appeared on his face, as if he had found a savior.

However, once this Engineer team began their work in earnest, the atmosphere gradually became tense.

They skillfully operated the testing equipment, their focused expressions becoming increasingly grave as time passed.

After a full few dozen minutes, the confidence on this Engineer’s face disappeared bit by bit, replaced by an increasingly grave expression.

Tiny beads of sweat broke out on his forehead, his brows knitted tightly together, and his previously relaxed eyes became filled with worry.

”How could this be…”

The Engineer muttered to himself, his hands trembling slightly, the test report in his hands feeling as heavy as a thousand pounds.
