Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 149 SunnyChapter 149 Sunny
It has to be said that Ye Qingyu’s command level is much more experienced than Russell’s. He just found the right opportunity to use a very basic ”bright light” skill, which almost caused Ayou to suffer a big loss.

When Ayou shook his head to get out of the blinded state, the sun cannon pursued by Lotte Sunflower almost missed its body.

Strictly speaking, Ayou himself was completely undefended at that moment.

If it weren’t for its floating ability, which could rely on the surge of air waves to passively dodge, it would have been firmly hit by this mid-level skill with a strong light attribute.

Russell, who was also rubbing his eyes, felt frightened when he saw some scale powder and fluff scattered by the aftermath of the solar cannon falling on Ayou’s side.

”Turn on the shadow form and attack with all your strength!”

Realizing that playing tactical tests with Ye Qingyu would only give the opponent a chance, Russell made a move and asked Ayou to activate all his firepower, preparing for a head-on confrontation with Lotte Sunflower.

In the shadow form, Ayou’s attack power increased to another level, and the number of phantoms scattered by the Nightmare Butterfly Shadow reached a total of nine.

Even if they don’t disperse deliberately, it will be difficult for Lotte Sunflower to quickly clear away too many phantoms at this time.

Moreover, Ye Qingyu also knew that Ayou’s phantom was not entirely used for cover. It seemed to have the rare ability to drive the phantom together to condense attack skills.

In other words, in a few seconds, Ayou will release at least seven or eight large and small Netherworld blasts, attacking Lotte Sunflower from all angles.

Ye Qingyu is well-informed, and it is not like she has never seen other entity-type phantom skills. She knows that the power of skills released by phantoms is much lower.

Even if nine phantoms attack at the same time, Ayou’s total damage does not really increase nine times.

With the energy intensity of the solar cannon and the restraint effect of the light system on the ghost system, judging from the data alone, it is not necessarily a disadvantage to conduct a direct bombardment.

Unfortunately, actual combat is not just about comparing numbers on paper.

No matter how specialized its leaves are, Lotte Sunflower does not have three heads and six arms, and can only release one solar cannon at a time.

As long as the opponent is not a fool, it is impossible for him to have several Nether Explosions lined up in a row and then be pierced through by a solar cannon.

Normally, Russell’s offensive must be one after another, attacking from both front and back, so that Lotte Sunflower will fall into the dilemma of focusing on one thing and losing the other.

If you confront Ayou like this, you will definitely be the one who suffers.

Therefore, Ye Qingyu changed the brave offensive mode just now and asked Lotte Sunflower to activate the defensive skills.

Hehe...

The ghostly laughter sounded again, and Lotte Sunflower quickly absorbed the surrounding light energy like a magnet, and in the blink of an eye, its entire body turned dazzling white.

Russell recognized this skill, it was the mid-level light skill ”Morning Light Coat”.

The effects of light skills don’t seem to be very complicated. As a mid-level defensive skill, Morning Light Coat has only one effect, which is to greatly increase one’s own energy resistance.

As the saying goes, the simpler the effect, the more exaggerated the bonus.

For a mid-level skill that only provides a single bonus, you don’t need to think too much to know that the increase must be quite exaggerated.

Defense skills are generally released faster than attack skills, and Lotte Sunflower’s Morning Shield is almost instantaneous.

Before Ayou completed charging up the Nether Explosion, its body had completely turned into light, and a pale golden light shield had been propped up around it.Buzz—!
Buzz-!
Immediately afterwards, several Nether Explosion Skills came with a bang, attacking Lotte Sunflower from all angles, from the front, back, left, and right.

As the audience watched nervously, the gray ghost energy group and the morning light shield were brazenly connected, and the continuous burst of energy stirred up ripples in the gym’s protective force field.

The audience sitting in the front row could even feel their clothes and hair being blown by the air waves that escaped through the protective force field.

However, Ayou’s strongest attack failed to severely damage Lotte Sunflower.

Under the continuous attack of the Nether Explosion, the protective light of Lotte Sunflower flickered twice and dimmed slightly, but it soon regained its stability under the continuous supplement of sunlight.

”Sure enough, the slow-moving pet beasts are either very fleshy themselves, or they have learned powerful defensive skills...”

Seeing this scene, Russell couldn’t help but have a new understanding of the strength of the gym’s pet beasts.

He expected that as one of the ace beasts of the Greenleaf Gym, Lotte Sunflower would not be easily defeated.

However, the strength of this morning light shield far exceeded his expectations, and it also caused a lot of frustration to Ayou.

After all, Ayou has fought many times with pet beasts of the same level or even one level higher than himself, and its powerful attack power has always been its most proud ability.

Although not every battle can kill the opponent instantly, and sometimes it will get into a fierce battle, but with full firepower, it can’t even break the opponent’s defense. This is the first time that this has happened.

”It would be great if I learned the basic night field...”

Sensing Ayou’s low mood of doubting Chongsheng, Russell also felt a little depressed.

In Ayou’s ability development column, there is obviously a skill that can very restrain Lotte Sunflower, but I am not patient enough and rush to challenge it without learning all the skills.

The primary night field has no ability to directly attack, and the control effect is only to interfere with the line of sight. However, for a beast that relies heavily on sunlight, this is an extremely fatal weakening.

If the intensity of sunlight in the venue can be weakened, Lotte Sunflower will not only be unable to continuously replenish energy, but the charging time of the solar cannon will also be much longer.

It’s a pity that the progress of understanding this skill is only half way. It’s obviously too late to make any last-minute remarks at this moment...

Now, the most effective tactic for Russell is still to face Todoroki head-on.

After this period of cultivation in the spiritual system, Ayou’s current total ability is comparable to that of most spiritual beasts. Even if the shadow form is turned on, it can sustain consumption for a long time.

Everyone is a gold-level third-level late-stage pet beast. Ayou is also Russell’s contracted pet beast, and this Lotte Sunflower is just a gym-standard pet beast.

If you can’t fight with hard power at all, then the ”Cocoon of Evolution” will be in vain!
Feeling Russell’s fighting spirit, Ayou no longer dwelled on the small setbacks. It maintained the highest number of nine butterfly shadows and fired wave after wave of Nether Blasts towards Lotte Sunflower.

Under this continuous onslaught, the situation seemed to have improved slightly.

Although the energy defense of the Dawn Shield is indeed excellent, Lotte Sunflower is always the one who takes the beating. It has been bombarded by Nether Explosion many times, so it is inevitable that it will still suffer some damage.

As long as Ayou doesn’t give it a chance to breathe and lets it use healing skills, even grinding can grind Lotte Sunflower to the point where it loses its combat effectiveness!
However, just when Russell thought he could secure his second victory through fire suppression, Ye Qingyu’s plain voice came again:

”Lotte Sunflower, use Sunny.”
