Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 108 Challenge the Greenleaf GymChapter 108 Challenge the Greenleaf Gym
After the first pet beast was defeated, Zhou Wen’s face darkened, apparently suffering some backlash.

However, Ye Qingyu spared his efforts when defeating Cang Yunque. Cang Yunque was mainly beaten until his energy was exhausted, but he did not suffer serious injuries. Therefore, Zhou Wen only felt slightly uncomfortable, which did not affect his ability to continue the second half of the challenge.

It’s a pity that Zhou Wen’s second pet beast is also a wind-type bird pet.

Compared with the Blue Skylark, this white-feathered swallow, which is also a gold-level bird, has too many special features.

It is good at using an intermediary skill called ”turbulence”. This skill can disrupt the opponent’s balance while attacking, but its attack power is almost the same as the wind blade.

The combat modes of the two pet beasts were basically the same, and Zhou Wen’s own talent did not seem to be combat-oriented. The second challenge ended quickly under the fire of the flying leaf storm.

Fortunately, he tried hard to maintain a calm expression when he was defeated, and no emoticons were captured by the audience.

After Zhou Wen, Russell quickly arrived at the battle site according to the broadcast notification.

Standing opposite Ye Qingyu, Russell could see the layout style of this gym more clearly.

In this battle field located under the huge patio, there are broad-leaved plants that are denser than ordinary groves. The surrounding watering devices will spray a few streams of water mist from time to time. The ground of the stadium is not an ordinary hardened ground. It is a primitive land.

Such an environment can, on the one hand, provide the environmental mimicry cultivation effect mentioned by Zhou Wen, and on the other hand, it can provide comprehensive benefits to the plant-type pet beasts fighting within the range.

Not to mention anything else, just the fertile dark soil underfoot can greatly improve the recovery effect of the forest tree demon’s rooting skills.

Regarding these external conditions, the challenger cannot say that there is anything unfair. The question is the challenge difficulty specially set by the gym.

Speaking of which, a challenge mode like Greenleaf Gym that just adds some environmental layouts of the same attributes is pretty good.

Some water-type gyms will also require contestants to fight on floating boards, and some rock-type gyms will even offer an outrageous challenge mode of climbing and fighting at the same time.

Returning to the preparation area to replace another forest tree demon, Ye Qingyu repeated to Russell the opening remarks he just said to Zhou Wen.

”This is your first time to challenge, so come on.”

All the challengers were beaten up today. Feeling that the badge issuance quota for this month was a bit high, she added an additional sentence, her eyes full of expectation.

Opening a gym is just Ye Qingyu’s job. In her free time, she also has to engage in her beloved tree planting business.

”Um...I’ll try my best.”

Turning his head slightly and looking around at the dozens of cameras scattered around, Russell stiffly smiled what he thought was the most normal smile.

Then, he raised his hand to summon Ayou.

When Ayou’s elegant and mysterious figure appeared among the green leaves, the tourists immediately started talking about it.

”What kind of pet beast is this? It’s so pretty!”

”It seems to be a UFO Hawkmoth...can this thing be taken out to fight in the gym?”

”Don’t talk nonsense, I work in the silk factory owned by Senluo Garment Company. The wings of ordinary UFO Hawkmoths are light in color, and there is basically no energy fluctuation. How can they have such momentum!”

With dark gray translucent wings and black fluff all over her body, Ayou’s appearance is generally in line with the racial characteristics of the UFO Hawkmoth.

But the ghost-type energy surrounding it was much richer than that of its kind, so the onlookers were a little confused for a while about what kind of pet beast Russell summoned.

Seeing a group of people in the audience picking up their mobile phones and taking pictures of themselves, Russell, who just wanted to finish the fight and leave immediately, immediately gave Ayou an attack order:

”Ayou, let’s attack with full firepower!”

The attack mode of this forest tree demon is very simple. It mainly focuses on defeating all means with one force and being ruthless to the end.

Ayou’s Nightmare Butterfly Shadow skill is very effective when faced with melee beasts like demon dogs and some single-target attacks, but it cannot provide much dodge effect when faced with such range skills that fly all over the sky.Instead of trying to guerrilla like Skylark and being beaten everywhere after a failed guerrilla attack, it is better to attack with all strength from the beginning.

After all, Ayou’s attack ability is not comparable to that of a skylark. If he attacks with all his strength, he may not lose to the forest tree demon.

call--!
”Charge! Blow them up!”

Upon hearing such an order, the militant Ayou was naturally very happy. It immediately turned on its shadow form, and then waved its wings to attack the forest tree demon.

Taking advantage of the opportunity for the forest tree demon to use its Rooting Skill as usual, Ayou scattered several butterfly shadows and charged up the Nether Explosion Skill together with the main body.

”Hmm...it seems interesting.”

The legendary beast master’s mental power was already very sharp. Feeling the intense ghost energy fluctuations coming from mid-air, Ye Qingyu turned the shovel in his hand, a faint smile flashing in his eyes.

Although the gym leader’s job is to screen out most of the weak players for the league’s major events, always winning can feel boring.

Realizing that Russell’s UFO Hawkmoth was very unusual, Ye Qingyu also became somewhat interested.

”After taking root, let’s use Flying Leaf Storm for a few rounds to see how it goes.”

However, the forest tree demon’s methods were limited, so she commanded the newly replaced forest tree demon to repeat the standard third trick.

Swah——

After receiving the order, the forest tree demon, which had taken root in the soil, waved its branches. The abundant plant energy enveloped a large number of leaves and rushed towards Ayou in a shrouded manner.

At the same time, Ayou’s Nether Explosion also completed charging.

Om-!
Under its deliberate control, gray ghost energy groups exploded in mid-air one after another, violently impacting the sky-wide leaves that almost obscured everyone’s vision.

Compared with the Wind Blade skill, which has a fast attack speed but mediocre damage, the scene of the confrontation between Nether Explosion and Flying Leaf Storm is completely different.

The Netherworld explosion condensed by Ayou’s body was so powerful that it directly exploded most of the flying leaves with a muffled sound.

The power of the Nether Explosion condensed by the clones was a bit inferior, but it was superior in number. In addition to knocking down large pieces of flying leaves, there was even a small Nether Explosion that passed through the interception of the Flying Leaf Storm and directly hit the forest tree demon.

Uh...

Being eroded by the ghost-type energy, the forest tree demon let out a low cry of pain, and then quickly mobilized the plant-type energy to repair the wounds on his body that seemed to be dry.

Seeing this scene, Russell felt happy and was about to order Ayou to pursue the victory.

However, Ye Qingyu, who had much more combat experience than him, immediately adjusted his strategy.

”Forest Dryad, use seeding.”

Under her command, the forest tree demon threw out two flying leaf storms to offset the new round of netherworld explosions, and at the same time sprinkled more than a dozen green seeds on the surrounding land.

These young seedlings catalyzed by plant energy grew in the wind, and in the blink of an eye they had grown into several small trees half as tall as the forest tree demons.

Russell didn’t know much about plant-based skills. When he saw this skill, he didn’t quite understand Ye Qingyu’s intention.

Could it be that a few small trees that looked like they could be broken with a kick could be used to resist the attack of the Netherworld Explosion?
However, Ye Qingyu soon showed Russell the clever use of sowing skills.

Before the next round of netherworld explosions arrived, the forest tree demon once again waved its branches to release the flying leaf storm, and the newly grown saplings seemed to have become part of its body, shooting out leaves one after another to join the massive flying leaf storm. .
