Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 143 Successful EvolutionChapter 143 Successful Evolution
Grind the mithril ore and the hard claws of the scimitar weasel into powder, add rhinoceros horn, white coral, acid-soluble stone and other materials. After fully heating and stirring, Russell added a few spoons of the buffer solution given at the auction. .

The completed active mithril mixture appears as a shiny silver-gray viscous liquid, which looks a bit like mercury, but is more lustrous.

Holding this small bottle of solution in his hand, Russell could still faintly feel a special energy fluctuation.

After the mixture cooled down slightly, he tried feeding the mantis a few sips.

Although the staff of the auction house have repeatedly emphasized that if the buffer solution is added too little, there is a certain danger in taking the mithril solution.

But this is a cultivation material formula after all, not a poison formula, so the dangers are relatively limited.

Moreover, if you drink a small amount, as long as it is not fatal at one time, Russell can eliminate the excess poison and chaotic energy in time with the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent.

sa...

”It’s so painful...”

After drinking a small amount of active mithril mixture, Dao Dao Mantis groaned.

Obviously, as an insect-type pet, consuming materials with strong steel-type energy will put a considerable load on the body.

At the same time, poison and chaotic energy began to emerge from its body.

Because Russell added the moderator according to the physical quality of the purple-gold pet beast, the complex energy in the mantis’ body increased rapidly.

Almost all of the newly added 5.00% growth progress is useless energy that looks dusty.

If there is no effective means to clear out this energy in time, the mantis, whose growth progress is about to reach full value, will evolve with nearly 5.00% of the chaotic energy.

As the saying goes, a rat’s droppings ruin a pot of porridge. If you underestimate the messy energy of only 5.00%, you may pay a very heavy price.

To put it simply, it is the least severe case that the effect of evolution is greatly reduced. It is entirely possible to have physical deformities or even directly lead to failure of evolution.

However, it was not an easy task for Russell to filter energy for a pet beast that was in the late third level and whose growth value had almost reached full value and had an increasing trend.

It took about 15 minutes for the mantis to drink the entire bottle of solution in small sips. During these 15 minutes, Russell was almost constantly removing messy energy from it.

This feeling of being like a water pump is even more tiring than sifting energy from dozens of silkworm pets.

The most terrible thing is that after the entire bottle of active mithril mixture was taken into the stomach, the speed of generating chaotic energy in the body of the mantis continued unabated.

When the energy fluctuations are the most violent, it even reaches the point where one percent of the chaotic energy will pop out every three seconds.

For the evolution of Daodao Mantis and for the improvement of his own strength, Russell can only eliminate these messy energies all the time.

This process was a test for both Daodao Mantis and Russell. Russell continued to use his beast-controlling talent and began to suffer from mental exhaustion.

The Daodao Mantis needs to endure the pain of its flesh and blood being turned into metal. It basically persists by relying on its will to become stronger and repair its body.

If it hadn’t been for the gradual start of evolution and the feedback of energy provided by the Broad Sword Mantis, which was gradually introduced into Russell’s body, he might not have been able to last for such a long time.

Fortunately, the evolution of the mantis was not as thorough as that of a worm turning into a cocoon and turning into a butterfly. After spending more than half an hour completely absorbing the energy of the advanced materials, it finally entered a quiet state of transformation.

During this period of time, Russell only needs to carefully protect Da Dao Mantis and not let him be disturbed by the outside world.

Because he was exhausted and needed to recuperate, he simply asked Lu Yinning to close the store, then moved a rocking chair and lay down next to Dao Mantis to rest.

After about an hour, the green shell of the mantis began to turn yellow and black, turning into a lifeless stone color.

This is a symbol of the gradual separation of the old and new shells, and the dryness and aging of the old shell.

Under this dark brown old shell, Russell could still faintly see the silver light flowing continuously, reconstructing the originally damaged body of Dao Dao Mantis.

When the energy is completely stable, the fourth-level mantis will tear apart this old shell and appear in front of Russell in a brand new form.Facing the transformation of the mantis, Russell was not worried about the difficulties it would encounter during the process of molting.

As an insect-type pet beast with gnawing mouthparts and sharp blade arms, breaking out of its shell and molting its skin is not a problem at all for the mantis.

Now, all you have to do is look forward to the results of its transformation.

…………

After all, it was evolving from a low level to an intermediate level. The transformation process of the Great Sword Mantis was a little long. After waiting for two or three hours, Russell lay on the rocking chair and fell asleep.

Anyway, with the energetic and reliable Lu Yinning standing by, he wasn’t worried about anything going wrong.

I don’t know how long it took, but while half asleep and half awake, Russell suddenly felt someone shaking his arm.

”Brother Russell, the insect shell of the mantis seems to have moved...”

Hearing Lu Yinning’s voice, Russell slowly opened his eyes and found that the sky outside the window had darkened.

”Did I sleep all day...?”

Rubbing his eyes, he immediately checked the evolutionary status of the Great Sword Mantis.

Sure enough, a long and narrow hole had cracked in its originally tight dark brown shell.

Although the situation inside the shell could not be seen clearly, the dazzling silver color was enough to firmly attract the attention of the two people.

The silver mantis race seems to have never appeared in the records of the Beast Control Alliance...!
Could it be that he created a brand new race of insect beasts?

As soon as this thought came up, Russell suddenly lost all sleepiness and immediately stared at Da Dao Mantis.

Daodao Mantis also seemed to feel the beast control master’s surging mood, and began to twist his new body that was fully formed.

The difficulty of molting is significantly lower than breaking out of a cocoon. After a few struggles, it tore open the thin shell and poked half of its body out of it.

Through the bright lights in the room, a large bug with a slender body, all parts of which basically conformed to the characteristics of the mantis family, but with a carapace as bright as mithril, suddenly appeared in front of Russell’s eyes.

In addition to the obvious changes in the color of its body, Russell also noticed the changes in its blade arm at first glance.

Probably due to the hard claws of the scimitar mantis, the sword arm of the mantis is no longer in the form of a catching foot that can be folded in half and is covered with barbs.

Viewed from the side, its new blade arms look more like two sharp ”L” shaped sickles.

Although the joints can still be folded slightly, it can be seen that the blade arms have basically lost their function of grabbing objects.

However, hard work also comes with rewards. At the expense of the functionality and flexibility of the blade arm, Da Dao Mantis gained full attack power.

First of all, the hardness of the blade arm has been greatly improved. Even without using the alloy claw skill, you can still see a very obvious metallic texture.

Secondly, its blade arm has sharp edges on both sides, and there is no such thing as a back. This structure will double its power whether it is chopping or thrusting.

Even if you just raise your arms to defend, it is a very troublesome counter-injury method for melee opponents without hardening skills.

If paired with some powerful melee skills, these new blade arms can turn into a pair of terrifying meat grinders.

”So handsome!”

Even though he only saw half of Da Dao Mantis at this moment, Russell still let out a heartfelt sigh.
