Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 139 A little bit of insect shockChapter 139 A little bit of insect shock
Three minutes later, Xu Youshan, barely dressed, hurried out of the room and raised his hand to summon a large bird with golden and white feathers and a streamlined body.

This is his signature pet beast, a late-level fifth-level wind and thunder peregrine falcon. It has the rare dual attributes of wind and thunder. It is very powerful in long-distance flight and explosive sprint.

If Xu Youshan is willing, he can also get some starting positions as regional captains by working for an organization like the Beast Taming Alliance.

Of course, the income is definitely not as high as at Flying Wing Shipping Company.

beep-!
After emerging from the beast control space, the Wind and Thunder Peregrine Falcon flapped its wings and circled in the air several times, obviously enjoying the morning sunshine and breeze.

And Xu Youshan didn’t waste any time. He immediately grabbed the Fenglei Peregrine Falcon’s legs and ordered it to fly towards the Royal Insect House.

For pets that are not big enough to fly with humans but are strong enough to carry the weight of an adult, holding on to the legs or connecting to a safety belt is a very common method of flying together.

Although there is a ban on air travel in urban areas, it is limited to high-altitude flights that overlook the entire city.

Abilities such as low-altitude gliding and levitation can be used at will.

The Fenglei Peregrine Falcon was very fast. Even with its own beast master, it still landed firmly at the entrance of the Insect House Breeding Farm three minutes later.

”Manager Xu, I have been busy cultivating these days and have not been able to fulfill my friendship as a landlord. Please forgive me.”

Seeing Xu Youshan falling from the sky, Russell smiled and greeted him.

At first, he didn’t like the staff around Ms. Tong Mingzhu, especially the housekeeper and manager Xu Youshan.

After all, the atmosphere in the Imperial Insect House has always been quite relaxed. As a social worker who had worked for many years in his previous life, Russell himself disliked certain workplace cultures.

Seeing that Manager Xu had a straight face and didn’t say a word except about work, it inevitably made people feel very reserved and difficult to relax.

However, after watching Xu Youshan and several subordinates quickly build a shipping branch with preliminary functions in the past few days, and basically all the materials he listed were delivered on time, Russell still had a lot of confidence in their professionalism. Big change.

But today, Manager Xu’s calm attitude seemed to have disappeared. He put away the pet beast, and his expression clearly showed eagerness.

”You said there are results? Can we see it now?”

Xu Youshan, who has always been good at false pleasantries in the workplace, didn’t even say polite words this time. He grabbed Russell and asked questions one after another, looking like he couldn’t wait to see the product.

”...Please come inside.”

Feeling that the pancakes he had just eaten were about to be shaken out by him, Russell quickly pointed to the two outermost incubation boxes of the breeding farm.

When Xu Youshan hurriedly walked through the door, Lu Yinning, who was waiting nearby, quickly introduced to him the breakthroughs Russell had made over the past week.

First of all, the strength of the worm threads and the viscosity of the mucus were tested using special instruments provided by Flying Wing Shipping Company. Both increased by almost %.

This value may seem small, and is still ten times short of the 30.00% or more required by Ms. Tong Mingzhu, but considering that it has only been a week, it is obviously quite good.

But Xu Youshan didn’t care too much about this value. After all, in the previous experiment, the material quality improvement ratio reached the highest level of almost 15.00%.

However, this is almost always the result of pulling seedlings to encourage growth, force-feeding cultivation materials, or even injecting cultivation materials.

No experiment has truly solved the most critical problem:
That is universal and transmissible.

It is meaningless to cultivate a small number of enhanced pet beasts through blunt means and high costs, and they do not survive to adulthood.

Sometimes, Xu Youshan even feels that those researchers who do anything to earn commissions are particularly crazy and look like members of a cult...

”The improvement in material strength is great, but I still need to take a look at those pet beasts.”

He had been tricked many times before, but now Xu Youshan already knew the most critical criteria for accepting cultivation results.

Don’t pay too much attention to the short-term optimization of materials. First check the status of the pet, which can eliminate most scammers and inferior breeding methods.

After all, after being force-fed with excessive amounts of cultivation materials, or even injected with other substances using instruments, the condition of a pet beast will definitely not be much better.

”Because the cultivation is still in the preliminary trial stage, we have done it more conservatively. What we have cultivated are these iron silkworms and weaver worms.” Hearing this, Lu Yinning generously opened the lid of the breeding box, revealing the normal ones among them. A pet animal cub munching on feed.

”...The state is active, full of energy, and the size has also grown a little. It is indeed well cultivated.”

Judging from the state of these insect-type beasts, Xu Youshan could hardly find anything wrong with them.

Iron silkworms and weaver worms are not mass-produced near Senluo City. These pet beast cubs are purchased and transported from nearby cities.

Because they were pet animals used for large-scale investment experiments, Xu Youshan checked their status one by one when handing over the goods.

At that time, after several days of transportation, although there were no serious problems with these pets, they were all in a state of weakness, far less lively and healthy than they are now.

And their actions of actively eating can also prove that no matter how effective the breeding method adopted by Russell is, at least it is not an evil approach, but a serious search for an optimized route suitable for the pet beast itself.

After all, there are no schools or hospitals in the wild. If a pet animal wants to survive, it must rely on instinct and intuition deep in its blood.

Even insect beasts with low intelligence usually don’t make mistakes when it comes to what is edible and what is harmful.

Seeing these little bugs holding the cultivation materials prepared by Russell and eating them with gusto, Xu Youshan completely put away his previous distrust and contempt.

”This is a comparison chart for your reference.”

Seeing the change in Xu Youshan’s mentality, Lu Yinning confidently handed him a few photos.

The content of the picture is very simple, it is a close-up of the mouthparts of a pet beast cub.

However, when Xu Youshan saw the photo, he was not as dismissive as Lu Yinning. After carefully comparing the content of the photo, his breathing quickened.

The reason why he was able to maintain emotional stability before was because he had seen similar situations in previous experiments.

The strength of the materials produced by the pet beast has a lot to do with its own condition, and the larvae grow quickly. In a comfortable environment, it is not uncommon to see a % increase in a short period of time.

The upper limit for the growth of insect-type beasts is there. If you just feed the beasts well, drink them well, and cultivate them carefully, the progress will soon come to a standstill.

However, the photo that Lu Yinning handed over just now clearly stated that ”the size, hardness and number of serrations of the mouthparts of iron silkworms and weaver worms have increased.”

Being able to cultivate a specific part accurately, this cultivation ability is terrifying!

”I understand the situation... I need to contact Chairman Tong immediately. Mr. Russell, your breeding technology is amazing. These materials and sample beasts are available. Can I take them away?”

With excitement, Xu Youshan unconsciously used honorifics when speaking.

It has to be said that the moment he realized that the young man in front of him could really change the plight of the shipping industry, he had already made up his mind to embrace it.

If this experiment can be successful, Feiyi Shipping Company will definitely vigorously develop its business in Senluo City, which will definitely include increasing investment to make the newly established branch bigger and stronger.

As the representative of the branch, Xu Youshan was directly promoted from a middle-level worker to the top of the group. This made him feel very excited.

Now, he has to quickly tell Ms. Tong Mingzhu the good news, and add some extra flair to show off his contribution...

”If you please... I worked overtime last night, so I’ll go catch up on my sleep.”

Russell agreed to Xu Youshan’s request without thinking.

Ms. Tong Mingzhu was extremely busy and could not stay in Senluo City to watch his cultivation. These pet beasts were originally given to her as a reassurance.

After speaking, Russell yawned and left the breeding ground, leaving only Xu Youshan’s handsome back wearing a T-shirt and slippers.

Of course, in the eyes of Xu Youshan today, his appearance has changed from ”having a hairless mouth but not being firm in doing things” to a casual and free-spirited outsider...

come to see? ”
