Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 144 Silver Winged Sword MantisChapter 144 Silver Winged Sword Mantis

After sticking his upper body out of the carapace, the mantis used his hands and mouth together, and quickly tore the old insect shell into pieces.

Under the light, its streamlined body shines with metallic silver light, looking like a carefully carved work of art.

Through this molt, the previously damaged limbs of the mantis have been completely repaired, and no signs of breakage can be seen.

sa...

”Feeling stronger!”

Slowly turning all the joints to adapt to his new body, Daodao Mantis’ joy was beyond words.

And Russell also received a lot of energy back at this moment of complete transformation, and his whole figure seemed to be immersed in a warm spring.

These abilities are both gentle and powerful. They not only make up for the losses caused by using the beast-controlling talent just now, but also rapidly improve all aspects of his physical fitness.

”Hiss...it feels so good...”

Feeling the warm current flowing into every inch of flesh and spirit, Russell felt that his soul was so happy that he was about to fly away.

This is only the promotion from the third level to the fourth level, which is comparable to the ultimate enjoyment. I wonder how happy those peak legendary beast masters will be when they are promoted to the ninth level.

After digesting the energy and feeding it back, he took a long breath, gathered his energy, and couldn’t wait to check the information after the evolution of the Great Sword Mantis:
”Silver Winged Sword Mantis

Attributes: Bug, Steel
Bloodline Level: Gold
Life energy level: Level

Skills: Stereoscopic Vision, Blade Arm, Alloy Claw, Unparalleled Fighting Will, Mantis Fist, Mithril Armor

Growth progress: 11%

Among them, insect-type energy accounts for 8% and steel-type energy accounts for 3%.
Ability development:

Silver Blade (not yet advanced, intermediate physical skills proficiency 30%, special metal mastery proficiency 21%)

Vulnerable mark (not yet understood, weakness spotting proficiency 10%, attack accuracy proficiency 40%)”

After Dadao Mantis successfully advanced, his bloodline level reached gold. Although this was something Russell expected, he still felt very happy.

The gold-level bloodline means that Dao Dao Mantis will no longer be weaker than most pet beasts in terms of physical fitness. At the same time, the total energy and offensive and defensive levels have been greatly improved.

Not to mention how powerful it is, at least when facing pet beasts such as giant wolfhounds, it will no longer be easy to have its limbs bitten off.

And when Russell turned his attention to Daodao Mantis’s skill bar, he felt that the real highlight was waiting here.

”Knife... your skill configuration is a bit foul, isn’t it?”

With a hint of luck, Russell sighed sincerely.

Although, with the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent and the blessing of various materials purchased with a lot of money, you can guess that its advanced results will not be much different.

But the Blade Mantis... It should be said that the skill configuration of the Silver Winged Blade Mantis completely exceeded his expectations.

It is no exaggeration to say that the skill level of this silver-winged sword beetle is now not inferior to that of Ayou who started earlier and learned several rare skills.

First of all, during this advancement process, the understanding progress of Mantis Fist was directly completed, which is not surprising.

After all, this is one of the skills that Daodao Mantis has been training since the middle of the third level. He had an epiphany when he advanced, which is a very common situation in the process of cultivating pet beasts. The effect of Mantis Fist is similar to what Russell expected. It is a purely passive skill that can increase multiple attributes such as critical hit, dodge, attack speed, and movement speed.

Generally speaking, the improvement effect of such a skill is not immediate, but the bonus is extremely comprehensive and can benefit the pet beast for life.

Russell himself likes this type of skills. After all, active skills require energy to be used, and are also affected by various factors such as environment, battle situation, command ability, and skill proficiency.

As for passive skills, once you learn them, they will always be effective. The bonus may be slightly lower, but they are more stable and worry-free.

When learning skills, there are passive and passive options. This was one of his gold medal rules when playing games in his previous life.

After reading the information about Mantis Fist, Russell turned his attention to the newly learned mithril armor and the two skills in the skill development column.

The effect of the Mithril Armor skill is not complicated. The passive effect is to increase one’s own energy resistance. When actively activated, the energy refraction effect can be obtained.

Energy resistance is commonly known as magic resistance, which can reduce damage from energy skill attacks. This effect is solid and useful, but there is nothing to say.

It is worth mentioning that it is mainly due to the energy refraction effect produced when the mithril armor is actively activated.

The so-called energy refraction essentially reduces the damage received from energy-based attacks, but unlike pure resistance, this effect is a percentage effect that can take effect no matter what.

To put it simply, energy resistance can be regarded as a fixed value, which mainly plays a role in situations of similar strength.

If your resistance is 10 and your opponent’s energy attack is 9, it won’t even be able to break through your defense.

But when facing a more powerful opponent and being attacked by 100 or even 1000 points of energy, the damage reduction caused by energy resistance is still 10.

Energy refraction becomes stronger when it is strong and weak when it is weak.

The 20% refraction effect is only equivalent to 10 points of resistance when facing 2 points of energy attacks, but when facing hundreds or thousands of points of attacks, the effect of percentage refraction is very impressive.

At the same time, the attack deflection caused by refraction can sometimes disrupt the battlefield.

If a pet with an energy refraction effect gets into a fight with an enemy melee pet, people with a little knowledge will become timid when using energy attacks, for fear of hurting their teammates.

As for the silver blade, it is an advanced version of the alloy claw skill.

While retaining the effect of metalizing the double claws to increase attack power, this skill also comes with good metal toughness, making the blade arm of the Silver Winged Blade Mantis more difficult to damage in battle.

In addition, the silver blade also has good energy interactivity given by mithril.

Theoretically, as the proficiency of this skill increases, when faced with some low-to-mid-level energy attack skills, the Silver Wing Blade Mantis can directly tear the skill apart with his hands, or hit the skill back like a baseball.

Generally speaking, this evolution has almost perfectly inherited most of Mithril’s characteristics, transforming the Great Sword Mantis into a handsome insect that is very capable of restraining energy-attacking beasts.

In the ability development column, the last vulnerable mark is a pure insect-type skill that has nothing to do with the steel-type. It is common on fast-attack insect-type pets that are better at close combat.

Its effect is very simple, that is, it can mark the opponent with insect energy when attacking. If the marked position is attacked continuously, the damage received will continue to stack.

The level of this skill is not high, it is just a relatively rare mid-level insect skill, but for pet beasts with fast attack speed, it is a killing move that can tear apart the opponent’s defense.

Possessing the ”vulnerable mark” skill is an important piece of the puzzle that basically completes Daodao Mantis’s fast-attack guerrilla tactics.
