Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 39 Skill GuidanceChapter 39 Skill Guidance

According to Dr. Xia Mu and Zhou Jian, after the brief exchange of energy, Russell’s contact with the Candle Shadow Moth has basically ended. He is now just holding the tired Candle Shadow Moth and does not make any other movements.

But in fact, his communication with Candle Shadow Moth is still going on.

After sharing the energy, Candle Shadow Moth sent another spiritual message to Russell:
”Your pet moth... I want to meet it.”

This request surprised him. Could it be that the insect affinity effect brought by the ”Cocoon of Evolution” also had a bonus on the pet beasts he contracted?
Ayou has unknowingly become a social butterfly among moth pets?

However, thinking that the candle shadow moth must not have any ill intentions anyway, Russell summoned Ayou generously.

call--?
Got a fight?
Some time ago, almost every time he left the Insect Control Room, he went to participate in a competition. When he came out of the Insect Control Room, Ayou immediately waved his wings and assumed a fighting posture.

But soon, it discovered that the life energy level of the candle shadow moth in front of it was much higher than its own, and it had no intention of fighting at all.

This situation made him experience a feeling he had never experienced before.

It’s like a loving elder looking at the talented young man in the clan.

Then, the Candle Shadow Moth propped up its tired body, flapped its wings slightly, and controlled the energy in the body to flow regularly.

This kind of behavior is not a one-way transfer of energy shared with Russell, but like a demonstration.

Seeing this scene, Russell immediately realized that Candle Shadow Moth was teaching Ayou how to use skills!
Sure enough, after a moment, he received a reminder from the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent.

”Your pet has received guidance from a high-level pet of the same attribute, gained enlightenment in shadow control, and can try to advance its skills.”

For Russell, the value of this news is no less than unlocking the moth pet’s halo permissions just now.

Although the ability to control shadows is not closely related to skill attack power, it can be used to strengthen the shadow arrows that both he and Ayou feel are useless, so they rarely use them.

In the document provided by Dr. Natsuki, it happened to be mentioned that the ordinary shadow moth has a move to shoot the enemy’s shadow with its ghost ability, which can cause the body to freeze.

First, pin the target in place, and then use the Nether Explosion to bomb at a fixed point. It feels wonderful just thinking about it~
Of course, Russell also knew that there was no such thing as a free lunch, so he helped him twice in succession. Next, it was the turn of this lord-level candle shadow moth to make a request.

”What can I do for you?”

Out of genuine gratitude, Russell took the initiative to ask it.

As long as the request made by Candle Shadow Moth is not too outrageous, he will try his best to fulfill it.

Of course, if the request made by the Candle Shadow Moth is to hand over pet beast eggs to ”entrust the orphan” like the Queen Bee, then Russell will naturally be even more demanding.

”My people are still in the forest...danger!”

Hearing Russell’s words, the candle shadow moth became slightly excited and flapped its wings several times.

The Beast Taming Alliance’s method of taming wild beasts is not rough. On the contrary, most of the pet beasts who have signed contracts with the beast masters live a much more nourishing life than in the wild. After this period of getting along, Candle Shadow Moth itself has completely accepted it. The fate of becoming a pet beast contracted by a certain Senluo City Sheriff.

However, it was worried about its kin who were not brought to the animal pen together.

After all, ordinary shadow moths are only bronze-level pet beasts, and the racial talent for controlling shadows cannot be used under any circumstances. Without the protection of the leader, they can be expected to be in a difficult situation in the Black Dew Forest.

”Uh... are you so satisfied...”

Unexpectedly, Zhuying Moth’s request was so simple, so simple that it didn’t need to be completed at all. Russell, who had just received many benefits, was a little embarrassed.

In fact, Zhuying Moth’s worries were completely unnecessary.

The reason why Senluo City sent a special hunting team to capture a gold-level pet beast was to form a night watch team composed of shadow moths.

To patrol an urban area, it is far from enough to rely on a single candle shadow moth.

After taming the Candleshade Moth and arranging a suitable beast master for it, the next step is to find the group it once ruled. But, doesn’t the book say that wild pets are wild and difficult to tame, and it takes a lot of money to tame them?
It can be seen from the layers of security in the animal pens of the Senluo Beast Taming Alliance, as well as the red, yellow and green warning light mechanism, that most wild pet beasts should still fit this description.

How come the insect lord-level pet beasts such as Candle Shadow Moth and Queen Bee were not only tamed in just a few days, but they also wanted to bring the entire clan to join humans...

Is it true that insect people will never be slaves unless they have food and shelter?

In other words, knowing how to rely on humans who are now the most powerful and not too harsh on foreigners is also a manifestation of the adaptability of insect beasts?
But no matter what, Russell decisively gave Zhuying Moth a reassurance:

”Don’t worry, I guarantee that your kindred will be brought here soon, and we can also arrange a life with food and shelter for them.”

With this assurance, the Candle Shadow Moth quickly calmed down. It flew around Russell twice and then landed back on the starry orchid.

After spending so much energy, of course I need to take more supplements.

…………

Seeing that Russell finally put the Candle Shadow Moth back, Dr. Natsuki, who was almost out of curiosity, immediately came up to him.

”Russell, I would like you to reveal more information, within reason.”

Although he didn’t know exactly what happened, he could tell from Russell’s unconcealed joyful expression that the boy’s goal of contacting the lord-level moth pet beast must have been achieved.

Russell can completely understand Dr. Natsuki’s eagerness.

We are all adults, so Dr. Natsuki naturally had a purpose in giving him so many permissions and conveniences as a pet shop owner and a new beast master.

Moreover, it is not an excessive purpose to obtain some new data from Russell to study insect beasts.

Although he would never reveal the secret of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent to others, there was nothing wrong with revealing some information half-truthfully.

After pretending to think for a while, Russell said the words he had prepared before coming to the animal pen.

”To tell you the truth, my beast-controlling talent is called Insect Whisperer. Its effect is to greatly increase the favorability of insect-type pets towards me, and at the same time, I can communicate with them without any barriers. The Candle Shadow Moth just told me that it misses the tribe. , want to take them all.”

This is the external talent content that he finalized after careful consideration. It can explain his various interactions with the insect beasts without revealing too much strategic value.

In general, it means showing your own value, but not fully showing it.

If he is too conservative and does not show any value, he will lose the opportunity to cooperate with the big boss and lose a lot of help on the road to development.

But Russell also had to consider the terrifying scale of the insect industry and the astronomical profits behind it.

As the saying goes, people die for wealth and birds die for food. A rainbow veil alarmed Tian Xiuqi. If someone discovers that he can continue to cultivate insect beasts of this level by relying on his talent, the chance of losing his personal freedom is probably very high. high.

After much consideration, Russell felt that this fake talent of ”Insect Whisperer” was a very good term.

Telepathy is a common ability only for pet beasts above the Purple Gold level. Under this, except for a small number of races with naturally outstanding spiritual power, other pet beasts must sign a contract with a beast master to accurately convey their thoughts.

However, although the insect industry is developed, there are only a handful of people who actually contract with beasts such as the Black-ringed Silkworm and the Big Mulberry Silkworm.

In the absence of a contract to establish a spiritual link, the breeder can usually only judge the pet’s intentions based on some physical actions.

Doing so is inefficient and prone to misunderstandings.

Therefore, beast masters with telepathic talents have always been the most in-demand and scarce talents in various breeding and breeding industries.

The Insect Whisperer talent described by Russell also comes with a super high affinity for insects, which solves the problem of ”being able to talk, but the pet beast is not necessarily willing to talk” from the source, and its practicality and timeliness are impeccable.

Based on this alone, Russell is qualified enough to continue to cooperate with Dr. Natsuki, who is very interested in insect research.
