Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 29 Combat TalentsChapter 29 Combat Talents

The next morning, Russell arrived at the competition venue on time.

The venue for the semi-finals was changed to a larger medium-sized professional arena. The radius of the venue was close to meters, and the multi-layered stands could accommodate spectators.

Even through the sophisticated protective force field with sound insulation effect, Russell could hear the lively discussion in the audience.

A moment later, Lindsay appeared on the stage riding the Tongxin Pigeon, and enthusiastically introduced the two sides of the first game of the semi-finals:
”The next person to appear is Chang Shan, an outstanding student of the combat department of Senluo Beast Mastering Academy. His opponent is Russell, the insect beast master who performed well in the group stage and advanced with a complete victory record. Can he bring us a new challenge today? Where’s the surprise?”

Obviously, he was deeply impressed by Russell who brought two insect beasts and defeated the Blood-fang Greedy Wolf.

After listening to the opening remarks, Chang Shan first summoned his pet beast.

His starting pet beast is a silver-level desert thorn. This plant-type pet beast looks like a messy thorn bush and looks very ordinary.

Like its ordinary appearance, Desert Thorn’s attack mode is relatively simple. In addition to the entanglement and whipping that all vine beasts can master, it only has some low-level skills such as shooting spikes.

Being rated as a silver-level pet mainly depends on its extremely tenacious vitality.

With the racial talent skill ”Strong Root System”, desert thorns can thrive in barren desert areas. In an environment with sufficient moisture and nutrients, it can grow into a terrifying thorn bush in a very short time.

However, the thorn’s special skill, thorn vine strangulation, cannot target air targets. When faced with flying targets, it can only attack by waving its branches and shooting out spikes.

The power and accuracy of this spike skill are average. Compared with Ayou’s long-range attack, which masters Butterfly Shadow and Nether Explosion, Russell feels that it will hardly gain any advantage.

The countdown sounded, and Russell, who had the upper hand in the air, directly ordered Ayou to launch an offensive.

”Replenish Butterfly Shadow at any time and continue to use Nether Explosion Attack.”

Faced with opponents like Desert Thorns who have almost no mobility, the fire suppression of Netherworld Explosion can be used perfectly.

When Ayou was accumulating power for the Nether Explosion, Chang Shan gave the desert thorns an order to grow with all their strength, but he did not let the new thorns spread out in all directions. Instead, they were piled up layer by layer, forming a huge ball of thorns.

Looking at this scene, Russell was a little confused.

Forming into a ball to crush and attack is indeed an attack method used by vine beasts. With the characteristics of desert thorns covered with thorns, even melee beasts such as devil dogs and blood-toothed wolves may not be willing to face them head-on. Hard to get such a big thorn ball.

However, this move, like entanglement, cannot be ignored.

A third-level silver-level pet beast would not be able to grow into a ball of thorns more than ten meters tall and knock Ayou down from the sky...

Not sure what Chang Shan wanted to do, Russell decided to let’s fire a few shots first!

After several days of cultivation in terms of mental attributes, Ayou’s skill casting speed has improved slightly. In just over four seconds, the Netherworld Explosion has arrived.

Because the desert thorns did not move at all during the charging process, this Nether Explosion hit accurately, and the whistling ghost energy enveloped the entire thorn ball.

hum-

As Ayou’s mental power increased, the power of the energy skills it released also increased. Even if there were layers of branches taking off the force, the explosion still caused considerable damage.

Through the thorn bushes that had become several times thinner in an instant, Russell could vaguely see several rhizomes as thick as an adult’s thigh buried in the soil, constantly absorbing nutrients.

With the supply of the power of the earth, the desert thorns continue to give birth to new vines, working hard to repair the gaps caused by the Netherworld explosion.

But Russell did not intend to give Chang Shan a chance to breathe. Under his command, Ayou had already condensed the next Nether Explosion.

”Ayou, aim at the roots of the desert thorns and continue the attack!” Even desert thorns with very strong vitality will quickly lose their combat capabilities if their root systems are damaged and cannot take root to absorb energy from the earth.

However, how can a player who can reach the semi-finals of the rookie group only have this ability.

After resisting a netherworld blast, a ball of green light appeared in Chang Shan’s palm and slowly poured into the root system of the thorns.

Nourished by this energy, the growth rate of the desert thorns suddenly doubled several times. The wildly growing vines not only immediately repaired the parts destroyed by the Netherworld blast, but even expanded the thorn ball a few points again.

”Combat talent?”

Meeting an opponent with combat talent for the first time, Russell felt the pressure doubled.

The innate ability used by Chang Shan is called ”Rejuvenation”, which can infuse vitality into the pet beast at the expense of his own physical strength and energy.

There is a sufficient supply of vitality, coupled with the excellent recovery speed of Desert Thorns itself. As long as it is not instantly killed by one blow or hits a vital point, other injuries can be restored to the original state in a very short time.

He was able to advance to the semi-finals with Desert Thorns, which was not very powerful in attack but also somewhat bulky. Most of it relied on this innate skill.

According to different talents, the contract is the most suitable pet beast for you, allowing many pet beasts that are quite ordinary in the wild to make use of their strengths and avoid their weaknesses, and become a powerful fighting force on their own. This is the wonder of beast control talent.

The steady flow of cultivation talents, coupled with the explosive improvement of combat talents, is a very common and classic situation in beast control competitions.

With Chang Shan’s blessing, not only did the growth rate of the desert thorns increase significantly, but the tenacity of the vines was also improved. The effect of the second nether blast was significantly reduced, and it could not even open a gap.

Since the number of broken vines was far less than the number of new ones, the desert thorns who had taken a breath immediately began to fight back.

I saw it stretching out more than ten vine whips and waving it like it was life-threatening.

The vitality increases the growth of plant-type pets in all aspects, and naturally includes the ability to generate spikes. It takes less than three seconds after each vine of the desert thorns shoots out spikes for new spikes to grow. .

In the blink of an eye, dense spikes shot towards Ayou like a rain of arrows.

The attack power of these spikes is not high, and even a small body like the UFO Hawkmoth can withstand several thorns.

But the problem is, there are just too many spikes.

If you resist forcefully, you may be hit by more than a dozen spikes every second, or you may be nailed to a sieve in a short time.

Forced by the situation, Russell could only change his strategy.

”Pay attention to using the butterfly shadow to dodge, and look for opportunities to use shadow arrows to shoot the outer vines!”

Since the regeneration speed of the desert thorns itself is too fast, which has exceeded the killing speed of the Nether Explosion, he can only direct Ayou to dodge while trying to attack the vines protruding from the thorn balls in order to reduce the range and range of the spikes. frequency.

However, the attack power of the Shadow Arrow is quite mediocre. One hit can barely break a vine, and the attack effect is very unsatisfactory.

In this way, the situation on the field changed from Ayou taking advantage of the air and violently bombing, to a flapping moth constantly escaping among the spikes flying in the sky.

Fortunately, the contestants in the rookie group are all second- and third-level beast masters. The energy feedback brought by low-level beasts to the beast masters is still very limited, and cannot satisfy the physical load of using combat beast master talents for a long time. .

Before Ayou was knocked down from the sky by the spikes, Chang Shan’s physical strength could no longer bear it.

call--!
When the green light lingering among the roots of desert thorns dissipated, before Russell could issue an order, Ayou, whose wings had been shot with several gaps, seized the opportunity, and under the cover of the phantom, used a Nether Explosion to shatter the vines it waved. strip.
