Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 9 Cultivation RouteChapter 9 Cultivation Route
Half a day later, Russell held up a page with a slightly sloppy cultivation plan and laughed out loud.

”I might actually be a genius! Hahahaha.”

After rummaging through a bunch of information and searching more than a dozen articles on pet beast breeding related forums, he finally found a set of low-level skills that were highly adapted to the UFO Hawk Moth.

The first is the common skill Shadow Clone of the normal system. The effect of this skill is to create several phantoms to interfere with local judgment, thereby achieving the effect of increasing the dodge rate.

The higher the skill proficiency, the more shadows will be created. At the same time, the lifelikeness and confusion effect of the shadow will also be affected by the appearance of the pet beast itself.

When flying at full speed, the UFO Hawkmoth looks like a blurry black shadow with the blessing of the Dark Scale Powder. When combined with the shadow clone, Russell guessed that the effect should be very good.

Just in this way, Ayou, as a long-range energy output pet beast, has learned two defensive skills.

The potential and energy of each pet beast are limited, and skills cannot be learned but must be used skillfully to achieve maximum effect.

Mastering a large number of miscellaneous skills may not be as effective as one specialized skill in actual combat.

Therefore, instead of constantly learning new skills, find the right direction, specialize in a few skills that are well matched and can exert the effect of 1+1>2, and try to upgrade the proficient initial skills into advanced skills through special training. This is the wisest cultivation route.

With two defensive skills that provide dodge to ensure survival and output environment, Russell does not intend to let Ayou learn the same type of output skills that are almost the same as the power of Shadow Arrow. It is a waste of time and potential.

The output skills that Ayou has specialized in from the beginning must be powerful in order to make up for the disadvantages caused by bloodline and level.

Otherwise, Ayou would probably turn into a fluttering moth with no dodge but weak attack power.

The main attack skill set by Russell is the low-level skill of the ghost system - Netherworld Explosion.

The power of this skill is extremely exaggerated. It not only crushes a lot of mid-level skills, but is even comparable to a small number of high-level skills. In low-level beast-control competitions, as long as the attributes are not at a disadvantage, it can basically defeat most of them with one blow. opponent.

In addition, Nether Explosion also inherits the unpredictable characteristics of ghost skills. When the skill is successfully released, the ghost energy full of dark and destructive power will explode directly next to the target, unless the opponent has energy detection skills or does it in advance. Be well prepared, otherwise it will be very difficult to avoid.

However, Nether Explosion has an extremely fatal weakness, which is also the main reason why it is classified as a low-level skill:

——That’s a ridiculously long charging time.

In the case of insufficient proficiency, it takes at least five seconds to condense energy and release a nether blast. As the pet beast becomes more proficient in using the skills, this time will be slightly reduced, but it is difficult to reduce it to less than three seconds.

In an ever-changing actual battle, charging the stance for three to four seconds is enough for the opponent to launch several weak attacks.

Because of this, except for military beast masters who work as a team in every operation and whose long-range output players only need fixed-point bombing, almost no one chooses to let their pet beasts learn the Nether Explosion skill.

Relying on the Dark Scale Powder and Shadow Clone to confuse the enemy and delay the charging of the Nether Explosion. This is the training route that Russell decided after repeated thinking and extensive comparison between the low-level skills of the insect system and the ghost system.

Some scholars have imagined this combination before, but they only stayed at the purely theoretical stage.

Because ordinary UFO Hawkmoths are restricted by the bronze-level bloodline, they will only be at the second-level level throughout their lives. No matter how powerful the Nether Explosion skill is, it still needs the support of the pet’s own attributes.

The Nether Explosion used by the second-level pet beasts can barely injure the third-level non-human shield pet beasts, and the higher ones are still scraping and scratching without the value of in-depth development and research.

It wasn’t until Russell, who was gifted with the ”Cocoon of Evolution”, signed a contract with Ayou that this idea was wild, but due to practical factors, the combination that had never been practiced by anyone had a chance to be carried forward.

After determining the training route, it is time to plan the steps for skill acquisition.

If you want your pet beast to accumulate experience and learn its skills on its own, combat is an essential part.

Fortunately, Shadow Clone and Nether Explosion are not rare skills. There are many strategies on how to master these two skills on the Internet.

To train the shadow clone, you need to improve the beast’s ability to dodge and move, and at the same time, let it master the technique of using weak mental power to interfere with the enemy’s vision and keep the residual image of itself from dissipating. This skill is easy to get started, but the key lies in the virtual reality created. The number of shadows must be large enough and realistic enough to truly confuse the opponent.

To practice Nether Explosion, you need to improve your control over energy. When the pet beast can accumulate and maintain ghost energy to a certain scale, and can actively control the energy group to explode, even if you have initially mastered the Nether Explosion skill, it can be said to be quite simple and crude. In order for Ayou to get used to the battle rhythm of maintaining the shadow clone while releasing other skills from the beginning, Russell decided to practice the two skills simultaneously.

After comprehensively considering the distribution of training targets, safety, training efficiency and other factors, he finally set the training location at a trial ground outside the Black Dew Forest.

It’s not that Russell quickly forgot the news about the recent disappearance of many people in the Black Dew Forest. The reason why he made up his mind so decisively was simply because the trial ground was not actually a real wilderness.

To put it simply, the training ground is a place specially established by the Beast Mastering Alliance for novice beast masters to hone their skills.

On the premise of basically maintaining the original appearance of the wild land to ensure the effectiveness of the trial, each trial site has clear boundaries, with multiple safety points and monitoring points distributed inside. The management will also regularly organize specialized professional beast masters to clean up For pet beasts that are too powerful within the scope of the trial, as long as they do not seek their own death excessively, there is usually no need to worry about safety issues.

Correspondingly, there are expensive tickets to the trial ground and a mechanism that requires queuing to make reservations.

Fortunately, today, when Russell was collecting training strategies from all over the world, the ”Public Cultivating Experts” that he followed a few days ago published a new article.

”Advanced Guide to Gathering Wool in the Trial Ground, There is a Certain Threshold, Be Careful and Don’t Spoil”

The article stated that all the major beast control academies in Senluo City have recently ushered in the graduation season. The trial ground is overloaded and a group of part-time beast control masters need to be recruited to maintain the environment.

Since the work is not difficult but requires more manpower, this part-time recruitment does not set a high professional threshold. Any beast master with basic experience in cultivating pet animals can sign up.

After completing a week of maintenance work, part-time workers can receive a reward of 500 credit points. This salary can only be said to be barely acceptable. The real ”grab” part is that they can enter the trial field for free, and also No need to queue up to make a reservation.

However, the screenshot of the recruitment announcement posted by ”Civilian Cultivator Little Experts” also states that the duty of the maintenance personnel of the proving ground is to take care of and train the newly released wild beasts in the venue. They are not allowed to injure any pet beasts in the venue. This violates the regulations. The stipulator will cancel the reward and double the compensation.

To sum up briefly, if you want to sneak into the training ground as a worker and allow your pet beasts to receive sufficient practical training like a customer, the premise is that you have no intention or need to confront wild pet beasts head-on.

”Civilians cultivating little experts” was also specifically mentioned at the end of the article. It is recommended that beast masters who bring healing and auxiliary beasts participate in this part-time job.

At first glance, these requirements seemed to be contrary to Russell’s needs, but the key to plucking the wool was tricky angles and not letting go of any possibility. After some analysis, he successfully found the entry point.

Shadow clone skills need to be learned by avoiding attacks. The early training content of Nether Explosion is energy accumulation and maintenance. As long as the energy group is not detonated, it will naturally not hurt the partner.

After sorting out the recent training plan, Russell quickly logged into the official website of the Senluo City Beast Control Alliance and filled out the registration information under the part-time recruitment link at the trial ground.

His predecessor was a serious graduate of the Training Department of the Beast Control Academy, and he also had a resume of running a pet shop. Not long after submitting the application, Russell received the news that he had passed the review, informing him that he would be contacted in Senluo City at o’clock in the morning three days later. Gather at the gate of the camp in Black Dew Forest.

After reading the message from the proving ground management office and closing his phone, Russell felt that his days seemed to become more fulfilling.

And...it seems to be a bit too fulfilling!
When Ayou’s joy of evolving to the silver level gradually dissipated, he suddenly realized that his schedule was completely conflicted.

The part-time job at the trial site lasts for a whole week and must be stationed in the wild without returning. The insect beasts in the insect room need to be taken care of every day, and the gray silk ordered by the performer Tian Tian must be delivered on time every three to five days. Come to the door, unless Russell learns a shadow clone himself first, otherwise both parties will definitely be delayed.

If it was just this time, it would be easier to handle. Asking a friend to help for a few days, or going to the Senluo City Breeding Center to rent the newly developed breeding robot at a high price would solve the problem.

But now that he has decided to take the route of a professional beast master, similar situations will only increase in the future.

After all, actual combat is always the best way to cultivate pet beasts, and it is also an indispensable key link. Even if you have the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent, you will not be able to cultivate powerful pet beasts by staying at home all day long.

Whether you are venturing into the wild for training, participating in a beast-controlling competition, or traveling to other cities to challenge gymnasiums, you will need to leave the insect-controlling house, which may take at least a few days or may take up to a month.

Relying on the high-quality gray silk, Yuchongwu’s business has just begun to pick up a little bit. If it doesn’t want to close down, recruiting employees must be put on the agenda.

”...I am still working here and there to earn living expenses, and I have to pay wages to others. What kind of resentful boss am I?”

Silently complaining, he took out his mobile phone again, opened the recruitment platform, and published a recruitment title titled ”Recruiting interns, average market price, food and accommodation included, students first, best choice to earn training course credits” information.
