Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 30 Breeding MaterialsChapter 30 Breeding Materials
A beastmaster with combat talents, his combat style focuses on defeating his opponents quickly with the power of thunder.

When the desert thorns were unable to attack Ayou for a long time and Changshan was exhausted, their main pet’s decline could no longer be restored.

”The UFO Hawkmoth...isn’t it a production beast? I may have taken a fake pet encyclopedia course...”

Looking at the desert thorns that were once again blown up by the Netherworld explosion, he could only reluctantly accept the fact that he had stopped in the semi-finals of the rookie group.

Before the start of the semi-finals, Chang Shan heard from his classmates in the academy that a fierce man with an insect-type pet beast came out of the rookie competition. He thought there was some luck involved, but he didn’t expect it to be so fierce...

In several previous battles, Chang Shan had never encountered an opponent as difficult as Russell.

Usually, he would let the desert thorns fight with the opponent’s pet beast for a while. When the vines successfully entangled the opponent, or they tried to resist the rolling thorn ball head-on, he would find an opportunity to win with one blow through the ”Rejuvenate” talent.

If the tactics go well, Chang Shan will not activate his beast mastering talent for more than ten seconds each time. With the strength of his third-level beast master, he can use ”Rejuvenate” four or five times in a row, which is enough to deal with most opponents of the same level.

However, the attack power of the UFO Hawk Moth was ridiculously high. One Nether Explosion almost knocked out the Desert Thorns in a state of victory. Chang Shan was so frightened that he didn’t dare to test it slowly anymore, and he immediately activated his beast control talent.

With the blessing of the ”Rejuvenate” talent, the Desert Thorn temporarily gained the upper hand with its strong recovery ability. From the audience’s perspective, it seemed that it was chasing the UFO Hawk Moth, but the person involved, Chang Shan, knew very well that once the spikes fired Stop, and Desert Thorns will soon face an unbearable counterattack.

Facts have also proved this. A few seconds after he was exhausted and could no longer infuse life into the desert thorns, Ayou regained the initiative. Several Nether Explosions directly sent the desert thorns back to Changshan’s imperial beast. space.

”You win……”

When the score reached -, Chang Shan did not summon the second pet beast, but directly chose to surrender.

Although from the group stage to the semi-finals, Desert Thorns could not always beat two, his second pet was also a slow-moving vine pet without the blessing of ”rejuvenation”. There is nothing more than a living target in front of you.

In order to avoid unnecessary injuries to his pet beast, there was no need for Chang Shan to fight the second game.

”Another wonderful game. The graceful figure of the UFO Hawkmoth cleverly resolved the dragnet of thorns. The prey and the hunter were instantly reversed. Let us congratulate Russell from Yuchongwu for advancing to the finals of this season’s rookie group. See you in the finals. !”

Unexpectedly, half of the semi-finals ended in less than 5 minutes. Lindsay seemed very happy to be able to leave work early, and he poured in all kinds of compliments without hesitation.

”Uh, now you advance to the finals?”

Looking at Chang Shan’s leaving figure, Russell was a little confused for a moment.

Although the process was a little embarrassing, the victory was generally quite easy.

As long as you use the butterfly shadow and dark scale powder skills to avoid the opponent’s explosive period, in the normal state, Ayou can already face most third-level beasts without losing.

Coupled with the increasingly proficient Daodao Mantis with his alloy claws, his current strength should be considered one of the outstanding ones among the new beast masters in a second-tier city.

…………

After coming out of the arena, Russell was originally going to return to the Insect House, but before he took two steps, an usher came up to him with a smile on his face.

”Hello player Russell, please follow me here to receive the rewards for the schedule.”

After hearing the guide’s words, Russell remembered that by reaching the semi-finals of the rookie group, he could select the same rare cultivation material within the fifth level in the Beast Control Alliance’s warehouse.

The reward for qualifying in the group stage last time was only credits, which were credited to his account shortly after the game. Russell almost forgot about receiving the award after promotion.

He would naturally cooperate with such a good thing as receiving an award. After a while, Russell followed the usher to a warehouse on the upper floor of the Senluo Beast Control Alliance Building.

After passing through the security area consisting of three layers of iron gates and scanning machines, he finally saw a sect with ”No. Breeding Material Warehouse” printed on it. ”How can a warehouse be so mysterious...wait, birth materials!”

After seeing the content on the door plate clearly, Russell, who was a little impatient due to the multiple security checks, suddenly opened his eyes in surprise.

He originally thought that the so-called rare breeding materials were nothing more than rare pet beasts with better breeding effects than ordinary materials. He did not expect that the reward for the semi-finals of the rookie group would actually be breeding materials.

Strictly speaking, incubation materials are a detailed classification of cultivation materials. However, although there is only one word difference between the two, their rarity is completely different.

Ordinary breeding materials are generally obtained by collecting or hunting pet beasts. For professional hunting teams led by high-level beast masters, except for a few materials that can only be produced by eighth- and ninth-level pet beasts, ordinary mid- to high-level breeding materials They are also goods that can be produced stably.

However, the breeding materials only have a certain chance of being formed when certain accidents occur during the birth of the pet beast. Such a formation mechanism destined that even the lowest-level breeding materials are something that can only be encountered but cannot be obtained.

The extremely low yield, coupled with its extreme gentleness, can improve the efficacy of the pet beast’s bloodline, making the breeding material a treasure that all beast masters dream of.

The newcomer group competition is held four times a year, and those who reach the semi-finals can receive a pregnancy material. It is no wonder that the image of the Beast Control Alliance as a wealthy and powerful one is so deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

However, breeding materials are not a magic elixir, and they cannot achieve the effect of catching a pet beast and helping it to reborn and become a dragon or a phoenix.

After consuming the breeding materials, most pet beasts can only obtain a weak bloodline improvement effect, and they may not be compatible with the original race, and sometimes even produce side effects.

Only a very small number can truly usher in transformation.

For ordinary beast masters, the nature of the breeding material is more like a lottery ticket, an opportunity, rather than a stable improvement.

However, for Russell, who has the talent of ”Cocoon of Evolution”, the birth material is equivalent to getting a lottery ticket that can be scratched repeatedly until he wins!
As long as a breeding material and an insect-type pet beast are not completely mutually exclusive, even if it only creates a glimmer of possibility, he can eventually turn 1% into 100% through continuous screening and optimization.

To give a simple example, if a pet awakens a small amount of dragon blood by consuming a portion of dragon breeding materials, then it theoretically has the possibility of growing into a dragon or sub-dragon.

But theory is theory. In fact, a weak dragon bloodline is difficult to bring about substantial improvement, and may disappear over time.

If they want to try to strengthen this bloodline to the point where it can change the ability and even the form of the pet beast, the beast master can only collect dragon-type cultivation materials everywhere and feed them to the pet beast.

However, ordinary beast masters cannot guarantee that this process will be positive. The pet beast may not be able to absorb well the cultivation materials that have nothing to do with the original race. Even if it reluctantly absorbs, there is no guarantee that it will only absorb the part that is beneficial to itself.

Over time, those beast masters who forcefully pursue transformation often end up with the bloodline of their beasts becoming messy. Bird beasts develop heavy armor that affects their flight. Cat beasts have long horns on their heads and shortened tails, and their balance ability is greatly reduced. Waiting for embarrassing situations will be worse than the initial state.

Russell, on the other hand, does not have to worry about this risk at all.

As long as unnecessary energy is screened out for the pet after each breeding, even if the final benefit is not as great as expected, there will be no side effects.

Small progress is progress, and he is completely able to accept it.

Russell has also paid attention to matters related to incubation materials before, but this kind of materials is very expensive, and most types are in a state of marketability and cannot be purchased through ordinary channels.

Private transactions faced the risk of buying fake goods, so he didn’t rush to arrange pregnancy materials for Ayou.

Russell originally planned to save hundreds of thousands of credit points and then try his luck at the official auction held by the Beast Taming Alliance. Unexpectedly, after the semi-finals, the cultivation materials he had been longing for were delivered directly to his door.

With excitement and excitement, Russell began to wander around the warehouse where dozens of breeding materials were stored.
