Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 20 Colored Worm SilkChapter 20 Colored Worm Silk
After walking out of the Alliance Arena, Russell felt refreshed.

The classic show-off and slap-in-the-face routine, it turns out it feels so good!

sough……!
Seeing Russell and Ayou happily completing their first battle in the Beast Controlling Alliance, Daodao Mantis in the Beast Controlling Space expressed strong protest and seemed to be very dissatisfied with Russell for not sending it out.

”You haven’t fully understood your alloy claws yet. You will be injured if you fight with those carefully cultivated pet beasts.”

Only one pet beast can be sent out in the qualification test. To be on the safe side, Ayou who has completed special skills training is naturally more suitable, so he can only appease Daodao Mandarin.

Sa——?
When will you realize it?
The mantis, which grew up in the wild, is much smarter than Ayou. When Russell mentioned skill comprehension, it immediately sent a message of doubt.

”Arrange...arrange immediately...”

Hearing this question, Russell felt ashamed.

The pie you have drawn has to be filled by yourself.

After passing the test, Russell learned that he was ranked in the ninth group. The group stage must use a higher-standard playing field, and the schedule that can be arranged every day is limited. The ninth group match will not start until half a month later.

Considering that most low-level beast masters do not have the ability to contract three pet beasts, the competition format adopted in the newcomer group competition is to register two pet beasts and compete one-on-one in turns until both pets of one party lose their combat effectiveness.

Although Russell is very confident in Ayou’s strength, he still has to consider the issue of energy consumption when fighting against two. If he encounters an opponent as rough and thick-skinned as a demon dog, Ayou may be unable to continue after one fight.

Before the start of the group stage, it is indeed necessary for Daodao Mantis to become the second reliable combat force.

As for the direction of training, Dadao Mantis’s own path is very good.

The mantis race has rare stereoscopic vision, can see almost 360 degrees, and is very good at capturing moving figures, which is a great advantage in melee combat.

The reason why Daodao Mantis’s bloodline level is not high is entirely because of his lack of physical strength. Even if he predicts his opponent’s attack, it is difficult to parry when blocking or attacking.

In response to this problem, Russell plans to focus on cultivating its steel attributes and turn the Great Sword Mantis into a warrior mantis wearing hard armor and wielding an alloy sword arm!

Three-dimensional vision allows you to see six directions. During the confrontation, your left arm blocks accurately, and your right arm cuts through gold and iron. It’s so handsome just thinking about it.

However, the embarrassing thing is... he has no money to buy new cultivation materials for the time being.

Being so poor is probably quite rare in the time travel world.

The sericulture plan needs to be accelerated!
…………

Returning to the Royal Insect House, Russell temporarily put aside the cultivation of the two contracted beasts and let Ayou and Daodao Mantis practice in the backyard, while he worked hard to cultivate the big silkworm that was about to break out of its shell. .

The ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent is a treasure trove for insect beasts. Even a simple screening of energy is equivalent to the gentlest nourishment.

This nourishment may not be obvious on higher-level pet beasts such as Ayou and Daodao Mantis, and requires long-term accumulation and subtlety. However, when used on the particularly weak big silkworm larvae, the effect can be said to be immediate.

After three energy screenings, these large silkworm eggs broke out of their shells and turned into chubby white larvae.

Since all the remaining energy in the body has been removed by Russell, these giant silkworm larvae are very healthy, without any dead eggs, or individuals with congenital diseases or deformities.

rustle--

Driven by nature, the newborn larvae shook their little heads and began to eat their own egg shells.

The egg shells contain many special nutrients left over from the previous generation of mulberry moths, which are good breeding materials for the larvae of the same species.

But the thin egg shells were not enough to fill the hungry bellies of the larvae. When the egg shells were eaten away, Russell and Lu Yinning immediately brought them fresh mulberry leaves.

These leaves were chopped into fine pieces, and mixed with the juice of sunset grass, blue moss and warm orange fruit in a ratio of one to one,
”Eat, eat, grow up quickly and spin some silk to support the family~”

Seeing the big silkworm babies eating deliciously, Russell stood by the incubation box with a smile on his face, optimizing the energy in his body for them once every half a day.In addition to its own insect energy, Russell retained red fire energy, blue water energy, and golden light energy for the silkworm larvae.

It is said that the three primary colors can be combined to create any color. He hopes that these large silkworms can spin out thin threads of higher quality and more colors than the black-ringed silkworms.

With careful care and the ”cocoon talent of evolution” combined, within a week, the giant silkworm larvae were spinning silk one after another.

As Russell expected, after special feeding and repeated screening of energy in the body, the worm threads they spit out were no longer pure white, but contained a variety of colors such as red, yellow, blue, and green.

”Colorful insect silk, this is my first time seeing it!”

When Russell tied the colorful worm threads into a bundle and placed them on the counter, Lu Yinning’s eyes were full of surprise, and he even cut the mulberry leaves a few minutes faster.

She originally came to the Imperial Insect House for an internship just to accumulate some basic experience in raising pet animals and get credits on the way. Unexpectedly, her brother’s friend just fiddled with it for a few days and cultivated a large silkworm that could produce colorful silk threads. This was very important to her. The knowledge about insect-type pets learned from books and classes had a huge impact.

Isn’t there an old saying that ”a great hermit hides in the city”? Could it be that my young and handsome boss is an outsider who hides in Fenglin Road and keeps away from the world?

Lu Yinning now just feels that this part-time job is so profitable!

However, Russell did not notice the small change in the intern’s mood at all. He was holding a magnifying glass to carefully observe the first handful of silk he had just collected.

After a long time, Russell sighed and put the colorful silk he finally cultivated into an ordinary storage cabinet.

There is nothing wrong with the smoothness and luster of this batch of silk, but the problem lies in its quality.

Maybe the silkworm larvae are not yet proficient at spinning silk for the first time, or maybe the three-color energy in their bodies is not enough. The colors of these silkworm silks are different shades and unevenly distributed. One silkworm silk may have several colors at the same time.

It looks fine if they are in small strands, but once they are concentrated and placed in the sun, it becomes obvious that they are somewhat mottled and messy.

The ultimate goal of the silk industry is to make silk threads into various cloth products. The variegated color is not conducive to spinning, and it is difficult to sell such silk at a good price.

But Russell was not discouraged. With a good start and finding the right direction of cultivation, these flaws are not a problem. All he needs to do is continue to optimize energy.

…………

After another few days of busy work day and night, when the three-color energy in the large silkworm larvae reached 5%, the uneven color situation was significantly improved.

”Finally successful!”

After days of hard work, Russell and Lu Yinning couldn’t help but smile happily. Lu Yinning even changed her shy character and laughed happily.

No wonder she was so excited. This bundle of silk threads has seven colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and just a little closer to the bright light, it can reflect the bright and dazzling luster like a rainbow.

After successfully cultivating high-quality products, the next step is to monetize them.

Thinking that it would take him half a day to go to the appraisal room of the Alliance Trading Center to set the price, Russell quickly took a video with rainbow worm silk in hand and sent it to the performer Tian Tian.

”New rainbow worm silk, special price of 5000 credit points per bundle, hurry up if you want to buy it, first come first served.”

Based on the super high quality of the insect silk, he confidently set a high price of five thousand credits.

Anyway, few people who like high-quality natural silk products are short of money. They are more worried about not being able to buy good products than high prices.

Sure enough, Russell received a reply from Tian Tian after a while.

This rich lolita is really generous. Just after seeing the video, she transferred 5000 credits without saying a word, along with a message:
”I want these threads, how many more are there? I want them all!”
