“Professor Tang, has it been successful?”

“Hmm, half successful.”

“Half?”

Several big shots were a bit confused.

What does half successful mean? Is it considered a success, or not?

“Now the black dwarf star has reached a critical point. Just a bit more external force, and it won’t be able to hold on.”

Tang Rui briefly explained without going into detail.

“Do we need to launch another spacecraft?”

“No need, the previous devices were destroyed, but I had a backup plan.”

After saying this, Tang Rui switched the view on the big screen to Jupiter’s moon Ganymede.

That was, the moon with a magnetic field.

On the orbit of Ganymede stood a long pole.

Don’t be fooled by the unimpressive look of this three-kilometer-long pole, as it was a real antimatter weapon.

A positron cannon.

“Red Lotus, activate the magnetic field energy device on Ganymede, start charging the positron cannon.”

“Okay, Master.”

The magnetic field energy of Ganymede began to be extracted.

Inside the positron cannon, the Y-photon pair reaction furnace started, and countless high-energy Y-photons began to undergo reverse reactions.

Why use Y-photons?

Because electron-positron annihilation produces Y-photon pairs, but when the energy of Y-photon pairs exceeds the rest energy of an electron, the collision will produce a pair of electron-positron, and the excess energy will be converted into kinetic energy of electrons.

With the injection of huge energy, the positrons extracted by the reverse reaction of Y-photons began to converge.

The muzzle of the positron cannon started to glow, like some kind of energy gathering.

But this was not energy gathering, it was a physical effect produced by a trace of energy dissipation inside reacting with particles in the cosmic void.

Fifteen minutes later.

The positron cannon was fully charged.

“Red Lotus, lock onto the black dwarf star.”

“Orbital calculation complete, angle adjustment complete, positron cannon ready to fire.”

Tang Rui took a deep breath and pressed the button on his right.

Fire!

A golden light shot from the cannon, turning into a beam of light, crossing the edge of the solar system.

Since it was an antimatter weapon, particles in the cosmic void would annihilate with antimatter, making it look like just one shot.

But the effect of the shot turned into a beam of light.

Countdown thirty-two minutes and forty-six seconds.

The distance of over six hundred million kilometers is short in the scale of the universe, but too long for humans.

Even light took over thirty minutes to reach.

If Tang Rui wasn’t using real-time communication technology, just observing the light of the positron cannon from Earth would take over ten minutes.

Tang Rui picked up the teacup next to him and took a sip.

He had done what he needed to do.

If this strike couldn’t disintegrate the black dwarf star, then he would have to use the third plan.

But that plan…

Might as well take the Earth and run away.

Everyone online was cheering for this shot.

They didn’t understand the changes in the black dwarf star.

But they understood the direct energy attack of the positron cannon.

So, netizens left comments.

“This strike, pierces the stars!”

Countless people copied and pasted this phrase, flooding the live broadcast room with it.

Thirty-plus minutes felt incredibly long.

Finally, this ray of hope, the light, directly hit the black dwarf star.

Instantly, a blinding light erupted.

The brightness of the black dwarf star surpassed the sun and even Betelgeuse in Orion.

The Y-photons produced by electron-positron annihilation lit up the entire starry sky.

An unrivaled burst of light.

Tang Rui looked at the data on the big screen, most concerned about the mass of the black dwarf star.

The black dwarf star, already on the verge of explosion finally caved under the strike of the positron cannon.

A powerful electromagnetic force erupted.

Electron degenerate matter, with the help of the strong electromagnetic field, finally allowed electrons to escape from the atomic nucleus.

The wave function became useful again.

Microscopic changes led to a macroscopic collapse.

The electron degenerate matter expanded instantly.

The black dwarf star exploded.

Mass of 7 tons per cubic centimeter of electron degenerate matter burst open, turning into interstellar dust clouds.

From a distance, the shining black dwarf star suddenly burst open, leaving behind a huge dust cloud.

These dust clouds, spreading quickly throughout the solar system.

In the coming month, the entire solar system would be enveloped in fog.

Until these dust clouds are bound by gravity, forming rings, then they will disappear within the solar system.

“It’s over.”

Tang Rui leaned back in his chair and said with a smile.

“Thank you, Professor Tang. Humanity is fortunate to have you.” A big shot said with relief and excitement.

“It’s my duty, after all, I am human. But the black dwarf star has exploded, and the effects haven’t subsided yet.

In a little over an hour, Earth will experience a brief daylight, and everyone needs to be prepared for this.

Also, in the second half of next year, the amount of sunlight will decrease, the average temperature on Earth will drop, and crops will be affected.

I’ll upload more details in a couple of days, we need to be prepared in advance,” Tang Rui turned to the camera and said.

“Alright, thank you for the reminder, Professor Tang. We’ll be ready, you should rest now.”

“Okay, I’ll go back and catch up on some sleep. I didn’t sleep well last night.”

After ending the video call, Tang Rui returned to his villa, took a quick shower, and went to bed to catch up on sleep.

He indeed hadn’t slept well the previous night.

After all, the entire issue of the black dwarf star was on his shoulders, and that was a lot of pressure.

Now that the matter was resolved, the rest were minor issues.

As Tang Rui fell asleep, the entire country received the message that daylight was imminent, asking everyone to be prepared.

This daylight, caused by the black dwarf star, wouldn’t last long. As long as you don’t foolishly stare at the sky, it won’t be much of a problem, and won’t have much impact.

This message was also displayed in the live broadcast room.

Apart from the issue of daylight, the problem with the interstellar dust clouds wasn’t mentioned.

After all, the crisis had just been resolved. Mentioning another disaster right after wouldn’t be bearable.

An hour later, the sky suddenly became dazzling, a light brighter than the sun appeared in the sky.

But this special situation came quickly and left quickly.

In less than a minute, the light in the sky disappeared.

At this time, people, who had been holding back for almost a year, all ran out to celebrate.

The apocalypse was over.

Humanity would not perish.

People no longer had to live in fear.

But this was only in the country.

People abroad were also excited, but they didn’t dare to celebrate outside, because many people were setting off rapid-fire firecrackers on the streets.

Six-barrel super-fast firecrackers.

Now that was true freedom..
