Chapter 321: Electricity Reforms

Tang Rui came to Beijing to participate in the electricity reform meeting.

In the meeting room, he voiced his thoughts.

His thoughts were simple.

All thermal power and nuclear power were to be abolished, and only hydropower was to be retained.

At the same time, the entire country’s power grid would be abolished and replaced with wireless power transmission to solve the power problem in one step.

“Professor Tang, do you mean to remove all the ultra-high voltage and high-voltage transmission networks in the country and replace them with wireless power transmission?”

After hearing Tang Rui’s explanation, the chairman of the power grid was numb.

The power network was gone.

Then what was he going to do as a power grid company?

“That’s right. With wireless power transmission technology, what’s the use of wires? Not only is it a waste of resources, but maintenance is also troublesome.

“In some remote areas, even if there are only a few families, you still have to pull a wire over. It’s so troublesome.

By using wireless power transmission directly, consumption will be reduced, and maintenance money will be saved. Isn’t that good?”

Although Tang Rui knew that saying this would offend people, in the current situation, changing the current power transmission network in one step was the most cost-effective.

Otherwise, even with the controllable nuclear fusion reactor and the Earth’s magnetic field energy conversion equipment, the annual maintenance cost would be astronomical, not to mention the resistance consumption during the journey.

“In that case, how should we arrange the employees of the power grid?” The chairman of the power grid said helplessly.

In a situation where their skills were overwhelming, from a technical point of view, they did not have any hope of breaking out of the situation.

Therefore, he could only use his employees to explain things.

When Tang Rui heard this question, he leaned back in the chair and pretended not to hear it.

This wasn’t something he should be considering.

At the moment, he was a technical expert and was only responsible for technical issues. Other matters had nothing to do with him.

When the big shots of the National Council heard this question, they also had a headache.

The power grid was not a small department.

In total, there were millions of employees in the country, both temporary and official.

This was no small matter.

Most importantly…

No department could accommodate so many people at once.

It was still fine if it was a temporary establishment.

What if it was the establishment?

“We will not discuss other issues for now. The main content of this meeting is the power reform and technology upgrade.

President Tang, according to what you said, how many nuclear fusion power stations and wireless power transmission equipment do we need to build to support the country’s electricity consumption?”

The big boss of the National Council didn’t talk about the personnel arrangement. He immediately turned the topic back to the electricity reform.

“For nuclear fusion power stations, based on the current electricity consumption, three is enough. But considering the increase in electricity consumption in the future, a conservative estimate would require seven nuclear fusion power stations.

As for the wireless power transmission equipment, one of them can cover the entire world. However, considering the issue of redundancy, we can build two more as backups.”

Tang Rui did a simple calculation and said a set of numbers.

In fact, the amount of power generated by the nuclear fusion reactor was not important because he had unlimited energy in his hands.

The magnetic field energy conversion equipment was the real unlimited energy source.

As long as there was nothing wrong with the sun, mankind would not lack energy.

But this technology was too advanced.

He hadn’t started researching it yet, so he couldn’t take it out yet. Anyway, he wasn’t in a hurry.

“Alright, that’s all for today’s meeting.”

After the big shot from the National Council heard this, he looked at the people in the conference room and said nothing more. Instead, he announced the end of the meeting.

The meeting ended.

The person in charge of the electric fence immediately stood up and left.

To be honest.

Before he came to the meeting, he was still thinking about how to get some resources for his department. After all, this technological reform would definitely increase the corresponding transmission network.

In the end, he didn’t expect that a power technology reform would directly destroy their power grid.

How was he going to explain this when he went back?

Therefore, after the meeting ended, he immediately ran out to complain to the higher-ups. After all, it was a problem of settling millions of people.

There was no power grid.

However, he could not do without the establishment.

Tang Rui left the conference room unsteadily. Just as he was about to return to the hotel to rest, he was called up by the secretary of the National Council’s big boss.

A small meeting.

This seemed to have become a process.

They arrived at the small meeting room.

There were only five of them.

Other than him, all of them were big shots from various departments.

“President Tang, can the wireless power transmission network guarantee technical safety? For example, electromagnetic radiation?”

When Tang Rui heard this question, the corners of his mouth twitched.

Wasn’t it true that the lower one’s education level was, the higher the radiation level was? Why would a big shot like him ask such a question?

“This technology is very troublesome to explain, but if you talk about radiation, you can think of this technology as the Earth’s magnetic field.

“As long as the Earth’s magnetic field does not cause harm to the human body, then this technology will not cause harm to the human body.”

Tang Rui originally wanted to explain the technique, but after thinking about it, he still gave up.

When all had been said and done, they still couldn’t understand it, so they might as well use an analogy to make it clear.

“Professor Tang, with wireless power transmission technology, can we promote electric vehicles? Is it like charging an electric car while driving it?”

“Yes, that’s not a problem at all. We just need a power receiver.

Actually, it’s not just electric cars. As long as it’s a device that uses electricity as its energy source, it can do the same.”

Tang Rui nodded and replied. This was not a problem at all.

As long as it was within the range of the Earth’s magnetic field.

It could be charged.

If they left the range of the Earth’s magnetic field, there was nothing they could do.

However, only spaceships could leave the range of the Earth’s magnetic field. Even the space station was within the range of the Earth’s magnetic field.

In other words.

Space stations and satellites didn’t need solar panels or radioactive batteries. They could directly obtain energy through wireless charging.

However, in order to ensure safety and ensure that there would be no accidents, backup energy was still necessary.

“Then how do we monitor the power usage of this wireless power transmission platform?”

“The receiver only needs an electric meter. You don’t even need an electric meter. As long as you have an account, you can directly record the power usage after connecting to the charging platform.”

“How long will it take to make this charging platform?”

Tang Rui raised three fingers.

“Three months?”

Tang Rui didn’t say anything. He just withdrew one of the three fingers, and then withdrew another under the few people’s dumbfounded gazes.

“Done.”

Tang Rui spread his hands and said.

The corners of the few big shots ‘eyes twitched, but there was nothing they could do about Tang Rui.

“Professor Tang, according to your plan, how much should we charge for a unit of electricity?”

How much does a unit of electricity cost?

Tang Rui really hadn’t thought about this problem.

“How about 1 or 2 cents?”

“What about the cost of electricity generation?”

“It doesn’t cost much..”
