Chapter 340: Igniting, Transforming, Charging

This fusion device, although it was used to ignite Jupiter, did not ignite the entire planet.

Tang Rui did not have that capability.

Igniting Jupiter and turning it into a star was too difficult.

Firstly, Jupiter’s mass needed to be increased by 67 times, its core temperature by 500 times, and its internal pressure by 3000 times.

Temperature and pressure were manageable, but the key issue was mass.

Even if all the planets, asteroids, and meteorites in the solar system, except for the sun, were added to Jupiter, its mass would only increase by 25%, not even reaching 0.5 times, let alone 67 times.

But the inability to ignite the entire Jupiter didn’t mean that Jupiter couldn’t undergo nuclear fusion.

With so much hydrogen on Jupiter, it would have been a waste not to engage in nuclear fusion.

There was a device inside Jupiter that had been waiting for a long time.

It was activated at that moment.

Instantly, the temperature around the device skyrocketed to a billion degrees.

At this temperature, hydrogen directly underwent a fusion reaction, without needing any further action.

Nuclear fusion, actually, was quite simple.

As long as the temperature was high enough, any material could undergo a fusion reaction, including heavy metals which couldn’t escape this rule.

Under the ignition of extremely high temperatures, hydrogen underwent nuclear fusion, releasing immense energy.

However, as this energy tried to burst outwards, it was contained by a powerful magnetic field.

The unreleased energy was compressed internally again, restoring the high temperature and pressure inside that had previously decreased.

As long as this high temperature and pressure were maintained, the internal nuclear fusion reaction would not stop.

“The magnetic field strength is stable.”

“The fusion reaction is stable.”

“Jupiter’s magnetic field coordination data is normal.”

“Jupiter’s inner magnetic current is forming, expected to become uncontrollable in 3 hours and 17 minutes. Please note the time.”

Tang Rui, listening to Red Lotus’s report, nodded in satisfaction.

So far, everything was proceeding steadily according to his plan.

After about ten minutes, Earth’s outer space telescopes could already clearly see 320 red dots lighting up on the surface of Jupiter.

And these red dots were slowly getting bigger.

These red dots were the ignited nuclear fusion reactions.

They couldn’t really be considered reactors, because they would explode eventually.

In Jupiter’s orbit, apart from a dozen scientific spacecraft.

All other transport spacecraft sparked at this moment, with a massive amount of charged particles becoming active.

These transport ships lost power at that moment.

All systems inside were damaged.

Under Jupiter’s gravity, these transport ships began to fall into Jupiter, eventually dissipating under Jupiter’s immense internal pressure.

Tang Rui, watching the transport ships fall into Jupiter, had no expression on his face, very calm.

Everyone on the spacecraft, each and every one of them, was a troublemaker, sabotaging and dragging their feet. The world would be better off without them.

So, he didn’t feel bad about doing this at all.

Without them, the post-disaster reconstruction work would proceed more smoothly.

The human fate community would no longer be empty talk but become an ironclad fact.

“Professor Tang, can we broadcast this next?”

Seeing the transport ships disappear, a bigwig watching through the network asked.

“Yes, we can broadcast next,” Tang Rui replied indifferently after hearing this.

Either it would be a success, and everyone would celebrate together.

Or it would be a failure.

Then they would think of a solution later, perhaps it would really be time to flee, since dealing with a black dwarf star was indeed difficult.

Regarding the problem of not leaving the star system.

This was not just hellishly difficult.

It was absolute death difficulty.

If it weren’t for Tang Rui’s cheating, humans wouldn’t even be able to discover a black dwarf star, and by the time they did, it would probably be too late.

In the blink of an eye, two hours passed.

There were only 20 minutes left in the countdown.

At this time, the satellite broadcast images were already synchronized online, and everyone on Earth could watch.

For a moment, everyone who could access the network entered the live broadcast to watch this world-saving plan.

For a moment, the Earth miraculously regained peace.

Tang Rui didn’t care about the situation on the internet.

He glanced at the time and gave an order to Red Lotus: “Red Lotus, activate the magnetic field energy transition device, and increase the strength of Jupiter’s magnetic field.”

“Okay, master, the device is activated.”

Three devices, personally enhanced by Tang Rui through the system panel, were activated at this moment.

Jupiter’s magnetic field strength instantly soared.

Ten times!

Twenty times!

Fifty times!

A hundred times!

As Jupiter’s magnetic field strength soared, the Van Allen radiation belts were also affected at this moment.

The size of the Van Allen radiation belts and the number of electron-volt particles are proportional to the strength of a planet’s magnetic field.

This meant that under the support of Jupiter’s magnetic field, the Van Allen radiation belts crazily expanded outward, intercepting more solar wind particles.

“Red Lotus, start the magnetic field energy radiation conversion, transfer all the energy of the Van Allen radiation belts to Jupiter’s magnetic field, and continue to increase the strength of Jupiter’s magnetic field.”

“Okay, master, the device is activated.”

Light and electricity.

Electricity and magnetism.

At this moment, through the transformation of three sets of devices, light and electromagnetism began to support Jupiter’s magnetic field.

Instantly, the strength of Jupiter’s magnetic field soared to 400 times.

A magnetic field strength of 400 times that of Jupiter was equivalent to 8 million times the strength of Earth’s magnetic field.

But this strength was still a far cry from the tens of millions of times needed for a black dwarf star.

But the gap wasn’t too big.

Tang Rui looked at the data on the big screen and found it differed by 27 times from the previous estimates.

This deviation was still acceptable, as long as it didn’t exceed 50 times, there would be no problem.

“Red Lotus, detonate all of Jupiter’s fusion energy, draw all the energy, start the inner magnetic current, and boost the magnetic field strength to more than 500 times.”

“Okay, master.”

The magnetic field controlling the fusion reaction disappeared, and the massive fusion energy swept around.

The collisions caused by the particles raised the energy level of particles in Jupiter’s outer atmosphere, affecting the entire atmosphere of Jupiter.

Microscopic changes leveraged the macroscopic world.

Magnetic field control devices operated at full strength.

The atmosphere, which should have erupted into a superstorm, had not even a single lightning strike at this time.

All the energy was drawn away.

After several increases, the strength of Jupiter’s magnetic field finally reached 530 times, which is more than tens of millions of times that of Earth’s magnetic field.

People in the live broadcast room couldn’t see the changes in the microscopic world.

What they could see was only the electric light effects produced by the collision of solar wind with Jupiter’s magnetic field.

But everyone was cheering and encouraging the operation in their own languages.

“Red Lotus, start the magnetic field energy regulation conversion devices in the sixteen scientific spacecraft, and start charging the black dwarf star’s magnetic field.”

“Okay, master.”

All the preparations made before were for this moment.

It wasn’t a weapon. It was just simple electromagnetic conversion, coordinated resonance, to charge the magnetic field of the black dwarf star, to increase the strength of the black dwarf star’s magnetic field.

Why charge the black dwarf star’s magnetic field?

This led to the evolution of black dwarf stars.

From a white dwarf to a black dwarf, the energy level of the white dwarf gradually decreases, the surface temperature drops from ioo.oooK to l.oooK, and as the energy is consumed, the magnetic field strength of the white dwarf increases wildly.

What was the ultimate fate of a black dwarf star?

There were three theories.

The first was that the black dwarf star’s energy was exhausted, the electron degenerate state couldn’t balance with gravity, and the black dwarf star collapsed into a black hole.

The second was that the black dwarf star’s energy was exhausted, turning into a solid black rock.

The third was that the magnetic field strength of the black dwarf star continued to soar, and under the strong repulsion of the electron degenerate state, it disintegrated directly.

According to the answer calculated by Red Lotus for Tang Rui.

The black dwarf star turning into a black hole was basically impossible.

To become a black hole, it would have become one during a supernova explosion, not waiting until now.

Turning into a big iron lump is also unrealistic.

Because after losing energy, the electron degenerate state and gravity cannot balance, and an imbalance between the two is inevitable.

So, after Red Lotus’s calculations, Tang Rui decided to play a trick, not trying to explode the black dwarf star.

But rather, to make the black dwarf star disintegrate on its own.

The best way was not to charge the black dwarf star, but to charge its magnetic field, to increase the electromagnetic repulsion of the electron degenerate matter, surpassing gravity.

As long as the electromagnetic field surpassed gravity, the black dwarf star would disintegrate, and there would be no possibility of reignition.

Because what he was sending to the black dwarf star was not material, but purely electrons to strengthen the magnetic field and electromagnetic force.

The immense magnetic field energy of Jupiter, transformed by the sixteen scientific spacecraft, poured directly into the interior of the black dwarf star’s magnetic field.

For a moment, the magnetic field of the black dwarf star soared wildly, as though on steroids..
