After the meeting, there was a smaller meeting.

Tang Rui stayed in the capital for over a week.

Of course, it wasn’t just about the power grid issue, but also the space elevator project and the international demand for controlled nuclear fusion, among other things.

He attended all sorts of meetings, big and small.

Towards the end, he became utterly confused.

Fortunately, throughout a little more than a week, he managed to roughly outline various matters.

The domestic power reform was a must.

There was no doubt about that.

just dismantling the high-voltage power grid recovered resources worth an astronomical figure.

That was copper.

They were already short on copper.

Not to mention, the annual savings, calculated in hundreds of billions, made the reform of the power grid imperative, no matter how difficult.

However, it needed to be done gradually, not all at once.

It was planned that over the next five years, they would gradually reduce the role of the power grid. In ten years, only a wired power transmission network for emergency preparedness would be retained, and the rest would be replaced.

As for power plants, that was an easier topic. All thermal power plants were to be phased out, and nuclear power plants would orderly withdraw from the grid. Hydropower would remain, but no new hydropower stations would be added in the future. They would only be built according to local irrigation requirements.

Domestic changes were easy as long as the orders came from above, but it was different abroad.

Originally, Tang Rui’s idea had been to use wireless transmission technology to

sell cheap electricity to other countries.

But they were not fools.

What if one day you’re in a bad mood and cut off their power?

They wanted controlled nuclear fusion reactors, not wireless transmission. But

it wasn’t like they just got whatever they wanted, so the negotiations

continued.

After several days, everyone reached a consensus on the controlled nuclear fusion issue.

The country would help other nations build nuclear fusion reactors, but the control of the entire reactor would be in our hands.

The electricity was theirs.

But the reactor was ours.

All maintenance, repairs, fuel additions, etc., would be handled by personnel

sent from our country.

Foreign power grids could only cooperate, then integrate the energy generated by the reactors into their grids, and leave the rest to us.

That was the bottom line.

Either agree, or go back home and research on your own.

Eventually, countries had no choice but to agree to these terms.

After all, without cheap electricity, their industries would have suffered a huge blow. They had to agree for the time being.

And then go back and research slowly.

As for wireless charging, no country had agreed to it. They’d rather use the old power grids than adopt wireless charging.

Even the United States had not agreed.

Even when Tang Rui assured that there would be no power cuts, the U.S.

Congress still firmly disagreed.

Power companies were in favor, but apart from them and the oil companies, all other financial groups opposed it.

Tang Rui didn’t care about this.

“If wireless charging can be cut off, can’t the reactors be cut off too?” he thought.

Ridiculous.

Tang Rui hadn’t bothered with the subsequent negotiations. After signing a few documents, he left the capital.

He was supposed to keep busy in the capital.

But the orbital defense system at home was ready, and he had to return to deal with serious matters.

“These messy meetings, whoever wants to hold them can hold them,” he thought.

He was done serving them.

After resting at home for a day.

Tang Rui began to focus on serious matters.

“Red Lotus, bring out all the armed satellites made in the past two months, then contact the Air Force to block the airspace above,” he ordered.

“Okay, Master. Red Lotus understands,” Red Lotus replied.

Under Tang Rui’s orders, Red Lotus, controlling hundreds of robots, pulled all the armed satellites from the warehouse and placed them on the runway.

“President Tang, what are you doing?” Lin Chao arrived at the scene immediately and asked.

“Launching satellites.”

“How?”

“Just launch them with a swoosh.”

Lin Chao, looking at the hundreds of armed satellites neatly placed on the runway with electric propulsion engines installed underneath, was stunned. Was this really a direct launch?

Like a skyrocket?

“President Tang, is this reliable?” Lin Chao seemed a bit worried.

If something went wrong with these hundreds of satellites and they fell from the sky, it wouldn’t be a joke.

“Quite reliable,” Tang Rui confidently said.

Previously, satellite launches were troublesome.

Either by rocket or space shuttle.

After all, satellites themselves didn’t have propulsion and couldn’t go to space on their own.

But now it was different.

As long as they were within the Earth’s magnetic field, energy was basically unlimited. Therefore, Tang Rui equipped these armed satellites with electromagnetic anti-gravity systems and electric propulsion engines.

Thus, using wireless power transmission, these satellites could go to space on their own.

Just like launching skyrockets.

The only difference might have been that one needed a lighter to ignite, and the other didn’t.

“Master, all 1,200 armed satellites have been transported,” Red Lotus reported.

“Activate the electromagnetic anti-gravity system.

“Okay, Master.”

Buzz!

All 1,200 armed satellites floated up and silently hovered in mid-air.

“Red Lotus, start installing the fairings.”

“Okay, Master.”

One by one, robots began to wrap the armed satellites with fairings, to ensure they wouldn’t be damaged by high temperatures when leaving the atmosphere. Although the satellites were robust, the electronic components were still delicate.

In less than an hour.

All the armed satellites had their fairings installed.

At this point, the armed satellites really looked a bit like skyrockets, the only thing missing being a stick at the bottom.

“President Tang, the airspace has been completely blocked,” the Air Force reported. The entire airspace above Jinling was sealed.

No aircraft could fly over Jinling at this moment, not even fighter jets.

“Red Lotus, has the space command center given the go-ahead?” Tang Rui asked.

“Master, the space command center approved the launch twenty minutes ago, Red Lotus replied.

Tang Rui nodded and then given the order.

“Launch!”

At his command, all the armed satellites’ electric propulsion engines ignited at once, and 1,200 armed satellites simultaneously ascended to the sky.

The sight was indeed spectacular.

“Armed satellites have left the atmosphere, fairings detached, adjusting orbit now,” Red Lotus reported.

Under Red Lotus’s control, the 1,200 armed satellites, after leaving the atmosphere, began to fly towards their predetermined orbits, including geostationary orbit, synchronous orbits over domestic airspace, high orbits, and low orbits.

It could be said, that with these 1,200 armed satellites, no missile or aircraft would have been able to enter domestic airspace.

Neither below nor above the atmosphere.

Of course, this was not the final satellite orbital defense network.

The current armed satellites were just satellites, not outer space orbital strike platforms.

So the current defense network still had some loopholes..
