“This thing is indeed a bit scary.”

After getting up, Tang Rui went to the laboratory to start making a space telescope.

After all, whether there is a large mass celestial body in that area or not, just taking a picture will tell.

Wild guessing was meaningless.

What about alien civilizations monitoring Earth with their spaceships?

What a joke.

What material is used to make an alien spaceship that has one-third the mass of the Sun?

Materials notwithstanding, A civilization capable of constructing such a massive spaceship would have already been able to shield its own gravity. We on Earth know how to make airplanes invisible.

Wouldn’t aliens know that gravitational waves would expose their existence? Is it possible?

Tang Rui made a separate light quantum information capture device and then added a set of optical arrays, covering it with an outer shell and installing a set of ultra-high-speed optical imaging cameras and lenses in the middle.

After finishing, he directly added some enhancements.

[Item: Wide-Range Light Quantum Information Capture Space Telescope] [Experience: 0/58000]

[Enhancement: Ultra-Long-Distance Wide-Area Optical Information Capture System]

[Attributes: Detection range increased by 160%, detection accuracy improved by 140%, optical information capture capability increased by 120%] [Origin Points: 17682.26]

Tang Rui looked at the system panel and felt pretty good.

“Red Lotus, transport this device to the Lagrange L2 point, and then start detecting that area.”

“Okay, Master.”

After receiving the command, Red Lotus took the space telescope away, and Tang Rui went home to eat.

He had gotten up early in the morning to work and hadn’t had breakfast yet. Before he even finished breakfast, the aerospace command center sent a message asking what he had launched into outer space.

Tang Rui replied with “space telescope.”

Upon learning this, the aerospace command center became excited, as they had researched all night and still hadn’t determined what that large mass celestial body was.

Now that Tang Rui had launched the space telescope, it was definitely for this matter; they just had to wait for the news.

By noon, the space telescope was delivered to the L2 point, which is also the best observation point outside of Earth.

“Deceleration complete, entering the gravitational equilibrium area.”

“Attitude adjustment complete, open the optical array.”

Under the control of Red Lotus, the telescope, which had been in a bud state opened its external optical array at this moment, looking like a blooming flower.

The pistil in the middle was the ultra-high magnification lens and camera. “Spectral analysis equipment activated, beginning wide-area detection.” “Light sources within the area locked, analyzing…”

“Analysis complete, target locked, optical capture system activated…”

As the space telescope activated, it quickly locked onto the large mass celestial body outside the solar system.

As the optical information was collected, the image began to become clear.

One minute later, a dark brown planet appeared on the holographic projection screen, with scanning data next to the image.

With a radius of 4217 kilometers, it had a mass 0.7 times that of the Sun.

Normally, a planet of this size and mass should be a white dwarf.

But even a fool knows that a white dwarf is not dark brown, even if its brightness is low, it shouldn’t be this dim.

Tang Rui looked at the image in front of him and frowned.

He wasn’t interested in what kind of celestial body this planet was; he cared about whether this planet was a natural or artificial body.

If you said it was a natural body, such a special planet had never been seen before.

If you said it was an artificial body, there didn’t seem to be any man-made alterations on it.

Very strange.

Tang Rui studied it for a long time but couldn’t figure it out.

His knowledge of astronomy was really not much.

“Red Lotus, continue to track and photograph this planet, and then send the

photo data to the aerospace command center.”

“Okay, Master.”

Tang Rui didn’t figure out the situation of this planet, but he knew the seriousness of the matter.

Regardless of the condition of this planet, it was already close to reaching the solar system.

Currently, this planet was flying towards the direction of the solar system, only 72 astronomical units away from the Sun.

One astronomical unit is 150 million kilometers.

When calculated this way, the distance between them is 10.8 billion kilometers quite far.

But the problem was that the solar system and this planet were almost face-to-face, rushing towards each other, like lovers in a passionate embrace, about to hug.

Their speeds were similar.

The moving speed of the solar system is about 220 kilometers per second.

Knowing the speed and distance, even a primary school student could calculate the time; the answer is 285 days.

That is to say, in 285 days, a special planet with

a mass reaching 0.7 times that of the Sun will plunge into the solar system.

What would the effect be?

The entire solar system’s structure will be rewritten, all planets’ orbits will become chaotic.

By then, maybe Mars will collide with Venus.

Neptune might crash into Jupiter.

Anything could happen.

What about humanity then?

If not cheating, there is a 90% chance of extinction.

Even whether Earth can continue to exist is hard to say.

In other words, the end of the world had come.

On the other hand, institutions worldwide, after receiving the data forwarded by the domestic aerospace command center, began to study this celestial body.

Tang Rui didn’t understand much about astronomy, so he couldn’t tell what this planet was.

But astronomers, upon seeing the photos and data, figured out the situation immediately.

This was a black dwarf, not because of its color, but because it was about to die.

A black dwarf is the final evolutionary stage of a white dwarf or a brown dwarf, which means its predecessor might have been a white dwarf, but it evolved over a long time and ended up like this.

Just like how stars constantly evolve and eventually become white dwarfs, neutron stars, or black holes.

A natural result of evolution.

The problem is, normally a white dwarf takes 200 trillion years to evolve into a black dwarf.

How many billion years since the birth of the universe?

13.7 billion years.

So where did this black dwarf come from?

Did it come from another universe?

That’s just not scientific.

Okay.

Regardless of how this black dwarf came to be, what should humanity do next?

After Tang Rui finished lunch at noon, he went to a meeting.

The content of the meeting went without saying-discussing the future of humanity.

Just over nine months left, less than ten months.

What was to be done?

Professor Tang, what is your suggestion?”

What else is there to say, definitely to run away,” Tang Rui answered without hesitation.

He couldn’t do anything about such a level of natural disaster, even if he was cheating.

If it were a small asteroid, no, even if it were an ordinary planet hitting Earth,

Tang Rui would have a way to destroy that planet.

A planet-destroying cannon is not impossible to research.

Ordinary planets are quite fragile.

But facing a hard-as-hell black dwarf, composed of electron-degenerate matter, even a planet-destroying cannon is useless.

A head-on collision between the Sun and the black dwarf, it’s hard to say who wins and who loses.

So, other than running away, there was no other way.

“But there are only less than ten months left, even if we make a spaceship, we

can’t take many people.”

“There are many ways to run away, escaping on a spaceship, escaping with the moon, even escaping with the Earth, it just depends on how you choose..”
