Chapter 320: The Commercial Use of Controlled Nuclear Fusion, the Era of Infinite Energy

By the time Tang Rui learned the truth about the rocket explosion, half a month had passed.

When he heard the news, he didn’t know how to express his thoughts.

It was just too bizarre.

It seemed like Japan had started paying its debts.

Although on the surface, the company that launched Japan’s rocket went bankrupt and didn’t compensate for the satellites of various countries, in reality, Japan paid quite a bit, especially in compensation for our space station.

It was a substantial amount.

Regarding this matter, Tang Rui suggested, “Please, increase the effort.”

The debts incurred in the past had to be repaid.

However, these events had no impact on him.

He continued to focus on his own affairs.

One day, Lin Chao sent a message.

“President Tang, the chief engineer of Dongfang Super Ring wants to meet you. When are you available?”

“The chief engineer of Dongfang Super Ring, Professor Li?”

“Yes.”

“You can just send a video for matters like this. Why come in person? I’ll contact him directly.”

After hanging up the phone, Tang Rui immediately started a video call with Professor Li. Knowing the situation, he couldn’t let someone else take the trouble to come to him.

“Professor Tang, I hope I’m not disturbing you?”

“Not at all, I just heard the news. You could have just called, no need to make a trip.”

“The thing is, I felt really embarrassed about this issue, so I wanted to tell you in person, it’s really…”

“No problem, just tell me directly. Do you need help?”

“Yes, the controlled nuclear fusion project is almost complete, but we have made no progress on the control program for the reactor core.

“The latest 150W quantum computer provided by the Quantum Technology Research Center can’t meet the computational requirements of the reactor core.

“So, I had no choice but to ask for your help, Professor Tang.”

Tang Rui was a bit puzzled after hearing this.

All the data on the nuclear fusion reactor, including the core control program, had been uploaded to the secure data repository.

Professor Li could just download the program from the repository.

Why did he need to specifically ask him?

“Professor Li, is there a problem with the core control program I uploaded? Or does something need adjustment?” Tang Rui asked, confused.

“It’s not the program, it’s the issue of fuzzy computing. Our core control program isn’t intelligent enough.”

Huh?

Tang Rui then understood where the problem lay.

The data he had uploaded did not include artificial intelligence program codes, so even if their core computer’s computing power was sufficient, without an intelligent system, the system would eventually crash due to data accumulation. That’s the difference between intelligent and non-intelligent systems.

No wonder Professor Li was embarrassed.

It was essentially like asking him for an artificial intelligence program, which would make anyone feel awkward.

But Tang Rui didn’t mind.

The Al programs he gave out weren’t at the level of Red Lotus, at most they were at the level of the early Xiao Yi.

So, for him, this wasn’t a big deal.

“No problem, I’ll have someone send over a copy of the Al core data shortly.” Tang Rui said generously.

“Thank you so much, Professor Tang, I really am…”

“No need for formalities. If you really want to thank me, just invite me to dinner at the next Professor meeting, something special.”

“No problem, I’ll take care of it and make sure you’re satisfied.”

After the video call, Tang Rui sent Gaoyang by plane to deliver the Al data to Professor Li.

Twenty minutes later, the Al data was in Professor Li’s hands.

They immediately connected the data to the 150W quantum supercomputer and activated the AL

“Prepare for testing.”

At Professor Li’s command, everyone got ready.

Although they weren’t concerned about the reactor’s condition, fuel injection, strong magnetic field activation, and the nuclear fusion reactor’s ignition.

They had tested it many times.

As long as the core was fine, the reactor would have no issues.

Everyone focused on the core data on the big screen.

“Teacher, there is no data accumulation, error data has been cleared, and it’s not stuck in a loop.”

“Error data and simulation calculation results are all cleared, error data judgment results are not repeatedly verified, and computational consumption does not exceed 3%.”

“The 150WS computing power is more than enough, currently using less than 17% of peak capacity.”

As time ticked by, the nuclear fusion reactor had been operational for over 12 hours.

But so far, everything was normal. Core control was stable, high-temperature plasma remained within the controllable range, and energy output was steady.

“Teacher, we’ve succeeded.”

“Don’t rush, let it run for three days first.”

Although Professor Li was excited, he wasn’t in a hurry. Success was certain, but for reporting purposes, it wasn’t enough to simply declare success; data reports were needed.

In a blink of an eye, three days passed.

The controlled nuclear fusion reactor operated stably, all data was normal, and it passed peak experiments perfectly.

This essentially meant that controlled nuclear fusion had been completely replicated.

Yes, replicated.

Tang Rui had figured it out long ago, but why would the country still pursue it? To fully grasp the technology.

It wasn’t possible to stop just because he had succeeded.

That was unthinkable.

Upon receiving the news, the higher-ups were very pleased.

Many plans could now be implemented.

Before replicating controlled nuclear fusion, the national power grid couldn’t be touched, but now it could.

That evening at 7 PM, the news reported the successful development of controlled nuclear fusion.

Of course, the report credited both Tang Rui and Professor Li, stating that two types of controlled nuclear fusion reactors had made breakthroughs.

This wasn’t incorrect.

Tang Rui’s fusion reactor was more advanced and indeed different from the Tokamak.

The replicated fusion reactor used the same materials to replicate the Tokamak.

Besides, the team had worked hard for many years.

He couldn’t take all the credit alone; that’s not how he operated.

Moreover, such fame wasn’t important to him.

After the news was reported, the country was abuzz.

The controlled nuclear fusion dominated the media.

Not just domestically; the entire world praised it.

Phrases like “the dawn of the era of unlimited energy” and “the complete solution to power generation pollution” were thrown around.

All possible commendations were given.

The day after the news report, countries worldwide sent congratulatory messages and also inquired about the fusion reactor.

Who wouldn’t want unlimited energy?

In the future, a country without a nuclear fusion reactor would essentially have a failed industrial base.

Why?

Because of electricity costs.

Others produce the same thing for one unit of cost, while you spend ten.

It’s hard to compete with that gap, not to mention the abundant electricity affects all sectors and aspects, not just energy consumption but also industrial upgrades. So everyone wants this technology.

If it had been released before we ranked first, there would have been a lot of trouble.

But now, it’s all congratulations and discussions about cooperation.

They’ll agree to almost any condition as long as it’s not too outrageous.

American power companies directly contacted Tang Rui.

They knew Crimson had this technology and even built a physical nuclear fusion reactor but didn’t dare to ask.

It hadn’t been used in their own country yet.

They wanted to use it.

Now that it’s reported, it means it’s entering commercial operation, so they could inquire.

Upon receiving the message, Tang Rui simply said.

Wait.

He didn’t have time for America’s matters now because he had his own troubles.

Nationwide power grid transformation and new electricity tariff standards.

Tang Rui was a key figure.

Because all the technology was related to him..
