chapter 232: overwhelm, crush, annihilate

“after dealing with the enemy’s fighters, han shu ordered the armored troops to move out and launch an attack on the enemy.

the self-propelled howitzers fired first.

a distance of thirty-odd kilometers was well within their firing range.

the enemy’s anti-air weapons could intercept rockets and cruise missiles, but they had no means against self-propelled howitzers.

beep beep beep…

the shells had just been launched when the enemy’s counter-battery radar sounded an alarm and locked onto the artillery position within a mere 3 seconds.

different countries had their own counter-battery radars.

what mattered here was the reaction time.

the russian radar could lock onto an artillery position in 5 seconds, whereas the american version could do it in 3 seconds.

though the difference was only a mere 2 seconds, the gap in electronic information technology was immense, not even on the same level.

just as the radar had issued a warning and calculated the shell’s landing point, the shells arrived.

thirty-something kilometers was not close, but definitely not far.

even if the radar reacted, the personnel might not be able to react in time, let alone move the vehicle out of the enemy’s artillery range, which was nearly impossible.

boom boom boom…

the 155mm self-propelled howitzers had a powerful impact, each shell covering a few dozen meters around the center of the impact point.

this was very detrimental to troop positions.

this was especially the case for field defensive works. even if people hid inside, they were likely to be killed instantly.

“quick, hurry!”

the mercenary leader began shouting at his subordinates.

they received the news that all air support was destroyed by the enemy, and the missile attack did not cause any damage to the enemy.

now that the enemy had launched an attack, they faced two choices: confront the enemy head-on or retreat quickly.

what kind of people were mercenaries?

they fought for money.

although their orders were to engage the enemy and fight desperately, they would not seek death, especially without air support. they would not engage the enemy’s armored troops head-on.

no air supremacy.

no air support.

to expect them to confront the enemy’s armored troops head-on was unthinkable.

even if they were still in active service, they would not do such a thing.

and just like that, the armored troops in the hada region began to retreat.

“why are they running?”

tang rui was stunned to see the enemy’s tanks and other armored vehicles, such as radar vehicles, anti-air missiles, and command vehicles, all retreating frantically.

wasn’t there going to be a fight?

after all, these were fourth-generation main battle tanks.

just running away like this?

it was too disgraceful.

disappointed at not seeing an armored showdown, tang rui decided to use overwhelming firepower to crush the enemy.

but at that moment, the enemy’s tank forces suddenly turned around and started a counter-charge.

what was going on?

did they take the wrong medicine?

actually, tang rui didn’t know that the enemy commander had directly contacted the military contractor and laid out the situation.

either engage the enemy in a decisive battle or run back and compensate for the breach of contract.

compared to their lives, they were more afraid of compensating for losses.

in the united states, bankruptcy was a terrifying thing.

so they had no choice but to bite the bullet and go up.

“red lotus, lock onto the fleeing enemy, order the rocket artillery to fire rockets and wipe them all out,” tang rui commanded after seeing the enemy’s tanks turning around but the other units were still fleeing.

if they didn’t wipe them out, what were they waiting for? the new year?

as for the tank forces, leave them to our big tanks.

upon receiving the order, the rocket artillery unit immediately launched rockets.

these, however, were specially crafted rockets, not the cheap rockets sold to sudan.

not only was the warhead enhanced, but it was also equipped with black technology, making its destructive power comparable to missiles.

under red lotus’s control, 3,600 specially made rockets completely wiped out the fleeing troops.

vehicles were all blown up, leaving deep pits on the ground.

after “cleaning” the area, it was hard to find even the wreckage of equipment, let alone other debris.

upon dealing with the fleeing troops there, tang rui looked at the sand table, where the armored forces were about to collide.

the enemy had a total of 42 tanks.

tang rui had a total of 36 tanks.

both sides were currently 12 kilometers apart, already within each other’s firing range.

but neither side was in a hurry to fire.

mainly because of the terrain.

“red lotus, show me the first-person view of our tank forces,” tang rui, feeling bored with the god’s eye view, commanded.

“okay, master.”

swoosh!

the holographic projection in front of him changed.

“now on my mark, all units spread out in a fan shape, aim at the enemy tanks based on unit numbers, and fire directly.”

the officer commanding the tank battle could clearly see the enemy’s tanks on the battlefield map.

even if there were small hills and forests blocking the view, they could still see the enemy’s tanks behind them through the perspective.

not only could they see everything, but he managed to assign numbers to these tanks.

1-42.

their own tanks also had numbers.

just use these numbers to deal with the enemy tanks of the same number, to avoid friendly fire.

this wasn’t really a tactic.

it’s just a lateral push under the crushing superiority of equipment performance.

compared to tang rui’s side, the enemy’s tank forces were much more cautious, even though they were driving fourth-generation tanks.

even the most advanced american tanks couldn’t give them any sense of security.

“aim at the turning point one kilometer ahead, fire smoke grenades, block the line of sight at the turning point.

“after the smoke screen is formed, the left side accelerates to bypass and ambush behind the mountain, the right side blocks the turning point, but don’t leave the cover.”

the enemy’s tank force commander cautiously directed.

he thought well—to use the electronic information system of the fourth-generation tanks for asymmetric warfare against the enemy.

but the next second, a burst of fire exploded in front of him.

just after firing the smoke grenades and about to accelerate from the left, a tank was directly hit.

in an instant, the tank’s turret flew into the sky and then crashed heavily on the side of the road.

“dodge, find cover!”

as the commander’s words fell, the other tanks had not yet reacted when successive explosions sounded.

whether it was frontal armor or side armor, as long as it was hit, it meant death.

in less than ten seconds, the dozen or so tanks preparing to bypass from the left were all blown up.

the ones on the right were okay, undamaged.

because they were clinging to the mountain, the shells couldn’t reach them.

this meant the smoke screen was for nothing.

but the problem was, what should they do now?

sticking to the cover was fine, as the enemy had no firing window and couldn’t hit them.

but they couldn’t move either.

what was the difference between a motionless tank and a gun turret, which lacked even the defense and attack power of a turret?

“fourth-generation main battle tank, is that it?”

tang rui looked at the holographic projection in front of him, speechless.

originally, he wanted to see an armored showdown, like in the world of tanks, but the result… turned into a one-sided shooting range.

five minutes later.

the enemy’s armored forces were annihilated.

after destroying this armored force, there were no more organized enemy forces in sudan, except for some lingering mercenaries.

next, as long as the armored forces cooperate with the sudanese army’s left and right flanks and push forward directly, they could take down the south sudanese forces.

without the americans, what could south sudan use to resist the sudanese army, which had overwhelming firepower? they still had a lot of ammunition left to use.

in other words, this loud and lively-looking battle was basically over..
