however, the specific method of using it was different from what he had imagined.

who would have thought?

japanese technology had made a breakthrough.

three days later, the best drilling equipment, the most skilled experts, and the most dedicated workers were gathered on the big board.

they came to the area near niki, just two kilometers from the sea.

according to the map, this was the edge of the oil field.

however, according to the calculations of the experts, it was the most economical and cost-effective way to drill from here.

the group began to work on the open space next to the seaside resort.

a tall drilling tower was erected.

they deployed the new model and started drilling.

in the blink of an eye, three days passed.

according to the geological survey data, they were about to break through the rock layer. below the rock layer was the gas layer.

it stored 2.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

however, natural gas was not as important as oil, so they were not in a hurry to extract it.

whirrr…

suddenly, the rotation speed of the head increased, and the pressure decreased.

“ishihara-kun, we’ve broken through the rock layer and drilled into the gas layer. we’re currently exploring the natural gas reserves.”

“very good. search as soon as possible and then hurry up. the oil field is just below the gas layer.”

“hey!”

the pace of his daily life was still acceptable.

he worked for six hours straight.

after gathering the data on the natural gas, they continued drilling. they could not wait to unlock the underground treasure.

but after a day, they felt something was wrong.

according to the map, they should have already drilled into the oil field, but that was not the case.

the detector feedback showed there were still gravel layers below.

there was no oil.

however, there were no issues with the drilling data or the natural gas reserves data.

why did things go wrong when they reached the oil field?

“ishihara-kun, the drill has been replaced. do you want to continue drilling?” the construction workers asked ishihara, the expert.

“continue. based on the current situation, the other party might have miscalculated. they can only probe at the bottom of the sea, while we’re drilling on land. it’s normal for there to be some errors in the data.

the data of the oil field can’t be wrong. a little error is nothing. continue drilling. we have to break through the oil field before tonight.”

ishihara thought for a moment before giving the order.

the japanese were persistent. even though the drilling was getting harder and harder, and the newly changed drill bit was starting to heat up, they still carried out ishihara’s request seriously.

they continued to drill.

two hours later, the temperature sensor sounded an alarm.

the underground temperature was too high.

the temperature of the drill was also rising rapidly.

“this isn’t right.”

“there’s something wrong. why is the temperature so high in the upper layer of the oil field? is this a magma layer?”

“how is that possible? there’s an oil field below. how can there be magma?”

“but the drill can’t withstand this temperature.”

“no, look at the speedometer. there’s nothing unusual.”

m

this…”

the two senior staff members looked at the data on the meter and were dumbfounded.

logically speaking, if there was a problem with the drill, there would be a problem with the data of the speedometer. if the speed was not fast, it would be slow.

however, there was nothing wrong with the speedometer.

this made the two of them confused.

after ishihara received the report, he did not take it seriously.

no one was thinking about other possibilities.

there was an oil field below, not magma. there must be something wrong with the sensor. as long as he did not look at the heat meter, it would be fine.

the drill continued its grind downward.

the temperature data was also getting higher and higher.

however, the drilling speed was not affected. in just an hour, they had already drilled 200 meters.

what did this mean?

the sensor was broken.

they could already feel the changes in the ground, which meant that they were about to break through.

finally, after an hour and forty-four minutes of relentless drilling, the speedometer suddenly began to soar.

the pressure sensor started to give an alarm.

“oil lord, we’ve broken through. we’ve broken through.”

“really, let me see.”

ishihara came to the monitoring room and frowned when he saw the red numbers on the screen.

the temperature sensor was broken, so it was normal for the temperature to explode.

why was the pressure sensor broken?

this pressure should be the pressure of an oil field. volcanoes should be just like this. the pressure sensor was also broken.

looking at the drill bit…

what?

where’s the drill?

how did such a big drill disappear?

the screen showed that the drill data had been disconnected.

what was going on?

beep beep beep…

looking at the various data that were constantly being reported to the police, ishihara had a bad feeling, but he still did not think about the lava.

“pull out the drill bit and prepare the equipment to prevent a well blowout.”

ishihara suppressed the uneasiness in his heart and gave the order.

he was ready to take out the drill to take a look.

what was going on?

outside, a group of workers had already made their preparations.

after the oil field was broken through, the oil would automatically erupt along the pipeline. this was called a blowout.

however, with the current technology, it was already very easy to solve the problem of the oil well.

one drill pipe after another was pulled out.

the workers had already taken out the equipment and were ready to seal the well at any time.

however, as the drill pipe at the bottom was pulled out, everyone felt that something was wrong.

why is this drill pipe hot?

it was as if it had just been heated.

logically speaking, since so much of the drill pipe had been pulled out, the oil should have slowly risen.

why is there no oil at all?

at that moment, ishihara went outside and looked at the drill pipe that was still steaming. the uneasiness in his heart became more and more serious.

what went wrong?

when a drill rod that was already red as if it had just been taken out of the furnace was pulled out,

ishihara’s mind buzzed.

no matter how stupid he was, he knew that something was wrong.

he recalled the data from the temperature sensor.

then, he looked at the color of the drill pipe.

magma.

only lava could achieve this effect.

in other words, they didn’t break through the oil field, but the magma?

no.

there were no oil fields underground, only natural gas layers…

natural gas layer…

underground lava…

getting pierced through…

when ishihara thought of this, he was dumbfounded.

at this moment, he realized what a foolish thing he had done. he had actually pierced through the layer between the natural gas and the lava.

didn’t that mean…

the ground had become a huge bomb.

psssh…

at this moment, the sound of air leaking suddenly erupted from the sealed well.

then, red and blue flames shot out from the crack.

the oil well did not blow up, and instead, erupted into a tower of flames.

“run quickly…”

when ishihara saw this, his pupils constricted to the size of a needle. then, he roared and turned around to run.

all the workers present were dumbfounded.

despite the flames spewing out from the ground, it was ishihara who turned around and ran away which surprised them.

in the next second…

boom…

flames shot into the sky.

the sealed well was directly blasted open by the soaring flames.

the surrounding workers and the remains of the well were swept away.

the blue flames spewed out of the well and shot into the sky.

however, the pressure underground was not vented.

the ground began to tremble.

after running for more than 100 meters, ishihara stopped running when he felt the ground tremble.

as an expert in this field, of course, he knew what would happen next.

now, even if he wanted to run, he couldn’t.

he took out his phone and called his wife at home.

after the call was connected, ishihara turned his head and looked at the blue flames that were shooting into the sky not far away. they were more than a thousand meters tall, and he said bitterly, “miko, i’m sorry. i can’t accompany you to see the cherry blossoms.”

as soon as he finished speaking, the ground began to tremble violently.

cracks spread from the well in the distance to where he was.

flames were still emitting from these cracks.

on the other end of the phone, unaware of the situation on ishihara’s side, just as she was about to ask about the situation, the phone was hung up.

“ishihara…beep… beep… beep…”

boom!

the underground pressure found an exit through the well, and then the huge pressure was released to the surface.

2.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas, together with the underground magma, burst out of the ground.

at that moment, dawn had arrived!
