“this is the space command center, director tang please respond.”

“responding, what’s the issue?”

“have you figured out the situation with the satellite?”

“yeah, almost. it appears to be a core mainframe, nothing else. but there’s a layer of anti-electromagnetic pulse shielding wrapped around it, i’m about to open it up to take a look.”

“cough cough… just fiddle with it for a bit; since you’ve got a handle on it, no need to continue. it wouldn’t be good to break something.”

“got it… so, should i restore it for them?”

“if it’s not too much trouble, please do. even if they’re aware, we still have to go through the motions for appearances’ sake.”

“alright, i understand.”

after hearing this, tang rui stopped the disassembly.

only two screws left.

what a shame.

however, disassembling it to this extent was sufficient. he had a complete understanding of the satellite’s condition, inside and out.

continuing to disassemble would just be for amusement.

just like the communication said, it was just for fun.

it wouldn’t be good to break something.

tang rui adjusted the universal tool and started restoring the site, putting everything back into place.

he didn’t intentionally destroy anything; that would be pointless.

the american gadget posed no threat to him, so better to let them keep spending money on it.

at nasa’s control center, seeing tang rui cease the disassembly and start the reassembly, everyone sighed with relief, especially since tang rui’s reassembly was entirely in accordance with their design specifications, which made it somewhat more bearable for them.

they were worried the other party might deliberately cause trouble.

if the nuts were intentionally cross-threaded during installation, they would have no recourse.

thankfully, that did not happen.

they could detect these parameters through the sensors inside the satellite, each time a screw was properly installed.

the parameters provided by the sensors were all standard values.

when tang rui installed the last screw on the external shield, nasa relaxed completely.

looking at the feedback on the computer screen.

the satellite was functioning normally.

previously, the dismantled satellite showed red alarms because it hadn’t been unlocked in advance.

now that the satellite had been reassembled, the alarm indicator disappeared, and the icon turned green again.

after tang rui had restored the site, he returned to the cockpit.

piloting the white emperor, he flew into the orbit of the armed satellite and docked next to it.

tang rui looked at the system panel of the armed satellite.

[item: directional energy armed satellite]

[experience: 48227/35000 (upgradable)]

[origin points: 1645.63]

the experience value had completely overflowed; enough to upgrade the armed satellite to level 3. as for reaching level 4, that remained to be seen.

that would depend on how much the experience value would increase after the system panel was enhanced.

but that wasn’t important now.

first, to bring the armed satellite back.

“red lotus, retract the solar sails, dismantle the frame, and retrieve the armed satellite,” tang rui instructed red lotus.

“understood, master. calculating and adjusting attitude. beginning retrieval.”

under red lotus’s control, the armed satellite’s solar sails began to retract. once retracted, the frame was removed by the mechanical arm along with the sails.

after the solar sails were dismantled, the armed satellite adjusted its attitude on its own. then, it was grabbed by the mechanical arm and secured back into the container.

after all this, tang rui returned directly to the ground, piloting the white emperor.

back at the company, the entire large box was dragged away by the robots controlled by red lotus for radiation elimination.

who knew if there were remnants of radioactive dust on an item from space?

so before tang rui upgraded and enhanced, it had to be processed first, which wasn’t a hassle anyway.

an hour later, tang rui arrived at the assembly workshop.

the processed armed satellite was quietly placed on the platform inside the workshop, waiting for tang rui’s handling.

there wasn’t much to say.

he directly clicked the upgrade button on the panel.

a blue light flashed.

the armed satellite was upgraded.

this upgrade brought some subtle changes to the exterior of the armed satellite.

however, these changes were not significant.

it could only be said that the appearance had been optimized a bit, but there was no enhancement in performance.

the upgrade continued.

flash!

another streak of blue light.

this time there were no changes to the exterior, but the interior structure had definitely been optimized by the system.

tang rui wasn’t prepared to inspect it right now. there was no need.

he clicked to upgrade again.

flash!

a faint gold light passed.

this upgrade significantly changed the appearance of the entire armed satellite.

the most significant change was that it had become smaller.

it had been reduced to a length of 7 meters and a diameter of 60 centimeters, looking even more compact.

[experience: 23225/? (unupgradable)]

[origin points: 1645.63 (enhanceable)]

tang rui glanced at the system panel.

then he said to red lotus beside him, “red lotus, connect the wires and download the design and internal system data.”

“okay, master, red lotus understands.”

a robot nearby immediately extended a wire and connected to the armed satellite, beginning the data download.

soon, the design and system data had all been downloaded by red lotus, completing the backup.

tang rui glanced at the design.

this version of the design should represent the pinnacle of current human technology.

three upgrades, three optimizations.

external optimization, internal optimization, and overall optimization.

after these three rounds of optimization, this armed satellite was the best solution given current technology.

no design could surpass this level.

not to mention surpassing it.

even to reach a similar level would be very difficult.

tang rui looked at the system panel and made his move again.

this time, it was not an upgrade, but an enhancement.

as the origin points were consumed.

the enhancement began.

a few seconds later.

a golden light flashed.

enhancement complete.

the armed satellite had undergone a complete transformation.

if the original armed satellite resembled a column, then the current armed satellite was like a sphere.

calling it a sphere might not be quite accurate.

it should be called a polyhedron.

exactly how many sides it had, he didn’t know, nor did he care to calculate.

why had it become like this?

because every side of this armed satellite was a laser emitter, meaning it could attack in multiple directions at once without any blind spots.

[experience: 23225/53000]

[enhanced: weapon, system, energy, hardware]

[origin points: 1637.63 (enhanceable)]

tang rui glanced at the system panel.

it was a pity that the experience wasn’t enough to level up.

but that was not important.

what mattered was the technology contained in this armed satellite.

“red lotus, connect the wires and review the design and data.”

“yes, master.”

a few seconds later.

the holographic projection model of the armed satellite was displayed in front of tang rui, clearly showing the names and performance parameters of the various equipment.

upon first seeing this model.

he spotted the most outstanding component.

it was also the energy core of the armed satellite.

a high-energy radioactive isotope thermoelectric generator..
