God's Imitator

Zheng Jie nodded, ”Alright then, I’ll sign up for the small class first.”

Qin Yao also immediately raised her hand, ”I’ll sign up too.”

Everyone fell silent for a while. Li Renshu asked, ”Then, shall we end this review here for now?

”If anyone thinks of new doubts later, we can continue discussing.

”Perhaps this game’s content was relatively complex and the situation quite chaotic. There’s too much to talk about, and we’re instead stuck for the moment.

”Anyway, there’s still a long time for future games. If anyone thinks of new doubts or new questions, we can initiate discussions again at any time.”

Everyone looked at each other, then nodded one after another, ”Alright.”

...

The atmosphere of this review was somewhat different from before.

Everyone’s discussion wasn’t enthusiastic.Li Renshu had obviously noticed this too. This was mainly because among the four players truly capable of reviewing details, Wang Yongxin wasn’t present, while Lin Sizhi, Cai Zhiyuan, and Wei Yinzhang weren’t very actively speaking.

Regarding the game’s content, they had generally reviewed everything, but they hadn’t discussed some details too deeply, overall displaying an attitude leaning toward ’unimportant.’

For relatively slow players like Zheng Jie and Qin Yao, perhaps they couldn’t feel it, but more sensitive players could all perceive it to some degree.

But given the current situation, of course they couldn’t directly expose it.

So Li Renshu suggested today’s review should end about here.

If necessary, perhaps after private communication, they could restart the discussion.

But it was also possible they wouldn’t discuss it again.

”Everyone worked hard. Rest well!”

”You worked hard too. Sweet dreams!”

Everyone stood up one after another and returned to their respective rooms.

...

The sky had completely darkened.

Although the outdoor area had light sources, most of Lin Sizhi’s figure was already shrouded in darkness, leaving only the red dot of a cigarette placed beside him appearing and disappearing intermittently.

”That’s the algorithm for the ’100 Prisoners Problem.’

”Actually, simply put, under this strategy, calculating these prisoners’ survival probability is equivalent to calculating ’the probability of a specific number chain appearing.’”

Zheng Jie and Qin Yao nodded seriously, seeming to generally understand.

”Put this way, it seems deeply investigating the specific algorithm behind this indeed doesn’t have much significance.

”It’s not easy to understand when explained, but after understanding it, one indeed feels it’s not as good as just directly memorizing the conclusion.”

Lin Sizhi nodded, ”Yes, actually in the Gallery, the vast majority of games are like this.

”Strategies that have already been used most likely won’t be used a second time. Even if used, they’ll definitely be very different from before.

”So although reviews can also play some role and can slightly improve players’ levels, this improvement is actually very limited.

”Otherwise, if everyone kept reviewing, wouldn’t they step on their left foot with their right foot and ascend together?

”But in reality, even those players with growth potential basically grow rapidly within a few games, then permanently stabilize.

”Those players without growth potential need even less mention. No matter how hard they work on reviews, no improvement is the norm.

”Just like in reality doing relatively professional, creative work, most people will completely stabilize after three to five years in the industry. Subsequent improvement won’t be too great.”

Zheng Jie felt somewhat emotional, ”How come I feel like Brother Lin is pointing at me... what you said is a bit heart-piercing...”

Qin Yao said, ”Even so, Lawyer Lin, will you still explain these things to us in as much detail as possible?”

Lin Sizhi smiled, ”Anyway, I don’t have anything else to do, do I?

”It’s getting late. You two go back and rest. I want to sit alone for a while longer.”

Qin Yao and Zheng Jie nodded, ”Then you should also rest early.”

After the two left, Lin Sizhi sat outside for a very long time, looking up at the pitch-black night sky.

Finally, he stood up and returned to his room.

...

The next morning.

Li Renshu, Lin Sizhi, Cai Zhiyuan, and Wei Yinzhang came to the small room on the first floor.

Seeing the other three had all arrived, Li Renshu closed the door and got straight to the point, ”Today I mainly want to discuss with everyone the issue of recruiting new members to the five-person group.

”First, Yinzhang’s joining should be without question. When Brother Wang entered before, we already discussed it. Yinzhang was by default in the most forward position, to be filled first when a vacancy appeared.

”The current problem is how to determine the fifth person.

”I thought for a long time last night. Although I have some ideas, I don’t feel they’re perfect.

”So now I want to hear everyone’s opinions.”

The other three players each fell into consideration and didn’t answer for the moment.

The ’five-person group’ in the community could be viewed as the entire community’s management layer. It had existed from very early on, though the personnel were also slowly changing.

After Cao Haichuan’s exit, Wang Yongxin’s joining caused subtle changes in the community’s ecology and went through a period of adjustment. But overall, the adjustment was almost complete.

Wang Yongxin had deposited a large amount of visa time in the community and also played a great role in promoting the evolution of the community’s system.

He didn’t have time to take this visa time with him, though for a player like Wang Yongxin, perhaps he wouldn’t care too much.

But for Community 17, only now could they realize that Wang Yongxin’s existence was actually far more important than this visa time.

Fu Chen and Wang Yongxin’s successive exits, although to some extent simplified the situation within the community, also created a vacuum in the community.

So Li Renshu said they needed to quickly determine the last vacancy in the ’five-person group.’

Seeing no one speaking for the moment, Li Renshu continued, ”Actually there’s another option: we temporarily maintain the current state, four people deliberating, temporarily not bringing in new players.

”After all, the ’five-person group’ is just what we ourselves consider the optimal structure, not a mandatory community rule.

”If we really can’t find a suitable person, we don’t necessarily have to forcibly absorb someone. Temporarily maintaining a four-person structure is also harmless.”

Wei Yinzhang thought about it, ”Ask Yang Yuting’s opinion first?”

Cai Zhiyuan said, ”There’s no need to ask.

”If we ask, given her personality, she’ll definitely come. There’s absolutely no other possibility.

”The current problem isn’t whether Yang Yuting wants to come, but whether we need her to come.”

Wei Yinzhang nodded slightly, ”Hmm... indeed so.

”But aside from her, there are no other candidates, right?

”If we bring someone else in, or maintain a four-person state... wouldn’t it be somewhat hard for her to accept?

”This would seem very unfair.

”In terms of contributions, in-game performance, and time in the community, other players in the community can hardly pose a threat to her.

”Although compared to levels like Officer Cao and Boss Wang, Yang Yuting is still somewhat lacking, we also have no other choices.

”We can’t have everyone before her smoothly entering based on seniority, then suddenly change the rules when it comes to her.”
