God's Imitator

Many players had seen that match between ’↓The Emperor’ and ’↑The Devil.’

But the vast majority of players actually couldn’t explain clearly why ’↑The Devil’ executed that kind of strategy.

Lin Sizhi didn’t continue expanding on this question, nor did he analyze ’↑The Devil’s’ strategy and behavior.

He looked back at the 22 wooden boxes on the table. ”So the question left for me now is...

”Which level will you think of and which strategy will you adopt?”

Han Mengying remained silent, saying nothing.

Lin Sizhi reached his hand toward the wooden boxes but stopped again, asking casually, ”I want to ask you a simple question.

”If I win this match, regardless of what kind of strategy I use... would you think it’s more due to skill or luck?”

Han Mengying considered for a moment and said, ”...Skill.

”No matter what, as long as you can beat me in this game, I’ll consider it completely skill, not mixed with any element of luck.”Lin Sizhi nodded. He had obviously already made his decision. ”I’ll play by your rules. The number I choose is: 10.”

He began quickly opening wooden boxes but deliberately avoided wooden box number 10, ’Wheel of Fortune,’ and casually chose wooden box number 2, ’The High Priestess.’

Inside were 6 vouchers of 100 denomination.

Lin Sizhi didn’t go to choose wooden box number 6 either. He casually opened wooden box number 9, ’The Hermit.’ This time inside were 5 vouchers of 100 denomination.

Just like this, Lin Sizhi opened five wooden boxes, but each time he deliberately didn’t choose the wooden box number corresponding to the number of 100 denomination Wealth Vouchers in the previous box.

The 6th time, Lin Sizhi opened wooden box number 19. Inside were exactly 10 vouchers of 100 denomination.

”Seems my luck is pretty good.”

Han Mengying wearing the ’↑The Lovers’ mask appeared somewhat stiff. Very obviously, this was a situation beyond her expectations, and she felt enormous pressure because of it.

Because under this set of rules, for the ’Thief’ side, the first attempt was where the probability of failure was extremely high.

During the second attempt, since 7 wooden boxes had already been opened and the Wealth Voucher situation inside was known, no matter what kind of strategy was adopted, the probability would be much higher than the first time.

And the ’Thief’ finding the number he chose on the first attempt was the worst situation for the ’Sage.’

But Han Mengying obviously didn’t plan to give up just like this, because she still had a possibility of winning, even though this probability had greatly decreased.

According to the rules, it was her turn to give a number.

Han Mengying was silent for a long time and said, ”7.”

This was a number that hadn’t appeared before.

Lin Sizhi still did the same as before, deliberately avoiding the wooden boxes already opened as well as wooden box number 7, searching among the remaining wooden boxes.

The next wooden box opened also deliberately avoided the wooden box number corresponding to the number of 100 denomination Wealth Vouchers in the box.

Ultimately, Lin Sizhi opened wooden box number 3 on his third attempt. Inside were exactly 7 vouchers of 100 denomination.

Even simpler than the last time.

Succeeding both times meant Lin Sizhi could win the Wealth Vouchers from all 22 wooden boxes.

Han Mengying stared blankly at the opened wooden boxes on the table, seemingly thinking about which part went wrong.

Earlier she had already said that as long as Lin Sizhi won this match, she would acknowledge it was 100% skill, not mixed with any element of luck.

But very obviously, it was precisely because of this reason that it made her even more unable to accept this result.

Lin Sizhi didn’t have any emotional fluctuation and said somewhat indifferently, ”If you want to know, I can tell you the specific strategy.

”But you need to listen carefully, because there isn’t much time. I’ll speak very quickly.”

Han Mengying silently raised her head, waiting for Lin Sizhi’s explanation.

Logically speaking, explaining game strategy to the opponent didn’t seem like Lin Sizhi’s style. Previously in ’Conglomerate Nation,’ Lin Sizhi hadn’t answered questions for Han Mengying.

But this time’s situation seemed somewhat different.

...

Lin Sizhi explained, ”This matter still has to start from the match between ’↑The Devil’ and ’↓The Emperor.’

”I executed the same strategy as ’↑The Devil.’

”’Chain jumping.’

”Which is to actively jump out from the chain of numbers.”

In the previous match, ’↑The Devil’ had initially chosen the number 15, but during the first attempt, he deliberately avoided wooden box number 15, ’The Devil,’ and didn’t open it at all.

All players who watched this match remembered this point very clearly, but most players didn’t understand it.

Lin Sizhi continued, ”The interesting aspect of the ’Number Prisoners’ game is that when the ’Thief’ truly figures out the ’100 Prisoners Problem’ and the ’chain strategy,’ the game with the ’Sage’ truly begins.

”Because the original ’100 Prisoners Problem’ performs calculations based on the premise of ’randomly placing number slips.’

”The reason the prisoners’ strategy, which is the ’chain loop strategy,’ can work is completely built on the foundation of ’randomness.’

”But as long as the warden actively anticipates the prisoners’ strategy and artificially changes the placement method of these number slips, the situation becomes completely different.

”Through a specific method, it can even achieve the effect of making the ’chain strategy’ definitely fail.

”This strategy is very simple. It’s deliberately creating one or more chain loops ’greater than a specific number of times,’ which is the ’Evil Warden Problem.’

”After the ’Evil Warden’ knows the prisoners will adopt the ’chain loop’ strategy, as long as he specifically makes the loop count of these numbers exceed 50 times, then all the prisoners executing this strategy will only have a dead end, and it would actually be worse than random searching.

”For example, the number in box number 1 is 3, the number in box number 3 is 7, the number in box number 7 is 12... this loop continues until the 51st time when the number finally returns to 1.

”In that case, all prisoners executing the ’chain loop’ strategy can only find the slip with their own number on the 51st time, but they only have 50 chances.

”That is to say, they will definitely die.

”And in this game, as long as the evil warden deliberately makes the number chain in the wooden boxes into 7 or more, then when the ’Thief’ executes the ’chain loop strategy,’ it’s a guaranteed loss.

”’↑The Devil’ thought of this level.”

Lin Sizhi paused slightly and continued:

”On the surface, ’↑The Devil’ chose the number 15 but didn’t choose to start from ’wooden box number 15.’ It’s a bit like behavior from a player who doesn’t know about the ’100 Prisoners Problem’ at all and doesn’t know about the ’chain loop strategy.’

”But this doesn’t match his true strength.

”Very obviously, he knows about the ’chain loop strategy’ but deliberately didn’t adopt it.”
