God's Imitator

’↑The Sun’ immediately understood, ”So on the 4th and 5th attempts, you chose numbers 6 and 11 respectively.

”But what if I just happened to set the number as 6?”

’↓Hermit’ shook his head, ”Then what if I just happened to be guessing from left to right? In that case, 6 would be in the range that must be hit in the first three attempts.

”I never said this strategy was a guaranteed winning method. Theoretically, you could set the number to any number, so there’s no way to ensure it’s definitely guessed on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, or 8th attempt.

”My strategy is just analyzing ’probability,’ making as many numbers as possible fall into the ’safe’ range.

”Of course, if you think about it with nested logic, assuming you already know my strategy, you might choose to do the opposite and deliberately set the number at positions like 6 or 11. Then I would just happen to guess it on the 4th, 5th, or 6th attempt and lose the game.

”But thinking this way is meaningless.

”Of course, if you feel uneasy and must roughly judge what type of player the opponent is, you can also conduct some necessary probing before the game starts.”

’↑The Sun’ instantly recalled the question the other party asked before the game started.

”’↑Wheel of Fortune’ gave you two numbers, right?”’↑The Sun’ initially didn’t understand what this statement meant at all, but now it seemed that ’↓Hermit’ mainly wanted to confirm whether ’↑The Sun’ adopted this ’Number Bomb’ strategy on his own initiative by copying it, or got authorization from ’↑Wheel of Fortune.’

If it was copied, then he could just deal with it according to general player strategies, which was the method explained earlier.

But if he got authorization from ’↑Wheel of Fortune,’ then as the person who designed this game, ’↑Wheel of Fortune’ might very likely have predictions about general strategy algorithms.

He might give two numbers, one left and one right. These two numbers might be the two with the lowest probability of being guessed after considering various strategies.

If that were the case, the ’Thief’s’ strategy might also need to change.

When ’↑The Sun’ played as a ’Thief’ player, if he also wanted to adopt a strategy similar to ’↓Hermit’s,’ then he similarly needed to roughly confirm which type of player the opponent was.

From this perspective, there was no guaranteed winning method for the ’Number Bomb’ rule. After all, the first three attempts could cover at most 7 numbers.

For the subsequent 4th, 5th, and 6th attempts, no matter how the strategy was designed, there was still a possibility of stepping on a mine.

But overall, after dismantling all these tactics clearly, the ’Thief’s’ win rate would greatly increase and would no longer be like before, confusedly losing to the ’Sage’ with high probability.

’↑The Sun’ asked, ”Then... how do you plan to cooperate in subsequent games?”

’↓Hermit’ said, ”I’ll arrange for you to do some things. Besides that, you can just play the game normally and collect information.

”Afterwards, I might also convey new strategies to you.”

’↑The Sun’ nodded, ”Alright.”

Obviously, in ’↑The Sun’s’ judgment, although there were players from the same community in this game, they weren’t very reliable. Although their interests aligned, their abilities had a large gap compared to true strong players.

So players like ’↓Hermit’ were better cooperation partners.

...

At the same time, in another match.

’↓The Star’ and ’↑The Magician’ were matched in the same game.

In the first round, ’↑The Magician’s’ performance left a deep impression, so players matched with him afterwards would basically be very vigilant and would try as much as possible to adopt defensive strategies.

But ’↓The Star’ appeared relieved. He first requested to block the sound in the room, then couldn’t wait to speak, ”I ate four and a half fried eggs this morning!”

’↑The Magician’ looked at him, ”Wasn’t it three?”

’↓The Star’ breathed a sigh of relief. The secret code between them matched.

Just as he was about to subconsciously call out to the other party, ’↑The Magician’ reminded, ”Can’t mention communities and names. Hurry and go through the motions to finish the game. I still have tasks for you afterwards.”

Speaking, ’↑The Magician’ pointed to wooden box number 15 ’The Devil.’

’↓The Star’ immediately understood, ”I choose to play according to your rules.

”The first number I guess is 15.”

’↑The Magician’ nodded, ”You guessed correctly.”

’↓The Star’ hurriedly asked, ”Then what should I do next?”

’↑The Magician’ said, ”You also copy this ruleset. I’ll tell you two sets of numbers. You can judge how to use this ruleset based on the actual match situation.

”If in the early or middle stages of the game, or if you predict the next opponent’s strength isn’t strong and they’re not familiar with this ruleset, then when serving as Sage, set the number as 8 or 15.

”Conversely, if in the middle or late stages of the game, or if you predict the next opponent’s strength is very strong and they’re very familiar with this ruleset, then when serving as Sage, set the number as 11 or 12.

”When you serve as ’Thief,’ also make reverse judgments according to this rule.

”If you really can’t make up your mind, just directly choose the first strategy and take away 10 wooden boxes as a baseline.

”But it’s best to still play this game with the opponent and try as much as possible to obtain information from them. Even if you don’t know which specific community the opponent is from, you should at least be able to roughly judge the strength of their abilities.

”If you encounter a player from our community, redistribute based on both parties’ Wealth Voucher situations.

”Let the side with fewer Wealth Vouchers get all of them first.”

’↓The Star’ nodded and hurriedly said, ”Okay, I’ve got it.

”But... this ’Number Bomb’ gameplay should be cracked very quickly, right? Then what if new strategies emerge afterwards?”

’↑The Magician’ explained, ”Even if it’s cracked, this strategy will still be used for a period of time. It’s just that winning and losing between both sides will depend more on luck.

”When new strategies emerge, it’ll most likely be close to entering the free matching phase. At that time, you can wait for me to send you an invitation and then allocate new tasks.”

’↓The Star’ felt much more at ease, ”Alright, I understand!”

After instructing some more details, the game time ended and the two left the game room respectively.

[In this round, the ’Thief’ stole wealth from a total of 22 wooden boxes, totaling 10,999,100 Wealth Vouchers.]

[’Sage’ has 0 Wealth Vouchers remaining.]

[Please both parties leave the game room and wait for the next round to begin.]
