God's Imitator

Wang Weidong was stunned for a moment.

This statement spoken by Lin Sizhi wearing the ’↑Wheel of Fortune’ mask inexplicably carried several degrees of mystical color.

However, a player at Wang Weidong’s level wouldn’t believe in mysticism.

Lin Sizhi explained, ”’↓Wheel of Fortune’s’ choice was indeed influenced by me to a certain extent. His attitude toward you, toward the community, as well as the promises ’↑The High Priestess’ gave privately, should also have played certain roles.

”But what truly prompted him to make up his mind was the community’s ecology and this game’s rules.

”After we 4 Core Communities entered this game, under the constraints of game rules, everyone would tend to push the game’s final result toward a certain specific ending.

”Which is ’a certain trend.’

”It could also be said to be the ’true fate’ of all players in this ’Tarot Game.’

”When fortune comes, heaven and earth all lend their strength. When luck departs, heroes lose their freedom.

”’↓Wheel of Fortune’ figured this out, so ultimately he chose to conform to fate.”If it were other players, perhaps they simply couldn’t understand Lin Sizhi’s words.

But Wang Weidong himself was smart, so he quickly understood.

The so-called ’fate’ sounded like something mysterious and ineffable, but what Lin Sizhi spoke of, the ’fate’ in this game, was actually a visible trend.

From the game rules’ perspective, the four Core Communities would ultimately welcome three different endings.

Two communities safe and sound.

One community voting to execute one person.

One community with instant death for everyone.

Just from the rules, the community with instant death for everyone was definitely the community with the weakest comprehensive strength. This was beyond doubt.

But the community that ’voted to execute one person’ wasn’t necessarily the second-weakest community but rather the community with the ’most serious internal strife.’

If judging purely from overall strength, Community 15 should still be somewhat stronger than Community 3.

But from the perspective of internal strife, Community 15 was the most serious among the 4 Core Communities.

Therefore, ’fate’ would lead toward the final ending of ’Community 4 with instant death for everyone, Community 15 voting to execute one person.’

The so-called ’fate’ was more like the collective choice of core nodes on a web.

For Xu Zhao, he actually had two different choices.

If he chose the path of ’Community 4 with instant death for everyone, Community 15 voting to execute one person,’ then the game’s difficulty would plummet, and uncertainty would greatly decrease.

Conversely, what would happen if he didn’t choose this path?

The game would fall into extreme chaos.

As early as when Lin Sizhi and Xu Zhao first met, Lin Sizhi had already pointed out some possibilities of this game.

Xu Zhao was very clear that a player at Lin Sizhi’s level couldn’t fail to think of strategies like ’finding blood bags’ in Peripheral Communities.

If Xu Zhao didn’t choose this path, then there was only one result: Community 17 and Community 3 would unite, Community 15 and Community 4 would unite, and both sides would respectively snatch blood bags from Peripheral Communities, or go through ’bayonets seeing red’ through strong players within communities randomly matching...

But Xu Zhao obviously didn’t want to go to this step.

Because Community 4 was too weak, and the final result would still be Community 15 and Community 4 losing.

Even worse, this might lead to an even more desperate possibility: all Community 15 players suffering instant death.

Because in such a battle for ’snatching blood bags,’ since all communities played with open cards, how many blood bags could specifically be snatched might very likely depend on luck rather than strength.

Community 15 might not necessarily win against Community 4.

For Xu Zhao, if he didn’t choose to betray Wang Weidong and cooperate with Lin Sizhi, he could only fight to mutual destruction with a very high death risk.

But if cooperating with Lin Sizhi, he could definitely ensure his own safety: as long as Community 4 bottomed out, Community 15 would only have one death, and the one who died definitely wouldn’t be him.

Actually, if Community 15 had to have someone die, it would definitely be choosing one between Wang Weidong and Jiang Chenyan, because these two would unconditionally vote for each other, and other players had no reason to propose a third option.

Given Community 15’s ecology, two game cores with irreconcilable conflicts already had more destructive effects than positive effects on the community.

But for Xu Zhao, he could only choose to kill Wang Weidong.

Because Xu Zhao secretly cooperating with Lin Sizhi was a betrayal to the community, and Wang Weidong, as Community 15’s actual power holder, couldn’t possibly become his accomplice.

Only Jiang Chenyan would become Xu Zhao’s accomplice, cooperate with him, and try every means to cover for him after returning to the community.

Even after Jiang Chenyan became Community 15’s new leader, in order to stabilize power in the short term, he would concede even more benefits to Xu Zhao.

’Accomplices’ themselves were a very strong interest binding.

Wang Weidong had previously barely quelled the hidden danger brought by ’Simple Q&A’ in the community, but this hidden danger was quelled with Xu Zhao’s help.

Once Xu Zhao betrayed, embellishing or fabricating some secrets was enough to make other Community 15 players turn traitor.

Therefore, Lin Sizhi did indeed grasp Xu Zhao’s secret and did indeed use some rhetoric to influence him, but for Xu Zhao, the element that ultimately decided everything was still his judgment of the situation within the game.

After figuring this out, Wang Weidong suddenly felt a sense of powerlessness.

Because he discovered that he seemed to truly have fallen into fate’s web with no power to break free.

Those schemes and plans he thought he had were nothing more than making this web entangle tighter and tighter. Even at the very beginning of the game, his fate was already determined.

”But there’s still one thing I don’t quite understand.

”For this plan to succeed, there’s a prerequisite: ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ and ’↑The High Priestess’ becoming the core executors of the entire plan, which is the middle layer. Only this way could they intercept those ’blood bags.’

”How could you be certain that it would definitely be these two becoming the middle layer?

”I actually also had other choices, for example, the other three players from our community, or... players from ’↑The Lovers’’ side.

”Is it merely because you felt ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ was my capable subordinate and ’↑The High Priestess’ was the second strongest player in our community, so you made this prediction?”

Lin Sizhi shook his head slightly. ”The factor of prediction of course exists.

”You most likely wouldn’t allow ’↑The Lovers’’ community to perform the corresponding execution work, because you’re more suspicious and more domineering.

”As for why you ultimately still chose ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ and ’↑The High Priestess,’ there was of course a tiny bit of my influence.

”Simply put, in my plan, I arranged some specific roles for ’↓Wheel of Fortune,’ allowing him and ’↑The High Priestess’ to more quickly stand out, be discovered by you, be chosen by you.

”Of course, the prerequisite is that when I obtained information about your community from him, I also revealed some of my information to him.”

Wang Weidong was stunned. This was also something he completely hadn’t thought of before.

Xu Zhao choosing ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ as his mask was part of Lin Sizhi’s strategy.
