God's Imitator

This statement made Shen Xing feel somewhat dazed for a moment, almost thinking that the player battling against her was ’↑Wheel of Fortune,’ which was to say, the person who formulated this set of ’Number Bomb’ rules.

But she looked carefully again. That’s right, the opponent was the Reversed ’Wheel of Fortune,’ completely a different person from the Upright ’Wheel of Fortune.’

Yet the opponent used the phrase ”my rules.”

”What are you talking about? Are you trying to trick me like I’m a child?

”You’re clearly Reversed, a different player from ’↑Wheel of Fortune.’ Do you think I can’t even distinguish this?”

Shen Xing was somewhat angry and instinctively exposed the other party.

However, ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ just laughed softly. ”But how can you be certain that we two aren’t the same person? In this game full of mysterious rules, everything is possible.”

Shen Xing frowned, but fortunately with the concealment of makeup, dress, and mask, her expression wouldn’t reveal too much information.

But ’↓Wheel of Fortune’s’ words did indeed make her imagination run wild.

”What does that mean? Are the Upright and Reversed Wheel of Fortune the same player?”How is that possible! No matter how much this game’s rules hint at it, nothing supernatural has ever appeared in the Gallery so far. Something like ’doppelgänger’ is impossible...

”However, there is another possibility. The Upright and Reversed ’Wheel of Fortune’ know each other...

”They might be players from the same community who encountered each other before, so they discussed countermeasures, or the ’Number Bomb’ rules were agreed upon in their community...

”That’s also possible.

”Calm down! My number is already determined, and I’ve already placed the corresponding Wealth Vouchers. It’s impossible to change now.

”If he’s just being mysterious, it’ll probably be exposed when guessing numbers the first time...”

Thinking of this, Shen Xing said, ”Fine, then begin your divination. I’d like to see whose divination is stronger, yours or ’↑The Magician’s.’”

Up to now, even the most obtuse players had already seen through ’↑The Magician’s’ initial technique. It was nothing more than determining how many Wealth Vouchers were in each box through the weight of the wooden boxes.

No matter how exquisite a magic trick was, once exposed, it would become simple and laughable.

So Shen Xing’s words were also hinting to the other party that this kind of mystification was meaningless. ’↑The Magician’ had already used this kind of deception and couldn’t fool people anymore.

’↓Wheel of Fortune’ sneered at this. ”How can you compare me with such crude tricks?

”The Magician’s methods are nothing more than a clever deception.

”True guidance of fate doesn’t need those complex divinations and calculations. It’s like blazing light, visible at a glance.”

’↓Wheel of Fortune’ reached his hand toward the wooden boxes in front of him, but he didn’t touch them like ’↑The Magician’ did. He only made simple sensing from a distance.

His hand hovered above wooden box number 10, ’Wheel of Fortune,’ and he said, ”The Wheel of Fortune controls everyone’s fate. When the wheel begins to spin, good fortune or misfortune are both unknown.

”Fate is fickle, but everyone must accept their own fate.”

While ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ spoke, his hand uncontrollably moved to the left.

”Under fate’s guidance, I will find the number deeply hidden in your heart.

”Is it number 6, ’The Lovers,’ or number 8, ’Strength’?

”Mm... neither. The true fate is between these two.

”It’s number 7, ’The Chariot.’”

’↓Wheel of Fortune’ opened wooden box number 7. Inside, there was indeed one voucher of 100 denomination.

Shen Xing was stunned, because ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ had directly guessed the number she set on the very first try.

”This is impossible!”

Shen Xing frowned and examined the wooden box. She suspected that ’↓Wheel of Fortune,’ like the previous ’↑The Magician,’ had also discovered some hidden property of this wooden box, which was why he could accurately find this voucher of 100 denomination.

No matter what, accurately guessing the number Shen Xing set from among 22 numbers right from the start obviously couldn’t be attributed to luck.

But the problem was that ’↑The Magician’ used weight to judge these wooden boxes, which was at least somewhat traceable.

But the key point of the ’Number Bomb’ gameplay was that the same number of Wealth Vouchers were placed in each wooden box, and there was no obvious difference in thickness or weight between 100 denomination and 1000 denomination.

To accurately find this voucher of 100 denomination, one would need something like X-ray vision.

”Is it some kind of magic technique? There are indeed some magic tricks with performances similar to X-ray vision.

”Perhaps ’↓Wheel of Fortune’s’ strategy is essentially the same as ’↑The Magician’s.’ ’↑The Magician’ disguised magic techniques as divination, while ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ disguises similar techniques as so-called fate...”

Shen Xing couldn’t figure out the trick for the moment.

Since the number was guessed correctly right from the start, there was still plenty of game time remaining.

’↓Wheel of Fortune’ crossed his hands and leaned back in his chair. ”Cooperate with me?

”This ability of mine isn’t limited only to games like ’Number Bomb.’ As long as the Wealth Vouchers in the wooden boxes are different, fate will give me guidance.

”So, no matter how the ’Sage’ changes the rules, it doesn’t matter.

”As long as the game’s rules are still ’find the different Wealth Vouchers in the wooden boxes,’ I can keep winning.”

Shen Xing was silent for a moment. ”If that’s the case, why do you still need to cooperate with me?”

’↓Wheel of Fortune’ explained, ”Because this method can only be used by me. No one else can use it.

”Even if I can ensure I win every time, it’s useless, because we’ll soon enter the free matching phase. Other players will inevitably refuse my game invitations, and randomly matched players will very likely adopt defensive strategies to reduce my returns.

”No matter how much I win myself, it’s difficult to contend against an entire community of players.

”I can only serve as a trump card in special matches, playing a decisive role, but I still need other players to help me set the stage.

”For you, cooperating with the strong won’t cause you any loss either, right?”

Shen Xing considered for a moment. ”Then, specifically what do you need me to do?

”Let me say upfront, as a Peripheral Community, we also have pressure from Wealth Vouchers, so we won’t transfer large amounts of Wealth Vouchers to you.”

’↓Wheel of Fortune’ nodded. ”Of course, if the strong need the weak to provide Wealth Vouchers to survive, then what kind of strong would that be?

”I won’t make any Wealth Voucher demands of you, nor will I ask you anything related to your community.

”If in the end you can’t gather enough Wealth Vouchers and no player can exit through an Exit Area, I can also consider giving you some Wealth Vouchers—but the prerequisite is ensuring our community’s safety, and the amount of Wealth Vouchers given to you won’t be too much.

”And my condition for cooperation is: unconditionally share all information about other communities with each other, in complete detail. Any information is fine.

”As long as you can provide this type of information, I’ll appropriately transfer some Wealth Vouchers to you as compensation.

”How about it? This condition is quite reasonable, isn’t it?”
