God's Imitator

After watching these matches, He Xiaojun suddenly realized that what players from Peripheral Communities like himself currently lacked most was courage.

Because subconsciously they disliked having large amounts of Wealth Vouchers won away, they didn’t dare carry that much.

But this also greatly reduced their own returns.

Moreover, many players from Peripheral Communities didn’t have the awareness to stand up themselves and were still passively waiting.

Just like Community 14, although they had agreed on a secret code for when they met in the game, once they didn’t meet or couldn’t recognize each other, they likely wouldn’t have the courage to probe or actively speak the code.

All this would make them struggle in this game.

This was because such relatively weak communities lacked particularly charismatic leaders. Perhaps there were originally core players in the community, but these players weren’t skilled enough. Once they entered the game and encountered high-intensity matches, their brains would be overloaded and they’d be too preoccupied to care for themselves, making it even harder to integrate everyone in the community.

He Xiaojun suddenly realized that he had to stand up now, otherwise the entire Community 14 might suffer catastrophic disaster in the game.

”The urgent task now is that the game content itself is no longer the most important thing.

”Although players like ’↑Wheel of Fortune’ and ’↓Hermit’ can perfectly utilize game rules to earn excess returns, the most excellent aspect of the ’Number Bomb’ rule is that it allows bringing out more Wealth Vouchers naturally. Even if the ’Thief’ player chooses the first method, the ’Sage’ player can stably retain 12 wooden boxes.”Moreover, large wins and losses are becoming more and more common. Among these, there must definitely be players from the same community giving Wealth Vouchers to each other.

”It’s just that they used this game method as cover, so spectators won’t see through it at a glance.

”Otherwise, if spectators confirmed that certain players were from the same community, there might be some strategies to target them later.

”I should do the same. Even if the method is clumsy, it doesn’t matter. What’s most important now is to carry as many Wealth Vouchers as possible while trying to recognize players from the same community...”

A new round of the game began. This time it was his turn to play ’Sage.’

He decided to gather his courage and also adopt the ’Number Bomb’ strategy.

Even if the number was guessed and he lost everything, he had to show this courage, otherwise afterwards there truly would be no chance of winning at all.

...

After completing the setup, the player serving as ’Thief’ entered the room.

It was the upright ’The Lovers.’

’↑The Lovers’ wore magnificent robes embroidered with beautiful patterns of flaming trees and roses, with the chest embroidery also showing a pair of young lovers in love.

’↑The Lovers’ finished reading the rules on the notice board but didn’t immediately guess numbers. Instead, she asked, ”’Justice,’ want to cooperate?”

He Xiaojun was stunned for a moment. In previous matches, players battling against him had directly started the game without much small talk.

Even if there was anything to discuss, it would all be left for the time after the game ended.

But this time the situation was different.

After brief consideration, He Xiaojun quickly understood the opponent’s strategy.

Obviously, ’↑The Lovers’ was most likely already quite familiar with this ’Number Bomb’ gameplay and had given up the time for thinking about strategy.

Perhaps she already had the numbers to guess in mind, or perhaps she had simply given up the idea of guessing numbers and decided to take away 10 wooden boxes using the first strategy.

In any case, ’↑The Lovers’ planned to fully utilize the game time of the match to use ’off-board tactics,’ that is, to bypass the game rules through negotiating cooperation and directly distribute returns between them.

Seeing that He Xiaojun didn’t speak, ’↑The Lovers’ knew the other party was tempted and proposed, ”Let’s block the sound in the room first, shall we?”

The spectator room could only hear sound from one room at a time. The probability of happening to be listening to this room was very low, but to be safe, it was more secure to block the sound.

He Xiaojun nodded, ”Alright.”

[Spectators can no longer hear the sound from the current room.]

’↑The Lovers’ got straight to the point, ”You should be from a Peripheral Community, right?

”I saw your previous match with ’↑The Magician.’ It was a bit unfortunate.

”However, I can tell you’re actually a player with quite a bit of potential, which is why I’m considering establishing cooperation with you.

”I come from a Core Community. You should be able to know from the rules that we two have a natural basis for cooperation, right?”

He Xiaojun pretended to nod knowingly. He actually didn’t know what exactly this so-called ’basis for cooperation’ was, but as long as he didn’t speak, the other party would definitely continue talking.

Sure enough, ’↑The Lovers’ continued, ”How can players from Peripheral Communities survive in this game?

”According to the rules, at least one player from a Peripheral Community must enter an ’Exit Area,’ which means ensuring a certain advantage in Wealth Vouchers.

”As long as the advantage is large enough, you can even squeeze out some players from Core Communities.

”But conversely, if the returns of players from Peripheral Communities are all very average, they might very likely be squeezed out by players from other Peripheral Communities, unable to squeeze into any ’Exit Area.’ In that case, all players from that Peripheral Community will suffer instant death punishment.

”If you think about this rule according to general logic, you just need to play the game fairly and squarely and earn as many Wealth Vouchers as possible.

”But will players from Core Communities play the game fairly and squarely with you?

”The game has progressed to this point. You should have also noticed that many communities have already mobilized. After confirming the identities of players from the same community in the game, they started transferring large amounts of Wealth Vouchers.

”The reason is also very simple: Core Communities have limited positions. Who would want ’outsiders’ from Peripheral Communities to sneak in? If there are positions, of course they’d prioritize keeping players from the same community.

”Only when vacancies exist will they take in individual players from Peripheral Communities.

”So they’ll allocate Wealth Vouchers as much as possible to ensure players from their community all have relatively high income, with no one falling behind.

”When it reaches the free matching phase, this situation will only get worse, because Core Communities will only send out strong players to randomly match outside players, while internally in the community they’ll match each other to transfer Wealth Vouchers.

”In this situation, if players from Peripheral Communities play normally, how can they squeeze in?

”If they can’t squeeze in, it’s instant death for all. Have you thought about this consequence?”

He Xiaojun was stunned for a moment, then confirmed that what ’↑The Lovers’ said made a lot of sense.

Players from Peripheral Communities were already relatively weak and basically all in a disorganized state.

According to the current trend, Core Communities would definitely try to raise the wealth values of all players from the same community as much as possible, only keeping a limited number of vacant positions.

And the competition between Peripheral Communities would instead be even more intense.
