God's Imitator

The game had progressed to this point, and He Xiaojun had long since figured it out: actually, judging from the game rules, Peripheral Communities should instead hold greater initiative.

Because as long as these Peripheral Communities completed internal integration and forcibly let one player consume maximum returns, they could definitely ensure the safety of all players and wouldn’t suffer instant death punishment.

But for Core Communities, it was much more brutal, because no matter how hard they tried or how much they struggled, one community at the bottom would inevitably suffer instant death punishment.

If players from Peripheral Communities could have realized this earlier, perhaps the situation would have been different.

But unfortunately, their strength was limited. They couldn’t seize such an opportunity. Instead, quite a few Peripheral Communities were torn apart and reduced to blood bags.

’↓The Hierophant’ most likely wouldn’t return to Community 14, but whether he could go to another Core Community was unknown.

These players who became ’blood bags’ wouldn’t necessarily hand over all their Wealth Vouchers. Each person’s situation would be different.

Those who were stupid and had no bottom line might give away more. Those relatively smarter would give away less.

For He Xiaojun, this was simply impossible to judge.

”The problem now is... which community should I go to?”He Xiaojun had also been thinking for a long time.

Actually, judging from the current situation, he instead held the initiative. He could freely choose among the four Core Communities.

Because even if the four Core Communities had external ’blood bags’ providing transfusions, it was impossible for all players to consume the full 11 million Wealth Voucher limit each match.

He Xiaojun’s situation could instead make him the person with the highest returns in the entire game.

According to the game rules, he could freely choose the Exit Area.

[When the number of players in an ’Exit Area’ exceeds the corresponding community’s population limit (12 people), screening will be performed according to players’ ’personal wealth value’ from high to low.]

As long as He Xiaojun entered this area, the one screened out would definitely be someone else.

But the problem was, if He Xiaojun forced his way in, he would squeeze out a certain player who originally belonged to this community.

He might be universally resented as soon as he entered the Core Community.

Therefore, which specific Core Community to go to still needed careful consideration.

Emotionally speaking, he definitely didn’t want to go to communities with obvious malice, such as Community 15.

But those benevolent communities definitely had very harmonious internal atmospheres and were very tolerant of the weak. If He Xiaojun went to these communities but squeezed out weak people originally protected within the community, that would instead be an even worse situation.

He felt somewhat troubled and had difficulty making a decision.

...

The game was nearing its end.

The final match.

Lin Sizhi had already entered the game room as ’Sage’ one step ahead to set up the field, and the one who sent him an invitation was ’↑The Devil,’ Wang Weidong.

This was still the first time the two of them truly met in the Gallery.

In ’Shelter Game’ and ’Simple Q&A,’ Lin Sizhi didn’t participate. In ’Self-Selected Game,’ they weren’t matched together, and in the current ’Tarot Game,’ they happened to be assigned to the same Upright camp.

So only now did they have the opportunity to complete a match through free invitations.

The ’Thief’s Door’ opened. Wang Weidong walked into the room and sat down on the opposite side of the long table.

He looked at the notice board to the side.

It was still the rules Lin Sizhi had given earliest: ’Number Bomb.’

This set of rules was basically only widely used in the early-to-mid stages. Its strategic depth wasn’t too deep, and as the underlying game logic changed in the free matching phase, very few players continued using this set of rules.

But looking carefully, he found the rules had changed: the ’Thief’ only had one chance. If they guessed correctly, they took all the Wealth Vouchers. If they guessed wrong, they took nothing.

However, for Wang Weidong, this no longer mattered.

Because he could also choose not to accept this set of rules and continue choosing the first strategy to take 10 boxes.

Moreover, strictly speaking, this match could no longer affect the final result.

”You actually accepted the invitation. I’m somewhat surprised.

”This means perhaps you’re willing to let me die understanding a bit more?”

Wang Weidong’s state wasn’t very good, but he wasn’t hysterical or breaking down. Instead, he was somewhat calm.

Very obviously, in previous matches, Han Mengying had already sent him an invitation and shared the information and judgments she held.

After several games, Wang Weidong had already accepted reality.

He could do nothing.

Although he could choose to use ’random matching’ to try to win Wealth Vouchers, no matter how high his personal wealth value, he couldn’t save his own life.

Because according to the game rules, when Community 15 became the community with the second-lowest wealth value, the person to die was decided through voting.

And Xu Zhao and Jiang Chenyan could deliberately lower their own wealth values through many methods, thereby pulling down Community 15’s overall wealth value, ensuring Community 15’s wealth value was higher than Community 4’s but slightly lower than Community 3’s.

Although everything could no longer be salvaged, Wang Weidong still didn’t understand some details.

That was precisely how Lin Sizhi had turned Community 15’s players and ultimately sidelined him.

This was merely a possibility that existed theoretically. In reality, it was almost impossible to occur.

Lin Sizhi nodded. ”Then, which part specifically do you want to understand?”

Wang Weidong leaned back against the chair and breathed out a long breath. ”Judging from the results, you successfully turned ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ and used the conflict between him and ’↑The High Priestess’ in the community to make these two betray me together.

”And in my and ’↑The Lovers’’ plan, these two people belonged to the Upright and Reversed camps respectively. They were the middle layer executing the entire plan, the link that directly assigned tasks to the ’blood bags.’

”So, with these two people betraying together, I would be directly sidelined.

”When these two transmitted tasks to the ’blood bags,’ they provided modified plans.

”Some blood bags continued matching with me and ’↑The Lovers,’ making it difficult for us to discover abnormalities, while other blood bags went to match other players and transferred Wealth Vouchers.

”They should have transferred to you and them, right?”

As Wang Weidong spoke, he pointed at wooden box number 3 on the table, ’The Empress.’

”’↑The High Priestess’ wanting to kill me, I had some expectation of. Bringing him into this game, I of course also had other purposes.

”But what I don’t understand is why you could persuade ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ to also kill me?

”I checked your match records. You indeed matched with ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ relatively early, but just ten minutes could persuade him to betray and completely execute your plan?

”This is impossible.”

Lin Sizhi nodded. ”Temporary persuasion is definitely impossible. I don’t know hypnosis or mind control.

”But you yourself have actually already unintentionally stated part of the truth.”

Wang Weidong was stunned for a moment and lowered his head in thought.

”You mean to say... the masks you chose happened to both be ’Wheel of Fortune,’ so this wasn’t a coincidence at all.

”The time you actually laid your plans was earlier than this game...”

Because specific community and player names were prohibited in the game, Wang Weidong could only use ’↓Wheel of Fortune’ to refer to Xu Zhao, which instead made him realize this more quickly.

Wang Weidong asked again, ”You say this is ’part of the matter.’ What about the other part?”

Lin Sizhi said, ”What persuaded him wasn’t my rhetoric but ’fate.’”
