Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 347: Chapter 317: Laboratory 108

After a brief chat with Teacher Wu, the two got to work.

Teacher Wu led Li Qian away from Xianya Garden.

They didn’t waste any time and went straight to the Cultivation College’s main academic building.

The main building wasn’t very tall, grand, or imposing. At only ten stories, it gave off a rather simple and unadorned feeling.

Li Qian followed Teacher Wu into the elevator.

Before long, the elevator had taken them to the top floor—the tenth floor.

”There’s a lab up ahead. Its privacy and security are both guaranteed.”

”You can conduct your Pet Beast research right in this lab,” Teacher Wu said, pointing to a spot down the hallway as she explained to Li Qian.

”Thank you, Teacher Wu.” Li Qian nodded, giving her a grateful look.

”Don’t thank me. It was all arranged by Dean Fei. I’m just running errands.”

”The Dean is busy with something and couldn’t get away, otherwise he would have definitely brought you here himself,” Teacher Wu explained with a smile on Dean Fei’s behalf.

Li Qian heard this but didn’t comment.

He had no way of knowing whether Dean Fei was truly busy and couldn’t get away.

However, one thing was almost certain.

’He doesn’t seem too keen on me researching the evolution from a Three-tailed Cat to a Four-tailed Cat.’

Li Qian could understand why.

After all, Shazhou Beast Taming University had likely already mastered this evolution method.

His own research in this area was, in fact, of no real value to the university.

It was just a repetitive waste of manpower and time.

Although he understood some of Dean Fei’s thoughts on the matter, Li Qian wasn’t bothered in the slightest.

His research into the evolution from a Three-tailed Cat to a Four-tailed Cat wasn’t just for the present; he had much more long-term considerations.

’No one can change my mind about this.’

Besides, the fact that Dean Fei had sent Teacher Wu to help him showed that while the Dean might not want him researching the Three-tailed Cat’s evolution, his support for him hadn’t changed one bit. And that was enough.

After an iris scan, the door to the lab marked ”108” opened.

”This is the place.” After opening the lab door, Teacher Wu gestured inside, but she herself showed no intention of entering.

Li Qian paid no mind to these details. He walked straight into the lab and began to look around, his eyes scanning the room.

The lab was clean and spacious, though not particularly large in area.

It was only about a hundred square meters.

There wasn’t a lot of machinery or equipment inside either.

But while it was small, it was perfectly formed. It had all the basic equipment one would need.

At least, for Li Qian, it was more than enough.

”Thank you so much, Teacher Wu.” Li Qian nodded in satisfaction, thanking her once again.

Regardless of whether Dean Fei had ordered it or not, she had genuinely done him a huge favor this time.

”You can use any of the equipment in the lab freely; Dean Fei specifically instructed me to tell you that. If there’s anything you’re not sure about, you can ask me anytime. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now.” After these instructions, Teacher Wu left the top floor of the Cultivation College’s main building.

After Teacher Wu left, Li Qian didn’t hesitate for a moment and began his research immediately.

The Three-tailed Cat he had purchased had already reached the limit of its Racial Potential, which was Tier One Commander.

In every respect, it had already met the requirements for evolution.

However, without the assistance of a Breeder to guide it, it had no way forward and could only remain stuck at this level.

”Good thing a Four-tailed Cat isn’t very large, or this lab probably wouldn’t be suitable for the research.” After taking out both Beast Taming Balls and muttering to himself, Li Qian released the Three-tailed Cat first.

Li Qian had more or less brainwashed this Three-tailed Cat.

Now, its only thought was to complete its evolution as quickly as possible and become the top cat among cats.

So even without a contract, it was still very docile, diligently and obediently following Li Qian’s commands.

After briefly explaining what he was about to do, Li Qian took out the Limit-Breaking Stone he had prepared earlier.

This Three-tailed Cat had not mastered the Breakthrough Level ”Telekinesis” Skill.

He still needed to guide it through training for that.

It wasn’t that Li Qian couldn’t afford a Three-tailed Cat that had already mastered Breakthrough Level Telekinesis; it was just that such a pet was not cost-effective.

There was also the risk of exposure. Li Qian didn’t want this evolution method to become common knowledge—at least, not yet.

Therefore, he planned to train one himself.

Getting a Three-tailed Cat’s Telekinesis Skill to the Breakthrough Level wasn’t difficult. It would only take about three or four Limit-Breaking Stones.

This was another reason why Li Qian hadn’t directly purchased a Three-tailed Cat with a Breakthrough Level Telekinesis Skill.

”Three-tailed Cat, use your Telekinesis Skill.” He gave the Limit-Breaking Stone to the Three-tailed Cat, having it absorb the Energy from it while simultaneously using its Telekinesis Skill.

The lab was full of miscellaneous odds and ends, which were perfect for training the Three-tailed Cat’s Telekinesis Skill.

Seeing the Three-tailed Cat completely absorbed in its Skill training, Li Qian couldn’t help but think of something. ’I wonder how the preparations for my Cultivation Base are coming along?’

When he had agreed to enroll at Shazhou Beast Taming University, one of his conditions was that they would prepare a lab or a Cultivation Base for him in his freshman year.

Li Qian didn’t know if they would still honor that condition.

Judging from the current situation, it seemed unlikely the university would go back on its word.

Just like that, the weekend flew by. On Monday afternoon, after his classes ended, Li Qian once again came to the top floor of the main building.

In the elevator, a young female teacher suddenly asked, ”Are you a new teacher? You’re so young!”

”Ma’am, you’re mistaken. I’m a freshman this year,” Li Qian replied, quickly waving his hands to clarify.

The two chatted for a bit, and in the blink of an eye, the elevator reached the top floor.

Seeing Li Qian walk straight in a particular direction, the young female teacher let out a surprised sound. ”A freshman getting to use Lab 108... looks like the college recruited an incredible student this year.”

After this brief remark, she wasted no more time and headed off in the opposite direction.

Li Qian wasn’t the only one conducting research on the top floor today.

Around eight o’clock that evening, through his Beast Taming Talent, the Eye of True Sight, Li Qian finally saw that the Three-tailed Cat’s Telekinesis Skill had reached the Breakthrough Level.
