Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 321: Chapter 291: A Strange Situation

Both Qizai and Xiaoliu were quite large, and they looked incredibly intimidating.

However, because their Levels hadn’t yet reached Commander, the attacking Three-tailed Cat didn’t take them seriously.

At least, judging by its movements, it showed no caution and charged straight at them.

Seeing this, Li Qian didn’t hesitate. He immediately ordered Qizai to use a Wind Skill and Xiaoliu to use a Fire Skill, unleashing a Wind-Fire Combination Skill.

BOOM!

A terrifying power, carrying an astonishing temperature, formed a massive fire dragon and collided with the lunging Three-tailed Cat.

With just that single move, the Three-tailed Cat was severely injured.

’Kick ’em while they’re down!’

Li Qian pressed his advantage and issued another attack command.

In just three rounds and three combination skills, the Three-tailed Cat was beaten unconscious by Qizai and Xiaoliu, losing all ability to fight.

After dealing with his own opponent, Li Qian immediately joined another battle.

He went to help Ding Ganmao.

Besides the fact that they were closer, Ding Ganmao’s situation was also the most critical.

As for Wang Zonghan, he was his second priority.

He helped Ding Ganmao attack another Three-tailed Cat.

With his help, not only was the pressure on Ding Ganmao greatly reduced, but he was also able to instantly switch from defense to offense.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Instructor Zhou and the three others were amazed to see Li Qian’s ferocity, and looks of delight appeared on their faces.

They exchanged a look and instantly made a decision.

They wouldn’t turn back to reinforce them!

Taking advantage of the fact that the Three-tailed Cat pack was now down by three, they launched an even more ferocious assault.

Instructor Zhou, in particular, was able to fight against five at once, thanks to his Pet Beast that had just reached the Dominator Level.

Watching the tide of battle gradually turn, Li Qian felt a flicker of joy.

’Looks like we’re going to make it through this crisis after all.’

Soon, the fight on Ding Ganmao and Li Qian’s side also ended.

The two of them then joined the siege against the third Three-tailed Cat.

With all three of the Three-tailed Cats defeated and left unable to fight, the nearby Two-tailed and One-tailed Cats began to grow timid and lose their morale.

After one of the Two-tailed Cats broke away and fled the battlefield, it was like the first domino falling in a chain.

One after another, more Two-tailed and One-tailed Cats scurried into the nearby woods and vanished.

Seeing this, the students had no intention of giving chase.

Many of them were bruised and injured. If they gave chase, there was no telling what other accidents might happen.

While the battle on Li Qian’s side had ended, the fight on Instructor Zhou’s side didn’t last much longer either.

After several Three-tailed Cats were killed, leaving their corpses on the field, the remaining ones saw that the tables had turned. This included the three Mutated Three-tailed Cats, all of which fled with their tails between their legs.

”Clean up the battlefield. We’re leaving immediately!” Instructor Zhou commanded the moment the battle was over.

The bodies of Extraordinary Creatures contained many useful materials.

Take these Three-tailed Cats, for example.

Their claws and teeth could be used to make many things and had decent salvage value.

So, under Instructor Zhou’s direction, the students began to clean up the area.

They placed the corpses of the Three-tailed Cats into their Storage Equipment. The ones that were merely unconscious were captured alive and put into special Beast Taming Balls.

Once they finished, they left the scene without any hesitation.

The fierce battle had left behind a lot of bloodstains—some from the Extraordinary Creatures, and some from the students.

In this situation, such a strong smell of blood could attract even more terrifying Extraordinary Creatures.

Therefore, they didn’t dare to linger for a moment longer and acted immediately.

After cleaning up, the group moved at high speed to rendezvous with the other two groups of new students.

With this new development, they had to regroup and discuss what to do next.

This column of new students had split up to act independently ever since entering the Moon Shadow Forest.

It hadn’t been long before an attack by a pack of Three-tailed Cats forced them back together, which was, frankly, a bit awkward.

After regrouping, they all started chattering at once, recounting the events that had just transpired.

The thirteen students led by Instructor Zhou and Senior Ge Zhengdao were quite surprised to see the condition of Li Qian’s group.

They all took out their personal medical supplies, wanting to help treat the injured.

”You all should weigh in. What should we do next?” Meanwhile, in a dense part of the forest a few hundred meters from the student camp, Instructor Zhou asked, seeking the opinions of the other three.

Senior Sister Ling spoke first. ”This situation is completely beyond our expectations.”

”Logically, a pack of Three-tailed Cats this large shouldn’t appear in the Moon Shadow Forest, let alone in a frenzied state.”

”Even in the deepest parts of the Moon Shadow Forest, a number of Three-tailed Cats like this is quite rare,” Senior Ge Zhengdao added.

Senior Brother Du shook his head. ”And yet here we are, still in the outer region of the Moon Shadow Forest.”

”As for what to do next... Senior Zhou, you’ll have to be the one to make the final call. My personal recommendation, however, is that we prioritize the new students’ safety.”

Instructor Zhou listened, then nodded lightly. ”Let’s retreat to Yuntian City for now. We’ll rest for a day and reassess the situation.”

”If we do that, won’t this training exercise have a strong start but a weak finish? It’ll be a complete farce. It won’t have accomplished anything at all,” Senior Sister Ling said with a frown.

”We have no other choice. We can’t just disregard the safety of the new students,” Senior Brother Du countered.

Just as they were deliberating, a piercing bird cry suddenly echoed from the sky.

Immediately after, a massive beast’s shadow appeared in midair.

The four of them instinctively looked up at the sky and saw an incomparably brilliant light.

It was the Peacock Monarch’s Pet Beast... the Stellar Wanderer!

As the four looked up, their attention was immediately captured by the brilliant light.

They recognized the identity of the Pet Beast streaking across the high heavens.

After recognizing the Pet Beast’s identity, Senior Brother Du instantly made a connection and couldn’t help but mutter to himself, ”To think they’ve mobilized the Vice Envoy of Yuntian City!”

One had to understand, this ”Peacock Monarch” was an extremely powerful figure whose strength had reached the Emperor Level. He was a renowned presence in Yuntian City.

His appearance here undoubtedly meant the situation in the Moon Shadow Forest was even more critical than they had imagined; otherwise, such a prominent figure would never have been alerted.

”This is bad! Fall back, now!” Realizing the hidden implications, Instructor Zhou shouted, his face filled with anxiety.

He didn’t blame the Peacock Monarch for acting as if they were strangers. Perhaps he had noticed their group, perhaps not. Regardless, the man had the right to decide what to prioritize and what to do.

In a true emergency, the lives and safety of small figures like them were important, but not *that* important. It was cruel, but it was the truth.
