Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 333: Chapter 303: Metamorphosis

After contributing its Life Golden Pearl, Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud’s aura clearly weakened. It opened its shell, its sapphire-like eyes locked firmly on Li Qian, a hint of anticipation swirling within them.

Faced with this expectant gaze, however, Li Qian didn’t act immediately. Instead, he rested on the spot.

He understood a simple truth: to do a job well, one must first sharpen their tools. So, he had the Green Light Spirit adjust its condition.

This next Second-stage Evolution was far more difficult than the first. Continuously casting the ”Life Dew” Skill would be a considerable burden for the Green Light Spirit.

Li Qian had to ensure it was in perfect condition.

After about ten minutes of rest, Li Qian felt it was time. He gave the Green Light Spirit a questioning look.

The latter nodded firmly.

It wasn’t that Li Qian didn’t want the Green Light Spirit to rest longer, but Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud’s condition was visibly declining after losing its Life Golden Pearl.

He estimated that it wouldn’t be long before it might drop below the Dominator Realm.

Li Qian wasn’t sure if this would affect the evolution, so he chose the safest course of action.

He would begin the evolution at once.

At Li Qian’s command, the Green Light Spirit didn’t hesitate in the slightest, once again meticulously casting the ”Life Dew” Skill.

The Life Dew descended, drifting down like a sky full of golden motes of light, blanketing the area.

The scene was dreamlike and beautiful, but as the Breeder presiding over the evolution, Li Qian was in no mood to appreciate it.

He stared intently, watching Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud. Before long, just like Irina’s Golden Pearl Bud before it, a faint Light of Evolution emerged from its body.

This Light of Evolution was noticeably dimmer and thinner than the previous one. Seeing this, Li Qian wasn’t the least bit worried; instead, a look of joy appeared on his face.

He was all too familiar with this situation. Golden Rain’s evolution had been the same way—at first, its evolutionary reaction was completely incomparable to Jinfeng’s.

Li Qian knew that as long as the evolution continued, the situation would soon improve, perhaps even undergo an earth-shattering transformation.

He stood quietly, gazing at the state of Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud within the Light of Evolution. The light grew stronger, but there was still a distinct gap compared to the previous evolution.

This gap didn’t close even when it was time to add evolutionary resources. By comparison, it would be hard not to suspect that the foundation for this evolution was insufficient.

Li Qian, however, wasn’t worried at all. He continued to watch, making no move.

At this moment, his control over the evolution, over the state of the Pet Beast within it, had reached an almost unbelievable level.

Every subtle change in Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud was crystal clear to his observant eyes.

At a certain moment, he suddenly sensed the Energy within Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud show signs of waning instead of waxing. He immediately gave the order, ”Now!”

Hearing him, Senior Sister Yilina’s Tidal Sea Spirit acted without the slightest hesitation, immediately offering up its own Life Golden Pearl.

One must understand that this Life Golden Pearl was different from the last one. Not only was its Power Level higher, but its very essence was also significantly different.

This was the Life Golden Pearl of a Tidal Sea Spirit. It had undergone an extremely important transformation, and the Energy contained within had fundamentally changed.

The Golden Pearl flew out and, just like before, was directly absorbed into the body of Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud.

Then, under Li Qian’s tense and expectant gaze, Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud reacted.

The reaction was just as he had expected.

The Light of Evolution, which until now had been clearly weaker and a tier below the previous evolution, suddenly erupted as if a bucket of oil had been thrown on a fire. It surged into the air, reaching a height of nearly two hundred meters.

Such a terrifying and immense Light of Evolution was immediately noticed by Elder Tie and the other two guarding the valley entrance.

They all turned to stare in astonishment at the direction where the Light of Evolution had risen.

”This Light of Evolution is terrifying!”

”The one evolving now must be your Golden Pearl Bud, Teacher Tie.”

”Li Qian was right. The Potential of this second evolution method is truly superior.”

The three of them couldn’t help but discuss it.

Teacher Han Ke even praised him directly, ”The evolution method is certainly excellent, but in my opinion, Li Qian himself is even more outstanding.”

”Now I finally understand why our Shazhou Beast Taming University would spend so much to specially recruit him!”

”Alright, that’s enough talk. We need to be on high alert. With such a huge commotion, I’m afraid... we might attract some uninvited guests,” Elder Tie warned.

Irina immediately thought of something. ”That group from before... they wouldn’t come back, would they? After all, the Mountain Shaking Monarch is guarding this place.”

Elder Tie shook his head. ”I’m not talking about them. They were just some ordinary Adventurers. To put it bluntly, they’re a disorderly mob. They can make some noise when they’re together, but once they scatter, they’re just a bunch of small fry.”

”I’m worried about someone else, or... something else. Keep in mind, complicated situations aren’t rare in this Dimension Plane.”

And as the three of them whispered among themselves, inside the valley, the evolution had reached its most critical moment.

Li Qian was still watching meticulously.

He saw Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud showing a pained expression within the Light of Evolution and immediately spoke to encourage it. ”Senior Golden Pearl Bud, hold on! As long as you endure this, a bright future awaits you!”

”I’m sure you don’t want to see Elder Tie continue to waste away like this. His future is in your hands.”

Li Qian had no choice but to offer this encouragement. He had discovered during Golden Rain’s evolution that a Golden Pearl Bud’s physical constitution severely degrades after losing its Life Golden Pearl. Under normal circumstances, it would be extremely difficult to withstand the Energy impact from a Tidal Sea Spirit’s Life Golden Pearl.

Even a small amount of this dissipated Energy was more than an ordinary Golden Pearl Bud could bear. The pain it had to endure was hard to imagine.

But Li Qian believed that if Golden Rain could endure it, then Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud should have no problem either.

As it turned out, his guess was correct.

After about a quarter of an hour, the pillar of light slowly dimmed. Within the fading Light of Evolution, a humanoid Pet Beast slowly emerged.

It was even taller and more imposing than the previous Tidal Sea Spirit.

The trident in its hand emanated a terrifying, chilling light.

”Congratulations, Senior Golden Pearl Bud... no, I should call you Senior Tidal Sea Spirit now. Congratulations on completing your evolution.”

Seeing this, a relieved smile spread across Li Qian’s face.

At last, the evolution was complete. He had not let down Elder Tie’s expectations and had successfully helped his Pet Beast, the Golden Pearl Bud, evolve.

’At this very moment, Elder Tie must also be undergoing a huge change.’

Li Qian wanted to rush out immediately to see the situation, but after a moment’s thought, he suppressed the urge.

Right now, it was more important to understand the condition of the newly evolved Tidal Sea Spirit.

As for Elder Tie, his situation was surely optimistic, so there was no rush to go check on him.

That was what Li Qian thought, and his assumption was largely correct.

The moment Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud completed its evolution, at the valley entrance, Elder Tie’s own condition underwent a sudden, massive change.

A faint, milky-white light began to emerge from his body.

Bathed in this light, the physical state of his entire body underwent an earth-shattering transformation.

His half-white hair began to fall out strand by strand, like dry leaves, only to grow back moments later.

However, the newly grown hair was all black.

In addition, the wrinkles on his face peeled away like a cicada’s shed skin, sloughing off a layer of dead skin.

The dead skin cracked, revealing relatively younger, vibrant skin beneath.

Elder Tie touched his face and wiped away a layer of the dead skin.

Realizing what might have happened to him, he immediately took out a small mirror to look.

When he saw that the face staring back from the mirror was that of a middle-aged man in his early forties, his eyes couldn’t help but grow moist...

He looked at Han Ke beside him, his gaze burning. His feelings of inferiority were swept away. Finally, he no longer had to feel ashamed of his appearance.

Of course, this was merely Elder Tie’s wishful thinking.

If Li Qian were here and knew what he was thinking, he would have certainly scoffed.

Because even though he was younger, standing next to Teacher Han Ke, they still gave off a ”Beauty and the Beast” vibe.
