Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 330: Chapter 300: Just Consider It a Gift

”About ten kilometers from Outpost Nine, there’s a valley. It used to be the habitat of an Overlord Initial-stage Red Flame Tiger. A while ago, it ran out of the valley and caused some trouble, so I killed it.”

Elder Tie thought for a moment, then added, ”The place is surrounded by mountains on all four sides, with only a single narrow mountain path for entry and exit. It’s quite suitable as an Evolutionary Ground.”

Li Qian nodded. ”A place like this is indeed suitable for evolving a Pet Beast.”

”Well then, there’s no time to lose. Let’s head out now!”

The four wasted no time, acting immediately once the decision was made.

They each summoned their Flying Pet Beasts, mounted them, and soared into the sky. In just a few moments, they arrived above Chushan Valley.

Standing on Qizai’s back, Li Qian looked down at the valley below, then glanced at the surrounding environment and nodded slightly.

It was indeed a good place.

If for nothing else, it was the perfect spot for an evolution.

The four of them landed.

The valley was still a bit of a mess from a previous battle, but that wouldn’t affect the evolution at all.

”This place is very nice,” Li Qian commented again.

With that said, he turned to Senior Sister Yilina. ”Alright then, let’s begin.”

Senior Sister Yilina immediately extended her hand, and a small pouch, somewhat resembling a Brocade Bag, appeared in it.

Li Qian recognized it at once. It was a type of Storage Equipment. However, because it was made from the stomach of a Low-level Pet Beast instead of a Spatial Crystal, its internal space was usually quite limited.

In addition to the brocade-like pouch, Senior Sister Yilina also handed over a Beast Taming Ball.

Li Qian understood immediately. ’Inside this Beast Taming Ball must be the other Golden Pearl Bud, the one intended to evolve in sync with Elder Tie’s.’

A Golden Pearl Bud that had reached its Racial Potential Limit.

Li Qian didn’t hesitate, taking the Storage Pouch and the Beast Taming Ball to inspect them. Inside were numerous evolutionary resources, mostly of the Life and Water Elements. He had originally planned to provide these resources himself and was surprised that Irina had already prepared so much.

”I didn’t know which Extraordinary Resources the evolution required, so I just gathered some,” Irina explained after handing the Storage Pouch to Li Qian.

”Um, actually, I’ve already prepared the resources needed for the Golden Pearl Bud’s evolution into a Tidal Sea Spirit,” Li Qian said with a smile.

Nearby, Elder Tie saw this, and a flash of embarrassment crossed his face. ”Wait a minute, it’s my Pet Beast that’s evolving. Why are the two of you fighting over who gets to prepare the evolutionary resources?”

”I’m not so poor that I can’t even afford the evolutionary resources for my own Pet Beast.”

As he said this, Elder Tie had a helpless, exasperated expression on his face.

Li Qian looked at Elder Tie and explained, ”Elder Tie, you saved my life. It’s nothing for me to provide some evolutionary resources.”

”I’ve never heard of a Breeder providing the evolutionary resources,” Elder Tie’s tone was firm. His sharp gaze was fixed on Li Qian.

”It’s fine, I’ve already prepared everything,” Li Qian chuckled. ”If it’s a big deal, you can just look out for me a bit more the next time we enter this Dimension Plane.”

While speaking, he finished looking through the contents of the Storage Pouch. There were a few items he could actually use, so he took them without any ceremony before handing the pouch back to Irina.

”I’ll just take these few. I don’t need the rest,” he said casually.

”Keep them. Consider the rest your payment for this evolution.” Irina didn’t reach out to take the Storage Pouch Li Qian was handing back.

Li Qian placed the Storage Pouch right back in Irina’s hand. ”What makes you think I’m not getting any payment for this evolution?”

Juggling the Beast Taming Ball in his hand, Li Qian explained the situation, ”Didn’t I ask you to prepare a Golden Pearl Bud whose Racial Potential had reached its limit...”

Without pausing, he continued, ”The situation with Golden Pearl Buds is quite special. Under normal circumstances, when they evolve, they always evolve in pairs.”

”In other words...”

Li Qian trailed off, but the other three already understood his meaning.

”Meaning, this evolution can produce two Tidal Sea Spirits at once!” Irina prided herself on her composure, but even she couldn’t help but gasp in astonishment.

Teacher Han Ke and Elder Tie were equally shocked to hear this.

While still in shock, Teacher Han Ke suddenly spoke up, asking Li Qian in a pleading tone, ”Um, Li Qian, could I ask a favor of you?”

Li Qian was a little confused.

Teacher Han Ke didn’t leave him confused for long and quickly explained, ”Your Tidal Sea Spirit, could you let Irina have it? Of course, we’ll be sure to offer you a satisfying price!”

Hearing this kind of request, Li Qian didn’t give it much thought and responded directly, ”Of course... I can.”

He had agreed readily, but Li Qian was still a little surprised. From what he knew, Irina’s Power Level had already reached Mid-Tier Dominator.

Under these circumstances, the fact that she still had a vacant Contract Position showed just how picky she was about her Contracted Pet Beasts.

’An ordinary Overlord-level Pet Beast probably wouldn’t even catch her eye.’

After responding, Li Qian continued, adding a clarification, ”A fully evolved Tidal Sea Spirit is at least at the Overlord Level. I can’t form a contract with it right now anyway.”

”Thank you, Li Qian!” Hearing Li Qian agree to her mother’s request, Irina’s face lit up with joy, and she spoke with gratitude.

With her status and background, including the resources her mother Han Ke could mobilize, contracting a Pet Beast with Emperor Level Potential was difficult, but not impossible.

However, contracting an Emperor Level Potential Pet Beast that met her specific requirements was a real stretch. Otherwise, her Contract Position wouldn’t have remained vacant for so long.

The Tidal Sea Spirit’s Racial Potential was unremarkable among Emperor Level Potential Pet Beasts, but one of its attributes... Life, was a perfect fit for her needs.

Therefore, the Tidal Sea Spirit was already one of her targets. This time, volunteering to help Elder Tie’s Pet Beast evolve was also partly a means to get in touch with Li Qian.

However, what they hadn’t expected was that the Tidal Sea Spirit’s evolution was so special, requiring two Golden Pearl Buds to begin evolving together.

Just now, after hearing Li Qian’s words, she had already been tempted. But before she could figure out how to ask, her mother had already brought it up for her.

What surprised her even more was that Li Qian had agreed so readily.

One had to understand that once a Pet Beast’s Racial Potential surpassed the Overlord Level, each tier was a world of its own. At the Emperor Level, even the most common Emperor Level Potential Pet Beast was not so easy to obtain. Money was just one of the necessary conditions. Often, one had to agree to many additional terms to acquire one.

So, at this moment, Irina’s gratitude towards Li Qian was completely sincere.

Watching the conversation between Li Qian and the mother-daughter pair, Elder Tie, though also astonished, quickly came to his senses. The corner of his mouth couldn’t help but twitch. ”Hey, hey, hey, you two kids, could you not make deals so openly? Little Irina, it’s my Pet Beast evolving. I don’t want Li Qian to pay for the resources, and... the same goes for you.”

Elder Tie looked at Irina and was about to try and persuade her, but her next words made him fall silent. ”Just consider it a gift from me to you and my mom.”

Irina directly ”sold out” Li Qian, adding, ”The way you two are now, it really is a bit of a mismatch. Those aren’t my words, Li Qian said it...”

”Haha, uh, that’s not important, not important...” Hearing this, Li Qian immediately spoke up to change the subject. ”Right, this evolution is a bit special. Both Golden Pearl Buds should be able to evolve into Tidal Sea Spirits, but for one of them, there’s a bit of risk. By the same token, if the evolution is successful, the rewards will be even more substantial. With your Golden Pearl Bud, Elder Tie, it’s guaranteed to reach Mid-Tier Emperor. Reaching High Tier isn’t out of the question either.”

’Back when Golden Rain evolved, its post-evolution Racial Potential was higher than Jinfeng’s, reaching Mid-Tier Emperor. And Elder Tie’s Golden Pearl Bud has already broken through its Racial Potential Limit—a major realm breakthrough, no less. It’s not impossible for its Racial Potential Limit to reach Emperor High Rank after this evolution.’
