Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 325: Chapter 295: Feihua City

After meeting up with a person who was both expected and somewhat surprising, the three of them wasted no more time and prepared to set out.

Seeing Irina summon her Flying Pet Beast, the Thunderous Griffin, Li Qian asked, stunned, ”Aren’t we forbidden from summoning Pet Beasts inside the city?”

”Things are different in the Dimension Plane compared to the Ancestral Star. You can summon Pet Beasts even inside cities. Of course, you must report it to the Garrison Mansion in advance, and you also need to possess at least Dominator Level strength.”

After hearing Irina’s words, even though he’d already had an inkling of her strength, Li Qian couldn’t stop the look of shock on his face from intensifying.

’From what I understand, Senior Sister Irina here hasn’t even graduated yet. To be this powerful... it’s terrifying.’

The Thunderous Griffin, at least five or six times the size of a normal lion, struck a majestic pose the moment it was summoned. However, with a single command from Senior Sister Irina, it obediently crouched down.

The trio wasted no more time. They leaped up, one after another, onto the Thunderous Griffin’s back. With a powerful beat of its wings, the griffin kicked up a gale, and the three of them were suddenly lifted high into the air, soaring skyward.

After ascending a thousand meters into the sky, they quickly got their bearings. Then, the three people and one beast headed straight east—the direction of Feihua City.

”In the future, remember this: when you’re traveling on a Flying Pet Beast in the Dimension Plane, you must not fly too high or too low.” Once they were airborne and everything seemed calm, Teacher Han Ke decided to take the opportunity to teach Li Qian some basics.

Li Qian’s interest was piqued, and he gave Teacher Han Ke an inquisitive look.

Teacher Han Ke explained, ”In the Dimension Plane, the upper atmosphere is actually a very dangerous zone. High Level flying Extraordinary Creatures frequently appear there.”

”The reason for not flying too low is similar. Some Extraordinary Creatures are adept at concealing their auras, making them impossible to detect from the air. And if you’re below a thousand meters, you’re also vulnerable to attacks from the ground.”

”Combining the many years of experience human Beast Masters have gained exploring the Dimension Plane, we’ve concluded that an altitude of around one thousand meters is relatively the safest.”

Li Qian listened and nodded seriously. ”Thank you for the advice, Teacher Han Ke.”

”You’ll naturally learn all of this once you start officially adventuring in the Dimension Plane...”

...

And so, the three of them chatted on and off. The Thunderous Griffin flew smoothly through the air with hardly any turbulence.

Occasionally, Li Qian would hear a bestial roar from the ground, the sound laced with immense power. ’Those must be some terrifyingly strong Extraordinary Creatures,’ he thought.

Li Qian had a strong suspicion that if they weren’t riding a Dominator Level Thunderous Griffin, they would have already been attacked by now.

The Dominator Level Thunderous Griffin scared off many would-be attackers. After about five hours of flying, just as Li Qian’s butt was starting to go numb, Irina’s voice suddenly rang out. ”We’re here.”

”Why is it so far?” Li Qian couldn’t help but ask, letting out a long breath.

”It is a bit far. Feihua City is considered a rather remote city,” Irina agreed, not elaborating further.

Li Qian wanted to ask more, but he held his tongue. ’Some things... particularly things about Elder Tie... it probably wouldn’t be appropriate to ask them.’

After circling once over Feihua City, Irina took out a communicator and sent a message. Then, they began to descend.

As their altitude dropped, Feihua City came into clear view. Compared to Yuntian City, it was indeed much smaller.

”Feihua City is just a small city with a permanent population of only about two hundred thousand. It’s also the human city closest to the Wilderness,” Teacher Han Ke’s voice sounded again, as if she could read Li Qian’s mind.

”The Wilderness?” Li Qian latched onto the keyword in Teacher Han Ke’s sentence.

Teacher Han Ke continued her explanation for Li Qian’s benefit. ”The ’Wilderness’ is simply the land outside the territories controlled by human Beast Masters. If you head about five hundred kilometers east from Feihua City, you’ll reach it.”

”Compared to human-controlled territories, the Wilderness is far more dangerous. Of course, that means the opportunities found there are also far more rewarding.”

The Thunderous Griffin touched down, and the three of them dismounted. Teacher Han Ke continued, ”Of course, that doesn’t mean the Wilderness is synonymous with danger, and human-controlled territory is synonymous with safety.”

”It’s all relative. Because of the existence of Unstable Rifts, even human territories aren’t a hundred percent safe.”

”Furthermore, even though we human Beast Masters have swept through these regions time and again, some areas still harbor immense dangers.”

Li Qian recalled their journey and asked, ”Like the roars from those beasts in the areas we just passed over?”

”So why don’t the stronger human Beast Masters just clear out those places?” Li Qian pressed.

”Perhaps they want to leave some low-risk training grounds for rookies like you, who are new to the Dimension Plane,” Irina said.

”Also, some Extraordinary Creatures are powerful but not aggressive. We generally just leave those ones alone.”

A look of understanding dawned on Li Qian’s face.

After flying nonstop for five hours, it was now midnight. It would be inconvenient to look for Elder Tie at this hour, so the trio decided to get two rooms in Feihua City and rest for the night.

「The next morning.」

Early in the morning, Li Qian followed Aunt Han Ke and Irina to the Garrison Mansion. In the Dimension Plane, the Garrison Mansion was the true nerve center of any city.

The Garrison Mansion was staffed by a mix of government officials, members of the Beast Taming University, and unaffiliated masters. They were responsible for both the city’s daily administration and its security.

Tian Dazhuang was a common patrol officer at the Garrison Mansion. Today was a bit unusual. The moment he stepped out of the building, he saw two stunning women standing at the entrance. One was mature and intelligent, while the other was icily beautiful. They instantly caught his eye.

”Who are you looking for?” Although he was captivated by the mother-daughter duo’s looks, he didn’t forget his duties and immediately posed the question.

”We’re here to see Vice Envoy Tie Ru Hua...” Li Qian stepped forward to explain.
