My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3096 -1031: War in the Filth (Part 2)

“What are you trying to say?”

Ron gritted his teeth and asked. The medical officer hesitated for a moment, then whispered:

“He has already become the ‘infection source’. Captain, those soldiers who are similarly injured are experiencing the same thing. In a few days, they will descend into filthy darkness. If you truly want your good brother to die with dignity, you might as well help him here.

Let him go on his way while he’s still human.”

“I refuse!”

Ron immediately rejected:

“Perform an amputation on Fraser right away. Once this rain stops, we’ll break out immediately! We still have a few days, right? As long as we find a Priest before Fraser can’t hold on… No! Directly find Sir Murphy!

I’ve seen his miraculous purifying power. As long as we find him, Fraser will survive!”

“Captain, you’re just… Ah, damn it! Don’t draw your gun, okay? Fine, I’ll do it! But I’m just reminding you. Once Brigadier General Fraser’s mind is shattered, he will completely turn into a monster wearing human skin. At that time, even if you don’t want to, you will have to…

Anyway, you just need to be prepared.”

The medical officer pushed away Ron’s gun, already drawn from its holster, and immediately called over his two apprentices to prepare for the amputation.

As a semi-official mercenary group sponsored by Crimson Castle, the warriors under Ron’s command always carried various new gadgets made by foreigners. The medical officer himself had a set of first-aid equipment, packed in a metal box. Once opened, it was filled with a dazzling array of alchemical substances, which were exactly what kept the Black Flame Mercenaries from losing morale in wars.

“Iron Hand!”

Ron called out to his most trusted lieutenant. Soon, the burly Iron Hand Captain came over, chewing a piece of jerky. His muscular body was clad only in a green vest, looking like a muscle monster, and his mechanical arm, twice the size of the other and spewing steam, was as intimidating as a beast.

With this Iron Fist, Iron Hand Captain held great prestige within the Black Flame Mercenary Group.

“I have to give you a task that might cost your life.”

Ron offered two cigarettes, one to his lieutenant and lit it for him. As they puffed on smoke, he said to Iron Hand Captain:

“Take a few capable brothers, and during this heavy rain, pass through the positions of the Wolf People outside, and find a way to contact the Expeditionary Army, report our location to Sir Murphy, and explain Fraser’s situation.

Transylvania and the Cape Family have a cooperative relationship. Governor Morphy won’t watch idly as the Cape Family’s only heir dies here.

This is that guy’s only hope of survival.”

“I have no problem, Colonel, and I don’t need to bring others. I can go alone.”

Iron Hand Captain blew a smoke ring and said:

“But I need your set of Swift Eagle exoskeletons. Its flying ability can let me quickly pass through these hills turned to mud. Bringing more people would just be a burden. But it will take a long time to contact the Expeditionary Army, and time may not be on our side, so…”

The captain glanced at Brigadier General Fraser, who was preparing for surgery behind him, and this rough man said softly:

“You need to prepare for the worst. I think if Brigadier General Fraser’s mind were clear right now, he wouldn’t want to continue living in the form of a monster. He is a soldier with dignity.”

“Just go! I’ll figure something out.”

Ron clenched his fist, said it, and threw the Activation Key for the exoskeleton to Iron Hand Captain. The latter saluted and left with large steps.

The leader of the Black Flame Mercenary Corps took a deep drag of smoke, walked over to Fraser, the feverishly hot and already semi-conscious brigadier general was fixed on a stone, and the medical officer was ready, taking up the bone saw.

He said to Ron:

“The general’s situation can’t use full-body anesthesia drugs, which may shatter his mind and cause a worse situation, so we can only use local anesthesia. To be honest, this is practically murder…”

“Damn, it’s already come to this, hurry up!”

Ron cursed, the medical officer shrugged and dabbed a Halflings’ style anesthetic on the general’s arm a few times, then gestured for his two apprentices to help.

Minutes later, amidst the eerie sawing of bone, the semi-conscious Fraser let out a painful roar, his thin neck veins bulging as he tried to struggle, but Ron pinned him firmly.

“It will be over soon, Fraser, hang in there! You bastard, can you still hear me?”

The Colonel shouted in his ear:

“Do you remember our agreement? The Dune affair is not over yet, you said you would help me catch those damn masterminds! It’s just an arm, without it you can still live, still continue writing what you want to write.

I’ll get you the best prosthetic, ensuring no difference can be seen from outside.

Fraser?!

Damn you, wake up!”

Sensing the brigadier general’s breathing start to weaken, Ron suddenly panicked. An apprentice handed him a syringe, saying:

“Inject the alchemical substance into the general, aim for the heart, hurry!”

“What is this stuff?”

“I don’t understand the principle, but the Pants-less Sorcerer said in these situations you need to inject this. It’s the foreigner’s way of treatment, they call it ‘super power’, quickly! His heart is about to stop.”
