My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3072 -1023: Sometimes Letting Your Values Follow Your Senses Isn’t Such a Bad Thing…

But the next second, her game helmet was forcibly taken off by Brother Huozi.

What she saw was the familiar ceiling of her bedroom, and “Lady Shui” didn’t get up immediately but lay there panting a few times. She rubbed her head and said to her husband with a serious expression:

“This is just unbelievable, I’ve never encountered such a strange situation after playing for so long, what exactly is up with that Daguan?”

“Could it be the development team trying out some new mode?”

Seeing his wife was alright, Brother Huozi also breathed a sigh of relief.

He placed their game helmets aside, poured “Lady Shui” a glass of water, sat beside her, and said:

“We avoided becoming corrupted and fallen, others might not react in time. Should we call them to check? Clearly, this is Daguan trying to do something to players.”

“I’ll contact others on the forum, you call Little Brother Fu, I just saw half of his body transformed into Merfolk, that kid must be scared out of his wits.”

————–

“Ding! Game progress triggered special circumstances, user’s mind suffered impact, safety protocol activated! Connection interrupted, please reconnect after countdown ends, reconnect countdown: 72H.”

As the image on the game helmet flickered, the sneaky darkness dispersed like a dream bubble at this moment.

“Damn!”

Leaping out of bed, Little Brother Fu yanked off the helmet and rubbed his creamy face furiously, only relaxing after confirming he hadn’t turned into an ugly Merfolk. The scene from earlier was still vivid, causing him to stand nervously, rushing to the balcony garden to light a cigarette.

Little Brother Fu’s fingers were trembling a bit.

After all, personally witnessing his body turn bit by bit into a Merfolk with black fins was quite horrifying.

It was practically a crazy nightmare, and standing in the garden of this one-piece villa under the sunlight looking at the beautiful scenery far away seemed more like waking from a nightmare, returning to the human world.

“This 100% realistic gaming experience isn’t good in all situations, playing horror games with this thing might scare the hell out of people! The development team’s dark humor is getting more wicked.”

Little Brother Fu blew a smoke ring, cursing:

“This Lovecraftian flavor is really strong, looks like those Dog Planners have been obsessed with Lovecraft’s works lately. Even though I chose to refuse, that Abyssal Blessing managed to apply, seriously leaving no way out for people. The immersion is indeed there, but it’s a bit too realistic…”

“Ring ring ring”

His phone rang, making Little Brother Fu glance at the screen in surprise. Seeing the caller ID “Brother Huozi”, he answered the call, hearing Brother Huozi’s calm inquiry:

“Did you disconnect?”

“Yeah, directly disconnected. This is the first time I’m not angry about disconnecting; I finally understand why the development team set up that health protocol.”

Little Brother Fu walked to the poolside, lay on a chair, and sunbathed while talking on the phone:

“Are you and Sister Shui alright?”

“We’re fine. Upon discovering that refusing the Abyssal Blessing couldn’t prevent body mutation, Ah Wen and I immediately ‘voluntarily disconnected’. Looks like you’re fine too, that’s great.”

Brother Huozi chuckled and said:

“Ah Wen is contacting other friends on the forum to confirm their situation, you’re fine which is good. By the way, you didn’t accept that Abyssal Blessing, did you?”

“Hell no! Brother Huozi, although free race change sounds good, who would want to turn into an ugly Merfolk? That thing’s body doesn’t have a single point that fits my aesthetics, not beautiful, not cool.

Most importantly, it doesn’t even have strength beauty, far inferior to Wolf People.”

Little Brother Fu harshly criticized:

“Honestly, if anyone wants to turn into Merfolk, they’re too heavy-taste. But might some other brothers accept the blessing pursuing freshness? I see Belly Brother diving into the woods for that lousy fans all day, almost turning into an otherworld adventure blogger.

Heard he’s aiming for thirty thousand fans at Transia Tavern, he might just do such a thing.”

“You’ve got people figured out well.”

After a few seconds, Brother Huozi responded:

“Belly really chose to accept, thinking he might attract a wave of fan attention. But regretted after selecting, his transformation speed in that filthy region was faster than ours, his character had completely turned into a Daguan Fishman before disconnecting.

Ah Wen asked Belly earlier; the guy was crying.

Our respawn time is three days, but he needs a week, due to character data anomalies, needing the development team to complete data restoration before he can re-enter the game.

Seems like the development team didn’t expect someone willing to attempt such absurd transformation at this time…

Uh, you’re a veteran player, so no need to keep up appearances, this time is likely an accident, so Ah Wen suggests seeing a psychiatrist over the next few days. The recent experience might leave some shadows.

The cognitive filter of the game helmet might not entirely erase the impact.”

“Ah! Really so mysterious?”

Little Brother Fu was startled.

But since Brother Huozi was just speculating, Little Brother Fu didn’t take it to heart. After hanging up, he planned to nap in the sun, eventually drifting to sleep and returning to the unfinished scene, like caught in a two-part nightmare, seeing himself turning into a black fishman dog paddling in the abyss.
