My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3070 -1022: Nobody Understands What Daguan Is Thinking, But It Just Did It [2/10]_3

Little Brother Fu sat on Belly Brother’s back and continuously opened tiny rifts with the Stellar Summoner’s long whip, summoning a swarm of savage Star Realm Man-eating Pomfret from the Star Realm, ordering these crazed beasts, whose mouths were as large as half their bodies, to escort the “Demolition Squad” as they approached the Fishmen Nest from the flank.

Their mission was simple yet crucial.

According to the reconnaissance of the Temple of the Giant Rock, The Hidden Worship of Daguan had constructed a nest within these coral reefs under the sea, which was currently incomplete. Amidst the large-scale battle at the periphery, they could infiltrate the chaos and plant deep-sea bombs in the area where the fish eggs were stored, utterly destroying it.

Once the egg-laying fishmen start reproducing, the number increases exponentially, thus making this demolition action the only way to swiftly drive the fishmen away from this sea area. If these eggs hatch, the Fishman Clans would essentially take root here permanently.

By then, it would be extremely difficult to destroy them.

This location is close to the coastline of the Kato area, yet too far from the Large Reef Province. If a fishmen disaster truly occurred, the mermaids would have no viable means of support.

“Ahead! Follow the trench all the way down to the coral reef’s location, there should be a hidden crevice there, where the fishmen’s eggs are concealed.”

Brother Huozi led the way at the front, accelerating the pace for the druids behind, while Lady Shui grabbed a fish gun in the water, observing the surroundings warily.

As they drew nearer to the mission target, Lady Shui’s ominous premonition grew stronger.

She spoke to her husband:

“If this place is so vital to the fishmen, why is there no defensive force whatsoever? It seems they’ve withdrawn all guards from here, doesn’t it seem abnormal?”

“I feel there’s something wrong too.”

Brother Huozi was somewhat uneasy but answered:

“But it’s impossible to halt actions now. To ensure smooth operation, we didn’t bring mermaids along; this time it’s just us players… Even if something goes wrong, we can minimize the losses.”

“I still feel something’s not right.”

Lady Shui uneasily moved her waist, took out a seed gleaming green in the water, and said to Brother Huozi:

“Don’t move, let me give you a BUFF, under the protection of Avalon’s Divine Power before we proceed. According to newly released forum data, Father of Fish Daguan excels at corruptive spiritual spells, I suspect this area might be under his gaze.”

“Yes, let the others receive blessings as well.”

Brother Huozi swayed his tail in the water, pausing actions, and the other druids followed suit, applying spiritual protection to everyone before proceeding.

But even after they fully stepped into the trench under the coral reef, there wasn’t a single fishman seen.

“This is really spooky!”

Little Brother Fu cursed, then took out explosives from the psychic package and dove to the trench’s bottom with them.

Before him stretched a sea of jet-black fish eggs. Regardless of the ugly creatures they might hatch into later, these eggs at least looked beautiful in their current stage, resembling black agates hidden in the seabed sand.

Judging by Little Brother Fu’s view of the area, the quantity of fish eggs in this entire trench was astronomical.

“Face the trial by fire, you foolish ones who randomly shoot things in the sand.”

Little Brother Fu rebuked internally, inserted the specially crafted deep-sea bomb into the seabed, activated the mechanical timer, made an OK hand gesture to his companions, and prepared to leave.

But at that moment, when Little Brother Fu turned around, he suddenly saw a strange fish swimming out from the trench.

It was a pitch-black fish, and its appearance was just the beginning. Odd shadows spread swiftly within the trench, and within seconds, a large swarm of strange black fish surged from all directions, enveloping the players like a dark storm.

In an instant, it blotted out the sky, turning the already dim seafloor into an abyss.

Little Brother Fu immediately sought to counterattack, but in the next moment, he saw one fish among the swarm hovering, wagging its tail before him. The fish had three eyes, exuding an eerie and bizarre light from its unsightly fish eye bubbles.

“Strangers… seeking power and an epic life… I notice you… I observe you… That which you long for is before you… Only fish won’t be overwhelmed by the abyssal tide, and only fish can survive in the warm twilight seas!

Come, accept this blessing of transformation.”

The sly and eccentric voice echoed in Little Brother Fu’s mind, as electric-like paralysis spread through his limbs, following four consecutive San value checks failures, a peculiar prompt appeared on his Adventure Assistant on his wrist:

[External power access… Abyssal blessing in progress… Special player template “Daguan Fishmen/Abyss Walker” is now open… Do you accept racial transformation?]

In response, Little Brother Fu reacted in a classic manner, reminiscent of the phrasing used by newbies on forums when encountering trouble:

“Huh?”
