My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3053 -1017: Oh, Three Five Battles, so you’re playing this human-ghost romance thing, huh?

“Ahhhhh!”

A piercing scream erupted from high above, and even the chaotic storm couldn’t mask the sharpness and panic in that sound.

The Little Mermaid strapped onto Three Five Battles’ back during the aerial descent was nearly losing her mind, and Miss Katerina hadn’t expected that bringing reinforcements to support her elder sisters in battle would commence with such an excessively “cool” entrance.

That creature was indeed unlucky.

Her fish tank was aboard the 013 zeppelin that had just been struck by lightning. If Three Five Battles hadn’t specifically gone to rescue her before jumping down, the lightning-paralyzed Little Mermaid would have vanished along with Captain Selakfenda’s kamikaze assault wave on the island beach.

But the experience of being rapid-descended from high altitude on Three Five Battles’ back wasn’t pleasant either.

The main issue was that the 013 zeppelin had crashed, and the blessings the Wanderer had bestowed upon it dissipated as a result, leaving Three Five Battles and Katerina without that protective layer to prevent fall damage.

However, this wasn’t actually a big issue.

As elite of the elite, the Big Bird Team members’ weapon and equipment level were always at the pinnacle of the player community’s standards. Three Five Battles had his own Swift Hawk exoskeleton and only needed to activate the flight pack at the right time for a smooth landing, but the problem was the terrified Little Mermaid behind him.

“Don’t cover my eyes! Can’t see anything!”

Three Five Battles shouted, trying to calm Katerina down, but “becoming a flying fish” was definitely not in Katerina’s career plans for her life. How could she manage to stay calm now?

Left with no choice, Three Five Battles could only pull the Little Mermaid from his back to cradle her in front, guarding her against the flight pack’s nozzle burns when activated.

The Little Mermaid was trembling with fear—surely suffering from severe acrophobia like other marine creatures. She clung desperately to the brave Transia, burying her head in Three Five Battles’ armored chest, afraid to look as she began to pray to the supreme Sea Abyss Deity.

Oh, great Celestial Venerable, please bless me so I don’t become the first fish in Large Reef Province’s history to die from a fall. That would be too embarrassing.

Oh, and if possible, kindly bless this Transia too…

“Boom!”

Before she could finish her prayer, Three Five Battles calculated the altitude and impact force and activated the exoskeleton’s flight pack.

The two, initially plummeting rapidly, skillfully hovered mid-air to dissipate the impact before advancing toward the battlefield already ablaze in the distance—Three Five Battles had to regroup with his companions and return the Little Mermaid, who was scared half to death, to her sisters.

“It’s fine now, open your eyes.”

Three Five Battles was equally tense earlier, but now flying just sixty meters above ground, he spoke softly to the shaking Little Mermaid:

“How come you’re such a scaredy-cat? Previously, sneaking into the kitchen at the embassy to steal Sir Murphy’s midnight snack didn’t seem to scare you like this!”

“How can they be the same?”

Katerina immediately shrilled in rebuttal:

“Mr. Morphy is very gentlemanly; even if caught, I wouldn’t be in mortal danger. But you jumped with me from a thousand meters high, scared me to death. We Mermaids aren’t meant to fly around in the air; the ocean is our warmest home.”

“Alright, my bad, fine then. I should’ve left you on the 013 zeppelin to let you experience the feeling of being engulfed in flames; becoming grilled fish might better align with your life esthetics.”

Three Five Battles muttered under his breath, shaking his head while speeding forward.

But right when flying over a hidden coastal corner, a lightning bolt suddenly shot up from below and struck Three Five Battles’ exoskeleton energy pack. Thanks to Creator Technology, the energy pack’s safety was top-notch, preventing an explosion, but it stopped operating due to the electrical impact.

Although it restarted after a few seconds, Three Five Battles’ flight posture faltered, causing him to grit his teeth and whip out his heavy shield Unbroken, preparing for the crash with Little Mermaid safely shielded.

With a booming crash, Three Five Battles and Katerina slammed into the ground, impacting the approaching Daguan Fishmen and sending them flying away before mowing down approaching Merfolk with his PPSh’s roar.

The dirt-covered Three Five Battles gripped the heavy shield with one hand and wielded a submachine gun with the other, continuously firing at the Merfolk rushing in from all directions.

As a Silver Ranker, his combat power was assured—the pitiful Merfolk were no match for him. But Katerina was a burden, unable to move swiftly on land, hindering Three Five Battles’ swift breakthrough as he had to protect her while nearing the battleground’s periphery.

“Send a signal, quick!”

Three Five Battles shouted to Katerina while blasting Merfolk from all sides:

“Get someone over to help; the exoskeleton’s flight pack is damaged from the collision and we’re trapped.”

“Okay, okay!”

Little Mermaid was reliable when needed; she immediately grabbed the signal flare Three Five Battles tossed over and pulled the trigger skyward. A crimson light exploded high above, indicating to nearby players that someone was in danger here and needed rescue.

Facing the incessantly approaching Merfolk all around, Little Mermaid was fearless.

Though young and recently of age, roaming Large Reef Province with her elder sisters, she’d dealt with these filthy sea inhabitants before; now, with Three Five Battles’ cover, Little Mermaid harnessed the power of water to relentlessly cast ice storms at the surrounding enemies, freezing or shattering any Merfolk trying to approach.
