My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3094 -1030: If Murphy Rescues Me, My Marshal Career Will End, Right?

But our enemies will also catch on to these changes, not to mention the Merfolk, I think the Wolf People might retreat.

That Gehrman Bonebite is a cunning commander, and when things are impossible, he will definitely withdraw before facing an absolute end.

We cannot allow this group of Wolf People to retreat so easily. I suggest, Marshal, that we immediately launch a counterattack, pin those filthy Jackal People down, drag them into this muddy ground, and once reinforcements arrive, eliminate them here in one go!”

“That’s exactly what I’m thinking, Soros.”

When it comes to military affairs, Marshal Loren quickly shook off that terrible mood and agreed in a very professional tone:

“Our tenacious defense relying on several high grounds has forced the Wolf People to change from strong attacks to besieging over the past few days; right now their formation has scattered, making it impossible for them to quickly retreat in this muddy terrain.

Though the warriors have suffered severe damage, we must, in this final moment, demonstrate the fighting spirit that the Golden Flower People should have.

However, can the cannon still not be used?”

“Still not possible, Marshal. The prolonged adverse weather in the vicinity has severely dampened our gunpowder reserves, but even without artillery support, our soldiers can still fight; everyone is itching for the fight.”

General Soros responded:

“Master Bach has already created medicine that temporarily helps soldiers resist that damned chaotic plague, and Psychics are rushing production, by tomorrow at the latest some elite will have the capability for frontal combat.”

“Then we’ll do it tomorrow!”

The Marshal grabbed his battle axe and said:

“Tomorrow I’ll personally lead the team and command, and I will ensure a brilliant counterattack. Where are Fraser and his warriors now? Can we still contact them?”

“Current communications have been interrupted by the Wolf People’s interference magic on spiritual energy, the Calculating Pearl cannot maintain unimpeded connection, but based on the last communication, I am sure they should be operating guerrilla warfare in some area beneath our high ground, the Black Flame Mercenaries have already joined forces with Brigadier General Fraser.”

General Soros spoke in a somewhat complex tone when mentioning “Black Flame Mercenaries”, but this was not the time to consider such private matters; he said to Marshal Loren:

“Based on our observations of this damned weather, there is unlikely to be a downpour by dusk; if we are to launch a counterattack, that will be the most suitable timing. I will dispatch Scouts to continue searching for Brigadier General Fraser’s troop movements, once contacted before the battle, then this operation can smoothly bring that kid and his warriors back.

If not for their decisive actions at critical moments before, we could not have safely retreated to the high ground.”

“Yes, a Black Disaster forged Fraser from a literary youth into a qualified General, and now the surviving soldiers and officers on the high ground owe him a debt.”

Marshal Loren sighed and said:

“We must find him; I brought him to this battlefield, I must ensure his safety, otherwise the Blackfoot Fox’s revenge will drag us all into hell.

I yearn to prove with a victory that the Golden Flower People can face the Wolf People without losing to the Transia People; my excessive desire for victory has dulled my sensitivity to changes in the situation, dragging us into this quagmire.

This is all my fault.”

“What does it have to do with you, Marshal?”

General Soros shook his head and said:

“The alliance between the Wolf People and Merfolk exceeded everyone’s expectations; we merely ran into the muzzle, even in such harsh environments we’ve held on till now, without letting the fierce filthy Jackal People step over the northern hills.

Do not bear this responsibility that doesn’t belong to you, Marshal.

You just need to focus on how to lead us to win this battle, it’s the last battle of this Black Disaster, when you personally achieve that glorious victory, the Golden Flower People will gain that pride of their own accord.

Of course, the Governor of Transia will surely not miss the chance to mock us.

But compared to victory, a trivial humiliation is nothing; neither you nor we will fear it.”

“Yes, trivial humiliation is not worth fearing.”

Marshal Loren looked at the pouring rain outside the tent; this damned weather made him feel as though standing in a muddy hell; he looked at the dim sky and said:

“But Murphy and his warriors will bring me more than just humiliation, Soros; there will come a day to repay the debt of Westerburg, and I am not afraid of that outcome, just hope they can give me more time before then.

After assisting my King to complete his great endeavor, I will also go to the afterlife with a smile.”
