The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: The 3rd Route Ambush

”Despicable scoundrel! You have no martial virtue! If you have the guts, shoot me and kill me!”

As the Fire Sword, he was extremely confident in his Martial Arts Swordsmanship. Zhang Yun had just chopped down over twenty saber-wielders, but in his observation, it was nothing special. It was merely that his Body Technique was passable; his Saber Technique completely lacked any method.

Using a saber or a sword both fell within the scope of martial arts weapons. Using a gun was simply cheating!

”I was going to kill you anyway! Why do you need to ask if I have the guts?”

Zhang Yun snorted disdainfully. He aimed one gun at the man’s heart and the other at his head. ”A single shot to the head seems to be letting you off too easily. It might be better to let you slowly wait for death like the rest of them.”

Yang Zhao could tell that Zhang Yun wasn’t just threatening him. He was truly going to shoot, just as he had already shot him once a moment ago!

”You can’t kill me!” He began to panic. ”Do you know who I am? If you kill me, a great disaster will befall you!”

”Are you threatening me?” Zhang Yun furrowed his brows.

”I am no self-taught swordsmanship master. I am Fire Sword Yang Zhao. If you kill me, my sect—”

”BANG!”

Zhang Yun fired directly, blowing his head off with a single shot! Yang Zhao died with his eyes wide open. He never imagined that bringing up his sect would actually cause Zhang Yun to shoot him so decisively!

”A great disaster?” Zhang Yun thought with a sneer. ”I’ve already shot you once. If I don’t shoot again, will we just live together in peace? You would only double your efforts to get revenge on me!”

Judging from his encounter with Ouyang Qilin last night, he felt that leaving any survivors would just be digging his own grave. Even a single chance to make a phone call could allow them to orchestrate many things. Of course, the people wailing on the ground right now didn’t count. They were merely lackeys who couldn’t even protect themselves, so they had no qualifications to speak of revenge.

In gunfights and action movies, the protagonist either had infinite ammo or resorted to hand-to-hand combat at the very end. That was a common cinematic trope. But when Zhang Yun watched movies as a child, he always felt anxious and frustrated, wondering why they never picked up the enemies’ weapons. Perhaps it was this mindset that led him to pick up all the guns yesterday. Now that he had finished off Yang Zhao, he didn’t hesitate to pick up his sword as well.

He looked around with the sword in hand, sweeping his gun muzzle across the area. The pile of saber-wielders lying on the corridor floor all shivered in fear, terrified that Zhang Yun was going to pierce their hearts with a single sword strike.

”There’s a BMW with an XX license plate in the parking lot. Who drove it here? That’s not your car!”

Everyone was stunned when Zhang Yun said this. They thought, ”Boss! This is a life-and-death struggle, and you’ve turned this place into a Chaotic Scene. Why do you suddenly care about a car?”

One person hurriedly raised his hand. ”I drove it! But I didn’t steal it. They drove it over yesterday. I don’t know anything...”

”Where are the keys?” Zhang Yun stepped forward and asked for them, confirming that they were indeed the keys to Zhang Youcai’s car.

”Don’t kill me. I really didn’t steal it...”

”You’re very obedient, so I won’t kill you.” Zhang Yun nodded with a smile and asked another question. ”Will someone tell me about the ambush situation here? Where is your boss?”

Zhang Yun had just chopped up over twenty of them and killed the swordsmanship master specially invited by their boss. Now, armed with a gun in one hand and a sword in the other, who would dare stand against him? Even though their sabers were tossed onto the ground, no one had the courage to pick one up and fight Zhang Yun to the death. Seeing that the guy who handed over the keys was spared, everyone immediately started talking over each other to provide information.

”Boss Liu isn’t here. This is Building A, and Boss Liu is waiting for news next door in Building B.”

”The boss arranged three groups of ambushers. We are the first group, responsible for the frontal assault. If we couldn’t handle it, that swordsmanship master was supposed to make a move.”

”There’s also a woman who uses a gun, but we don’t know where she’s hiding either. If the one with the sword failed too, she would strike...”

Zhang Yun wasn’t overly surprised. He had fired his gun last night and used it to intimidate Brother Long and his men. It was impossible for Liu Yandao to only rely on human wave tactics against him. This first wave was just cannon fodder meant to deplete his bullets. If he fired all of his remaining rounds, the gun in his hand would just be a piece of scrap metal! At that point, Yang Zhao would step in and successfully eliminate him. The female sniper hiding in the dark was just an added layer of insurance.

”You missed one thing. Given your boss’s usual style, he probably rigged this Building A factory with explosives and plans to level the place in a bit!”

Hearing this, all the heavily injured saber-wielders panicked! If that were true, would they even be able to escape? Those whose legs hadn’t been chopped off hurriedly scrambled up, ignoring their pain, and stumbled toward the stairwell. Those who couldn’t walk desperately crawled toward the elevator.

Zhang Yun didn’t go with them. Gripping the sword in one hand and the gun in the other, he quickly sprinted down the corridor! He had already fired two shots. Regardless of where the female shooter was hiding, she should know that something was wrong here and would definitely try to ambush him. He couldn’t go after Liu Yandao without eliminating this hidden enemy!

”AH!”

As Zhang Yun was charging forward, he heard a sound of surprise mixed into the panicked screams behind him. He swiftly pressed his back against the adjacent wall and immediately looked back. Just as he expected! A woman in black darted out of the stairwell. The earlier sound of surprise had come from the terrified, retreating casualties when they saw her. When Zhang Yun looked over, she also spotted him clearly and fired right away!

”BANG! BANG!”

Both of them fired at almost the exact same time! The female shooter’s advantage was her superior marksmanship and that she was a more prepared attacker from behind. Her disadvantage was that she had just rushed out and had no cover, making her easier to hit. Zhang Yun’s advantage was being pressed against the wall, reducing his target area while allowing him to shoot at her more easily. His disadvantage was his lack of professional training and poor marksmanship. He was fine at close range, but it was hard to say once distance was involved.

At the moment they fired, both of them simultaneously reacted to dodge! The woman in black swiftly dodged to the side, grabbing a fleeing, injured saber-wielder to use as a human shield. Zhang Yun, on the other hand, threw himself backward. As he fell, he adjusted his gun muzzle and fired another shot!

The woman in black also fired continuously. Her aim was much more accurate, hitting the wall where he had just been. If he hadn’t fallen down, he probably would have been shot by now. Falling to the ground was a trick Zhang Yun had just learned on the fly. Although it helped him evade temporarily, it also put him in a passive position, making any further dodging or movement inconvenient.

After missing two consecutive shots, Zhang Yun didn’t waste any more bullets. He immediately made a motion as if darting toward the adjacent wall! Coordinating with this movement, he willed himself into the Peach Blossom Spring Space.

Zhang Yun left his sword in the Peach Blossom Spring Space and readied his dual guns once more, silently calculating the time. After the woman in black saw him disappear, she would inevitably fire another shot at his original spot; even if he used a Blinding Technique for Invisibility, she could still hit him. Only after realizing it was ineffective would she give chase. What she saw was Zhang Yun making a motion to pass through the wall, but she probably wouldn’t believe a person could actually do so. Consequently, she would open the nearby door and go inside to check.

He would reappear in the exact same spot. Zhang Yun had to calculate the timing perfectly. If she was aiming at his spot and waiting for him when he reappeared, it would be extremely awkward.

He counted down in his head, ”Three, two, one! Return!”

As soon as he exited the Peach Blossom Spring Space, Zhang Yun cursed inwardly, ”Fuck!”
