The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Witnessing Melodrama

After crossing the street, Zhang Yun wasn’t sprinting away to avoid Ouyang Mingruo. Instead, he had spotted a familiar figure!

He had just run into a blind date set up by his second uncle during morning tea. Was he really bumping into another acquaintance after being outside for only a few minutes?

Zhang Yun didn’t recognize the person at first glance, but since the figure looked familiar, they must have met before. Having nothing better to do anyway, he decided to follow the person and take a look.

He followed the figure into a shopping mall, which was why Ouyang Mingruo couldn’t find him after she crossed the street.

Once inside, Zhang Yun caught up and took a closer look, finally remembering who it was.

It turned out to be Yang Xiaoyun’s ex-husband, Tang Zhiwei!

That day at Yang Xiaoyun’s house, Tang Zhiwei had shown up unexpectedly. Seeing that no one else was home and Yang Xiaoyun was wearing nothing but a nightgown, he had assumed they had just slept together and cursed them out.

Zhang Yun had immediately taught him a lesson, terrifying Tang Zhiwei so much that he ran away in a hurry, completely forgetting to pick up his twin children.

This wasn’t exactly a friendly acquaintance, and there was certainly no joy in running into an old face far from home. Zhang Yun instantly lost interest.

However, since he had already followed Tang Zhiwei onto the escalator, he figured he might as well ride it up before deciding what to do.

Tang Zhiwei, on the other hand, didn’t recognize Zhang Yun at all!

The person he had seen that day was a small-town youth—a country bumpkin. Zhang Yun was now dressed in a designer suit, making it impossible for anyone to connect the two.

Tang Zhiwei was staring anxiously upward. As soon as the escalator reached the top, he jogged over at a brisk pace.

”Feifei!”

”What took you so long?” a heavily made-up young woman complained impatiently.

”Don’t even mention it! It’s just my bad luck. Didn’t that woman drop my sons off?” Tang Zhiwei looked thoroughly displeased.

Feifei, who had been impatient a second ago, immediately became alert. ”Your ex-wife? Oh, I see. You two are messing around again!”

Zhang Yun had no interest in Tang Zhiwei. He had originally planned to take a quick lap around the floor and leave, but seeing him with a young woman and hearing a conversation that seemed to involve Yang Xiaoyun, he slowly trailed behind them.

”Messing around? The moment that jinx got out of the car, she sprained her ankle, making the two kids worry sick. I bet she was just faking it!”

”Tch! She’s definitely faking it! So she’s staying at your place now?”

”Like I’d care about her! She can go wherever she wants! Of course, I was in a rush to come see you, baby.” Tang Zhiwei chuckled, wrapping an arm around her waist.

Feifei squirmed a little, still somewhat displeased. ”Then where is she now?”

”How should I know? A hotel, probably!”

”Ask her! Let’s go visit and see how her ’injury’ is.” Feifei gave a faint, cold sneer.

”Huh? Us? Visit her?” Tang Zhiwei froze, suspecting he had misheard.

Feifei snorted. ”Didn’t she call me a homewrecker? I’ve never had the chance to show her what a real homewrecker looks like face-to-face. A sprained ankle is the perfect excuse for a visit!”

”But...” Tang Zhiwei frowned. ”Isn’t that a bit inappropriate?”

Bringing the mistress to see the lawful wife wasn’t exactly an honorable thing to do.

Feifei’s expression darkened. ”Tang Zhiwei! What’s inappropriate about bringing your current girlfriend to visit your ex-wife? Do you still see me as the mistress and her as the rightful wife?”

”Keep your voice down! What nonsense are you spouting?” Tang Zhiwei hurriedly lowered his voice. ”I just mean that I can’t be bothered to contact her...”

”I’m telling you to contact her!”

”...”

”You dumped her and found a young, beautiful new girlfriend. Doesn’t that prove your charm? Why are you acting guilty? Can’t bear to do it? Afraid of hurting her?” Feifei continued in a sarcastic tone, ”Did you forget how her little toyboy played you for a fool?”

Tang Zhiwei instantly flared up. ”Damn it! It pisses me off just thinking about it! Let’s go! Make sure you put on a good show later and piss her off!”

Feifei immediately clung to his arm, kissed him on the cheek, and smiled sweetly. ”Darling, I’ll listen to you best. I’ll do whatever you say and act however you want me to.”

Tang Zhiwei beamed, immediately pulling out his phone. He sent a voice message asking Yang Xiaoyun where she was staying, claiming he wanted to visit her.

Yang Xiaoyun probably assumed he was bringing the children along, as she replied almost immediately.

”The Vienna on Chunyang Road, Room 1503,” Tang Zhiwei read the message aloud.

”Let’s go. We’ll give her a surprise!” Feifei grew excited.

She had been cursed at for being a mistress, and now that she was officially the girlfriend, she was going to vent all her pent-up frustration!

Walking behind them as a mere ’passerby,’ Zhang Yun listened to this entire melodramatic romantic scheme and could only think of one phrase: utterly shameless!

His first reaction was to step forward, slap Feifei a few times, and beat Tang Zhiwei to a pulp!

But he quickly held himself back. They were only discussing it; they hadn’t done anything yet. If they brushed it off as a joke, he would be the one in the wrong.

However, Tang Zhiwei had agreed to Feifei’s plan specifically because Zhang Yun had taught him a lesson last time. This meant Zhang Yun couldn’t just ignore the situation!

Zhang Yun retreated to a corner and snapped a picture of the two with his phone.

He considered sending it to Yang Xiaoyun to warn her about their scheme in advance. If she was prepared, she wouldn’t be hurt as much, right?

But he quickly abandoned the idea. Last time, Tang Zhiwei’s insults alone were enough to make Sister Xiaoyun cry from anger. Now, with the addition of a two-faced schemer like Feifei, it would probably break her completely!

Besides, last time she was at her parents’ home. Now, she was all alone in a hotel with a sprained ankle...

At the thought of this, Zhang Yun decided he had to make a trip there himself. It would be one thing if he hadn’t known, but since he did—and he had nothing else to do—it would be unjustifiable not to go help her.

He thought, ”As for Tang Zhiwei misunderstanding? To hell with him!”

Last time, Zhang Yun hadn’t wanted Yang Xiaoyun to be falsely accused, so he had patiently explained things. He hadn’t even hit him, merely scaring him off. Now that it was clear Tang Zhiwei didn’t believe him anyway, why should he care about the man’s feelings?

Since Tang Zhiwei already thought he had been cuckolded, Zhang Yun might as well lean into it and disgust him!

Figuring they would head to the parking lot first, Zhang Yun immediately hailed a DiDi. While waiting for the ride, he found a pharmacy and bought some Medicinal Wine.

Since taking a DiDi meant he didn’t have to navigate a parking lot, Zhang Yun could easily arrive before them. He didn’t call Yang Xiaoyun in advance, planning to just knock on her door and surprise her.

Thinking about how her ex-husband and his former mistress were about to show up just to flaunt their affection and rub it in her face, Zhang Yun wondered if he should buy a bouquet of flowers as a prop.

However, he had no Experience buying flowers, so he decided against it.

When the elevator reached the 15th floor, Zhang Yun started looking for Room 1503. He spotted it not far away, but the door was left ajar, and someone was shouting inside!

He cursed inwardly; Tang Zhiwei and Feifei had actually arrived first!

Zhang Yun quickly hurried over. Sure enough, Tang Zhiwei and Feifei were already in the room. They had probably just walked in, leaving the door ajar behind them.

”A country bumpkin is just a country bumpkin. Look at how you dress and how you carry yourself. Tsk, tsk. How are you worthy of Zhiwei? Didn’t you call me a homewrecker? Well, being a homewrecker requires having some actual assets!

”You called me a mistress, but Zhiwei saw it with his own eyes this time. You’ve been hooking up with your little toyboy for a long time. You shameless bitch, trying to shift the blame onto me!”

Feifei’s words were vicious, but her tone was sickeningly sweet. Zhang Yun pushed the door open to see Yang Xiaoyun sitting on the bed, trembling with anger, while Feifei stood arrogantly, looking down at her with contempt.

Tang Zhiwei sneered. ”Not only did she hook up with a little toyboy, but it was even a student she used to teach! It’s utterly shameless!”
