The Fantastic Little Farmer

Chapter 162: Chapter 162: No Need to Do It Yourself

Everyone was scared witless! When they saw Zhang Yun pull out a gun, their first reaction was that it was a toy meant to bluff them. They never expected that he had purposely turned into this alley just so he could instantly enter the Peach Blossom Spring Space and retrieve a real firearm.

He had fired a shot at the wall. The deafening blast and the shower of flying brick shards clearly proved it was no toy.

The frontmost thugs reacted next, immediately dropping their knives and squatting down with their hands over their heads! The rest quickly followed suit. A few snapped out of their daze and wanted to run, but before they could even move their legs, reality hit them. Could they outrun a bullet? Even if they wanted to hide behind obstacles, they would first have to make it out of the alley! Thus, everyone hastily crouched down.

”D-don’t kill me!”

Just moments ago, they were full of swagger, but now they were trembling like leaves, clutching their heads and begging for mercy.

The gang boss, who had been about to light a cigarette, found his hands shaking so violently that he couldn’t strike the lighter. He cursed Tang Zhiwei in his heart, wondering why the man had claimed this kid was just a country bumpkin. Anyone carrying a gun, whether they were from the underworld or the authorities, was someone they couldn’t afford to provoke. They wouldn’t touch this job even for ten times the pay! Now, none of them dared to move a muscle.

Tang Zhiwei was also dumbfounded. He hadn’t expected Zhang Yun to be this hardcore, and he frantically wondered how they were supposed to wrap this up now.

Zhang Yun swept the muzzle of the gun back and forth. ”Which one of you wanted to stab me in the ass just now?”

”Him!”

At least five thugs at the front completely abandoned their loyalty, pointing at the one who had spoken earlier. They quickly shuffled to the side, terrified of being implicated.

”B-b-b-boss... s-s-spare me! I was blind as a bat to who I was dealing with...” The thug’s face scrunched up in despair, nearly wetting himself in fear.

”Whoever helps me stab him gets a free pass...”

Before Zhang Yun could even finish his sentence, at least three or four thugs snatched up their dropped knives and thrust them right into the man’s buttocks! The victim let out a bloodcurdling scream and collapsed face-first onto the ground!

The four assailants bowed and scraped, unsure if Zhang Yun would keep his word. After all, he had only asked for one stab, and now there were four.

Zhang Yun smiled and nodded. ”Not bad. Go stand in the back. Bullets don’t have eyes, so don’t get accidentally caught in the crossfire.”

”Yes, sir!” The four men acted as if they had received a royal pardon, scurrying behind Zhang Yun and pressing themselves tightly against the dead-end wall.

”Now...” Before Zhang Yun could say anything else, the remaining thugs immediately jumped up and bolted backward!

The guy who threatened to stab Zhang Yun’s ass ended up getting stabbed himself. Who was left? Tang Zhiwei, of course—the one who demanded Zhang Yun kneel! The four who had used their knives were actually spared and were no longer in the line of fire, which proved this young man was a man of his word.

They weren’t running away; they were swarming forward to drag Tang Zhiwei over!

”Boss! We brought him to you!”

”Kneel!”

”Boss, I’ll break his legs for you!”

Tang Zhiwei suddenly snapped out of his daze. He quickly clamped his legs together and fell to his knees. That was the only way to avoid having his legs broken. He figured that even if he couldn’t save his two legs, he had to protect his third leg—that couldn’t be reattached.

”I’m sorry! Grandpa! Grandpa!”

True to form, Tang Zhiwei acted exactly as he always did. The moment things went south, he instantly lost his spine and proactively surrendered, calling Zhang Yun his grandfather.

”What did he demand earlier? Kneeling, spitting, stomping on the face, breaking legs, breaking the nose, and calling me grandpa.” Zhang Yun counted them off. ”He’s only completed two of those so far. You guys...”

There were still six or seven thugs left, and none of them wanted a bullet to the head. Without a word, they scrambled over each other to lay their hands on Tang Zhiwei! One man viciously spat on Tang Zhiwei’s face over and over again! Another stomped heavily on Tang Zhiwei’s face, fulfilling the tasks of face-stomping and nose-breaking in one swift move. The remaining few kicked and stomped on Tang Zhiwei until his shins were fractured!

”Boss, does this look alright to you?”

Everyone looked at Zhang Yun ingratiatingly. As long as he expressed any dissatisfaction, they would gladly continue their abuse.

Their own gang boss finally walked over.

”Young Master, we truly were blind to offend you, and Tang Zhiwei was blind as well...” As he spoke, he picked up a knife from the ground and slashed it directly into his own leg!

”Boss!” The thugs were all stunned.

Enduring the agonizing pain, the boss bowed to Zhang Yun. ”This is my sincere apology. Please let us go!”

As the leader, he naturally thought much deeper. Tang Zhiwei had listed a bunch of demands, and now all of them had been inflicted upon Tang Zhiwei himself. But his subordinates had literally chased this young man with knives. Would they be let off the hook so easily? For the sake of everyone’s safety, he had no choice but to stab himself first!

”You’ve got some good nerve. Since Tang Zhiwei received his due punishment and you took the initiative to cut yourself, I’ll let them go!”

With the sheer deterrent power of a single gunshot, Zhang Yun hadn’t even needed to lift a finger. These thugs had done all his dirty work for him. As he began walking out of the alley, the thugs hastily bowed to let him pass.

”Old Tang, you nearly got us all fucking killed!” the boss cursed, unable to bear the excruciating pain any longer.

Tang Zhiwei burst into tears. He could tolerate humiliation, but severe injuries were too much to handle!

”Stop talking, you guys...” He wanted to curse them out but didn’t dare. If these thugs started beating him again, he would be in deep trouble. ”Hurry up and save me! If I die, you won’t be able to shake the blame!”

The boss had no choice but to swallow his rage for now. ”Hurry up and help us to the car!”

Aside from the three who had been injured, the remaining dozen or so unharmed thugs were incredibly thankful to be alive.

Zhang Yun calmly went back to buying breakfast. While waiting, he used his phone to book a room at another hotel. Although Tang Zhiwei would be spending quite some time in the hospital, he didn’t necessarily have to show up in person. If he could hire one gang of thugs, couldn’t he hire another? Zhang Yun wasn’t afraid of retaliation, but Yang Xiaoyun couldn’t withstand that kind of blow.

By the time he returned to Room 1503, Yang Xiaoyun was sitting on the bed, playing on her phone. She hadn’t put on her previous dress, but had changed into a different one. It was obvious she had brushed her hair and even seemed to have applied lipstick.

Zhang Yun silently cursed himself for being such a jerk. She had clearly prepared herself, wanting to welcome him in her best possible state, and here he was, coming back with nothing but breakfast!

”Why did you take so long? Any random little convenience store should sell them. Could it be you were out looking for some magic stamina pills like the rooster in the joke?” Yang Xiaoyun caught the scent of breakfast but deliberately teased him anyway.

”Let’s get you fed first!”

Was he planning to do the deed after they ate? Yang Xiaoyun carefully walked over. Having sprained her ankle, she could only tiptoe slowly.

”Let’s check out in a bit and switch to a different hotel,” Zhang Yun said. He didn’t plan on telling her what had just happened to spare her any worry, but he had to make sure they moved.

”TSK TSK! You’re so young, yet you really know how to enjoy yourself. A budget hotel isn’t good enough for you? Are you planning to book a five-star place?” Yang Xiaoyun rolled her eyes slightly. The Vienna hotel brand had a few different tiers, and even its economy class was considered quite decent among budget hotels. It was perfectly fine even when she brought her kid along.

Zhang Yun nodded. ”I’ve already booked a room at the Hilton. I’ll help you move your things over in a little while.”

”Crazy! Is that really necessary? You... Oh, I get it. You just want a bathtub, right?” Yang Xiaoyun looked him up and down. ”Are you actually a seasoned veteran just playing innocent?”

Zhang Yun poked her lightly on the forehead. ”Don’t connect everything back to that. I’m doing this for your safety! Even you find it hard to believe; do you think Tang Zhiwei would actually buy the excuse that I just bumped into him and followed him here? He definitely assumes I’m staying here with you. Plus, I just broke that woman’s nose. What if he brings people here for revenge?”

Yang Xiaoyun nodded repeatedly. If she was the only one in danger, she would accept her fate, but she absolutely couldn’t drag Zhang Yun down with her.

”No wonder you held back this whole time! You were afraid of getting caught in the act halfway through. Got some Experience, huh?”

”...”
