Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 599: Chapter 642: Sharp Words

Pete’s face darkened as he retorted unceremoniously, ”Our president is thirty-five this year, in the prime of life. Should I take your words as cursing our president to an early death?”

Taken aback by Pete’s words, the shareholder who just spoke realized he had misspoken out of impatience and stammered to explain, ”I... I didn’t mean that! It’s just that heaven has unpredictable storms and people have unexpected vicissitudes. Things are good now, but no one can guarantee what will happen next! Like natural disasters or accidents, life and death are unpredictable!”

The more he explained, the darker Pete’s expression became. He mercilessly counterattacked, ”This shareholder, if I’m not mistaken, you are at least sixty if not seventy, correct?”

The shareholder blushed and replied awkwardly, ”Sixty-three!”

Pete snorted coldly and sneered, ”You’re sixty-three and not in a coffin yet, so how can you say our president will die before you? While I can’t guarantee our president will live to your age, I can at least guarantee that after you’re gone, our president will still be alive! That’s enough!”

Pete’s sharp and ruthless words instantly made the shareholder’s face turn green and white!

Apparently not satisfied, Pete continued, ”As for your topic about our president’s passing in old age! Our president has already promised to protect Nanshang Group for the rest of his life, but no one can guarantee whether the successor of Nanshang Group, after our president is gone, will be able to keep Nanshang Group! Are you suggesting that for Nanshang Group, our president is not even allowed to pass away peacefully? That he must guard your Nanshang Group forever? In other words, even if you choose any suitable successor now, can he be more capable than our president? Does he have our president’s courage? Can you guarantee he will never age or die, and will always protect your Nanshang Group?”

Pete’s words left all the shareholders speechless!

Seeing them not responding, Pete impatiently said, ”If it wasn’t for our president’s wife here today, our president wouldn’t even bother standing here, let alone say a word to them! That’s all there is to it—there’s only one chance. If you don’t agree to appoint our president’s wife as the new president of Nanshang Group, then our Mu Group will withdraw all its investments from Nanshang Group and have nothing to do with you anymore! Future collaborations will also be off the table!”

”...!” Pete’s words were undoubtedly the final threat!

Over the decades, everyone had become accustomed to Nan Mingchuan’s gentle way of handling things and was unaccustomed to the firm and domineering approach of Pete and Mu Beiting!

”Let’s go!” Mu Beiting didn’t give them a chance to reconsider, taking Ye Anxin’s hand to leave.

”President Mu, wait...!” Not wanting to let Mu Beiting leave so easily, Nan Mingchuan hurriedly tried to persuade him to stay.

But Mu Beiting acted as if he hadn’t heard, pulling Ye Anxin’s hand and walking towards the door without looking back.

”We agree...!” As they got closer to the conference room door, the shareholders couldn’t sit still any longer and unanimously agreed!

Hearing their words, Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin finally stopped walking!

Pete spoke on behalf of Mu Beiting, ”Then hold a press conference and announce this to the public!”

Nan Mingchuan eagerly said, ”The reporters have long been waiting outside! Since everyone has no objections to this matter, let’s call them now and hold a press conference!”

Mu Beiting didn’t respond to him, but looked at Ye Anxin, speaking softly, ”I’ll wait for you in the lounge. Pete will stay to help you, and you can leave everything to him. Don’t push yourself too hard, okay?”

Ye Anxin nodded and promised, ”I know! After the press conference, I’ll come and find you!”

”Okay!” Mu Beiting nodded satisfactorily and turned to leave the conference room.

Knowing Mu Beiting didn’t want to face the reporters and cameras, Nan Mingchuan didn’t try to stop him. After Mu Beiting left the conference room, he had someone call the waiting reporters in!

With Mu Beiting’s assurance and Pete’s support, the entire press conference went extremely smoothly! After announcing the new president of Nanshang Group to all the reporters, Nan Mingchuan handed over all of Nanshang Group’s shares to Ye Anxin in the presence of shareholders and lawyers!

People were puzzled why Nan Mingchuan suddenly handed over such a massive conglomerate to a young pregnant woman with no experience. Some even watched with a mindset of expecting failure!

Although everyone present had different thoughts, the handover ceremony was relatively smooth!

Meanwhile, Mu Beiting sat in the lounge, watching the handover ceremony of Nanshang Group’s new president on the lounge’s TV. His gaze remained fixed on Ye Anxin, who was surrounded by others, with eyes full of tenderness and affection!

The handover ceremony lasted a long time, followed by individual interviews!

Afraid of saying something wrong, Ye Anxin almost maintained a smile throughout and didn’t speak; Pete answered everything on her behalf. It made the reporters start to suspect the relationship between Ye Anxin and Pete!

After a long day, the matter of Nanshang Group’s new president was finally settled! Due to the complexity of the issues, both lunch and dinner took place in the conference room! Nanshang Group also prepared substantial meals for the visiting reporters!

After a busy day, the reporters finally left, and Ye Anxin could finally breathe!

Nan Mingchuan placed a large stack of documents in front of Pete, saying ingratiatingly, ”Pete, these are Nanshang Group’s recent businesses and partners! Please take them to President Mu to review!”

”Okay!” Pete nodded, directly taking out one of the documents and began reading.

Seeing this, Nan Mingchuan wasn’t angry!

He knew Pete and Mu Beiting were one; all documents reaching Mu Beiting almost always passed through Pete’s hands. During the cooperation between Nanshang Group and Mu Group, he had clearly understood Pete’s ability and absolutely trusted him!

Now, passing the significant responsibility of Nanshang Group to Mu Beiting finally gave him peace of mind! Even in death, he could rest in peace!

Noticing Ye Anxin’s uneasy expression, Pete asked with concern, ”Ma’am, it’s been a long day. Please go back to the hotel with the president to rest!

Nan Mingchuan smiled and said, ”Is President Mu in the lounge now? I’d like to thank him in person!”

Pete nodded faintly, ”Yes!”

For the wife’s biological father, he still had the minimum respect!

”Anxin, you and Assistant Pete sit for a while, I’ll be right back!” With that, he waved to Ye Anxin and Pete and headed to the lounge!
