Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 588: Chapter 631: Opening Up the Heart

”...!” Ye Anxin blinked, feeling a warmth in her heart at Mu Beiting’s seriousness, but also a tinge of helplessness. ”Uncle, just let it go! I’m the one involved, and I’m not bothered. Why are you so concerned? Besides, this little injury means nothing to me!”

”No, I said no, and that’s that!” With that, Mu Beiting released Ye Anxin and went upstairs without looking back!

The butler stood there dumbfounded, watching Mu Beiting’s retreating back as he ascended the stairs, then looked at Ye Anxin helplessly, ”Madam, what should we do now?”

Ye Anxin replied helplessly, ”Go check if she’s still outside! If she is, let her in!”

”Alright!” The butler nodded, took an umbrella from the villa’s entrance, opened it, and went out, soon disappearing into the gray rain.

Ye Anxin sat down on the sofa, waiting for the butler to bring Mo Xuehong inside!

After a while, the butler returned, but he was alone!

Ye Anxin glanced behind the butler, although she had already guessed the situation, she couldn’t help but ask, ”Where is she?”

”I searched all over the courtyard outside, didn’t see her! Madam, please wait a bit, I’ll check the surveillance footage!” Saying this, he placed the umbrella down and headed to the surveillance room.

Ye Anxin patiently sat on the sofa, waiting!

After a while, the butler returned. Before Ye Anxin could ask, he truthfully reported, ”Madam, I just checked the surveillance. She was picked up by a taxi at around ten o’clock and has already left!”

”Oh! If she’s already left, just let it be then!” Hearing the butler’s words, Ye Anxin felt a bit troubled and sorry for Mu Beiting.

If Mo Xuehong had persisted in waiting outside, at least it would show she had some genuine feelings for her son, Uncle! Her waiting might have softened Uncle’s heart to forgive her!

But, she couldn’t stay and left! This shows her love for Mu Beiting, her son, is really pathetically little, almost non-existent!

Seeing the look of heartache and helplessness on Ye Anxin’s face, the butler seemed to remind, ”Madam, it’s almost lunchtime!”

”Alright! I’ll go wash up and then come down to eat with Uncle!” Ye Anxin nodded, stood up, held her waist with one hand and touched her belly with the other, and carefully went upstairs!

Back in the room, Mu Beiting was still standing by the window, staring out!

Ye Anxin sighed inwardly, walked over slowly, and comforted, ”Uncle, rest assured! The butler just went out to check, she’s not outside anymore! Later the surveillance showed she left after ten o’clock! So, you don’t need to worry!”

Mu Beiting answered plainly, ”Besides you and Xiao Bai, I won’t worry about anyone else!”

Ye Anxin asked, confused, ”Then why are you staring out the window?”

”I just remembered something from long, long ago! That year I was eight, and it was raining very heavily just like today...” At this point, Mu Beiting stopped speaking!

”And then?” Ye Anxin knew that anything that could make Uncle remember must be extremely unforgettable!

What happened that day?

”And then... ha...!” Mu Beiting let out a cold laugh, a rare flicker of bitterness in his eyes!

Seeing his expression, Ye Anxin’s heart tightened involuntarily, ”Then what happened? Did she do something to you?”

Mu Beiting’s eyes flickered slightly, his thin lips pressed tightly together in silence, his whole being shrouded in a layer of gloom!

Seeing him like this, Ye Anxin’s nose couldn’t help but sour, her vision unknowingly misted over. She hugged Mu Beiting with a heartache, choked up, ”Uncle, if it’s painful, don’t think about it! The past is past! Just forget it!”

Mu Beiting said bitterly, ”I also thought I’d forgotten! But her appearance made me realize how vividly unforgettable that moment was, as if it happened just yesterday, so clear!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin’s tears fell instantly, ”Uncle, stop thinking about it! I’m here with you! If Mo Xuehong’s presence truly causes you so much pain, then let’s make her leave! Don’t let her come before you again!”

Mu Beiting held Ye Anxin tightly in his arms, his face buried deeply in her soft hair.

After a while, just when Ye Anxin thought he wouldn’t speak again, his deep voice slowly came from her hair, ”That day, I had originally been working hard on the construction site, but because of the rain, I suddenly returned home! Then... then I saw... saw the scene I almost saw every day!” Here, Mu Beiting’s throat choked up, pausing, and he continued, ”It was raining heavily outside, she kicked me out of the house again! As usual, I went scavenging to sell the trash! That day, just like today, it was raining very hard, not a single pedestrian on the road, only me! I remembered very clearly, that day I sold a total of one dollar, a lot of money, enough for my living expenses for a week! I held that dollar, sitting outside the house, only after that man left did I go in! Once in, I washed clothes, cooked, did housework! But that night, I got seriously ill, a high fever that didn’t go away, I lay alone on the bed for a week before the fever finally subsided, I came back from the brink of death! During that week I was sick, she remained the same as usual, constantly changing men, never caring that I was there by the side! At that time, I thought, how wonderful it would have been if I had died that day! Then all the suffering would cease!”

Mu Beiting spoke all in one breath, the longest he had spoken since marrying Ye Anxin, also the first time he opened his heart to her, recounting his past!

The more she listened, the stronger Ye Anxin’s tears flowed!

Uncle is so pitiful, truly too pitiful! She knew only when the pain reached a certain level would Uncle speak up to her! Right now, Uncle’s heart must be a thousand, ten thousand times more painful than hers!

A child only eight years old, working on a construction site, rummaging for trash after being driven out in the rain, sick but not just not cared for by his mother, she instead indulged every day with different men!

How cruel is this to an eight-year-old child!

She had long known that before Uncle was ten, his mother indulged in front of him with different men every day!

Little did she know that during the days he was sick, she hadn’t curtailed the behavior in the slightest!

It’s just so abhorrent! How could someone be so cruel to their own son?

Mu Beiting said through gritted teeth, ”Filthy, I thought she was so filthy! Filthier than any trash I’d picked up by the roadside!”

Listening to Mu Beiting’s child-like voice, Ye Anxin’s heart felt as if it was being torn in two, bleeding, even breathing hurt!
